This new government spokesman what's his background and did he ever see the inside of a university classroom, let alone graduate? He may have and might as well be a highly educated and qualified professional of some field but he comes across as an illiterate person who never went to school and knows not a thing about communications, let alone being a spokesman of the government of all clients. He violets cardinal rule No. 1 for a spokesperson any communications student will tell you and that's you don't show emotion or otherwise be entangled with the issue or issues about which you're speaking be it in behalf of the president or government or whoever. Watching this fellow whine about Raila and the heckling of my good friend Dr. Matiangi in Kisii one can rightly assume they're watching a hapless partisan or political hack in action, not a government spokesman. While political consideration and calculations is always behind every message passed on by a government spokesman, there is actually a difference between government policy and partisan politics. When one rolls both into one, you no longer have a national government; you have a regime driven by one and only one agenda and that's how to cling to power. If that's what Jubilee wants, then this Kariuki person suits their needs perfectly. If it's a national government they want; one that's not there to only serve their selfish and partisan interests, then they should either send this spokesperson to take a crash course in communications and send him out to talk only about things that are serious and of interest to the country, not to whine about things that are better handled elsewhere and without such exaggerated or manufactured drama. If the government has evidence that someone organized the heckling of speakers at the Kisii event, let them show us what laws were broken and charge those they deem guilty. If the government believes Raila has refused to surrender government vehicles, there is no shortage of means they can use to get those vehicles back than whining about it. If Raila is using illegal sirens or breaking traffic laws, that's a matter for traffic police who should treat him no different than they treat retired presidents Moi and Kibaki. It would be obviously stupid and moronic for anyone to say Raila should be accorded less dignity and honor as our former prime minister simply because he's still active in public affairs. All retired leaders unless bed-ridden or are otherwise incapable of doing so routinely engage in public affairs and some even come back from retirement to seek public office or appointments. The benefits and privileges of retirement are in recognition of past contributions, not a reward or punishment for future conduct or level of participation. Raila and Kibaki both served as co-leaders under the law and both are entitled to identical retirement benefits it matters not a whit what either or both intend to or actually do in the future. Jubilee therefore must decide whether addressing the myriad of problems afflicting most Kenyans is their priority or "taming" Raila is. They couldn't have a better spokesman for the latter than this fellow they have there now--from Cord's perspective, that is. Uchambuzi Tanaka

I pity him. He has found himself entangled in anti raila grouping. The more he talks to defend his pay masters he looks more ms-informed.I propose IEBC/TNA adopts him as their official spokesperson.

Omwenga,
Was that the official government spokesman saying of the leader of the opposition: Raila has become toxic!
I think sensible people have to publicly call upon this Uhuru Kenyatta to watch his language.
Referring to the official leader of the opposition as toxic is a hateful and vindictive emotional decomposition, and given Ouru is in the dock for crimes against humanities, especially the Luo, the word 'toxic', apart from being 'hate-speech', is revelatory of a twisted form of intolerance, unworthy of democratic politics.
The duty of the opposition is to oppose the government, not sing her praises. And Raila seems to be doing a heavy-Hitters job of it.
Uhuruto's clueless response is to threaten, intimidate, abuse and incite hate against!
A dangerous game!
But this is funny: he {Rail}bought an illegal flash-light which his goons put on top of his car, with which he forever drives in the wrong direction in Nairobi! ---I add-- claiming he was the duly elected!
Well, Morsi too was duly elected! but where is he now? the state spokesperson asked with a malicious twinkle in his eye!
What a government yawa!

Indeed people. It has become vioja kenyani, watching these people self destruct.
The remark by uhuru's spokesman that got me giggling was that raila rented the crowd to heckle jubilee people. This man agwambo kweli has some supernatural powers. That stadium sits in the tens of thousands. That must have been some effort and quite a bit of money to rent a crowd that large and military precision planning to pack them all in the stadium to heckle in unison at appointed instances while praising agwambo. And to also achieve that feat against a state machinery with NIS at its beck and call.
Some prowess indeed for this 'toxic' man to also organise a strike with teachers from all tribes.
People, it is now official. The fact that a supposed government spokesman came out with all these nonesense shows that the official policy with government is RAILA. I think the script has been circulated: when or if we fail in delivering our mandate, we will blame raila...
They are rattled and clueless. Rattled because it is slowly dawning on them that the country is hostile to them and their policies. Rattled because this incident is very embarrassing and is heavily watering down uhuru's legitimacy. Other regions have seen this and I am sure they will follow suit if uhuru or his minions dare set foot...
How can you claim to be president of a country if various parts (many in fact) are hostile to your presence or your word. If you look at it holistically, the situation is bigger than just kisii.
Yet some here have blinkers on saying raila is a non entity... They have created this monster (the past month has been headlined by raila). Let's see how the game unfolds.

Over a year ago, an observer of the comedy that is Kenyan politics wrote this: It's actually something of a large-scale version of what some of our local politicians are doing, which makes Raila indispensable to them: I got caught for crimes? Raila. Problems with the UN, World bank, etc.? Raila. Money problems? Raila. Drought in the land? Raila. One has diarrhea? Raila. Rila, Raila, Raila. Talk about The Real Makmende!

Omundu, you amaze me with your excitement, it is like Raila just emerged from somewhere and is causing all this brouhaha. Raila has owned headlines since the days of Nyayo, to Kibaki and now. There is nothing he did in Kisii that is new, at least as far as I am concerned. Remember he has even infiltrated our own military before and attempted to overthrow a sitting president. What can be bigger than that, I wonder. What matters to me and I guess to UhuRuto is, what has he to show for all this? Or rather, what is he doing differently that is likely to have different results? If it is Uhuru's presidency you are fearing for, I want to ask you to relax with the confidence of Lucifer himself; we shall be on this road again with Raila after four years. ~~ Mwalimumkuu @nyumbakubwa ~~

Excitable you claim ? On the contrary mwalimu... I guess I could take your post and without changing anything, give it as advice to the jubilee mandarins like the supposed government spokesman and kimemia et al... If things are as you claim, that raila has done this before and it is nothing new, then why is the jubilee section frothing at the mouth attempting to pin everything on him at any opportunity ? Why don't they just ignore this nobody ? Mwalimu, if you took a bit of time to read a little more, you will realize that raila did not approach 'contacts' at the military to attempt a coup. He merely just knew about it beforehand. I guess you also believe the ICC connection with raila story.

Omwenga,
A cabinet secretary has said there are no state properties which Raila holds illegally. But before we certify the government spokesperson a liar, consider this: The royal 'we'! ---We, the Muthamaki! 'We own all the state properties, and since nobody informed us that Raila had been loaned some, we, when we heard he is still the former PM and riding around in one, assumed he had illegally availed himeself of it, outside our consent!'
Good man wrong job! Muthui Kariuki. Good man wrong job, Uhuru Kenyatta! too much Muthamaki in a republic!

Jakaswanga,
The contradiction of this so-called "government spokesman" right on his face by Interior Cabinet Secretary goes to show we're not the only ones who concluded this sycophant was payukering or something worse.
However, it's said when your enemy is self-destructing, you don't help them along but we have in this case and I am sure they appreciate--meaning the ones doing damage control. The other strategy is to let them self-destruct as a party but not let them take the country down with them; a delicate balance but can be done if played right.

Did we not talk of the same things when Alfred Mutua was in Muthui's position? Was he not called Goebbels by some here? Now Mutua is an exalted man sitting next to the former PM in the US......and he cannot be remembered for what he ever said! All that is needed is for Muthui to cross over and his sins are washed!

Ori Jakaswanga,
I saw that; nothing more could be said about what she says.
Btw, I am still laughing in disbelief when someone pointed out to me the fellow is a Facebook friend; I didn't believe so I checked and confirmed!
Now; do you unfriend someone like that or not? I have only unfriended one person in all the time I have been on Facebook and only because the fellow turned out to be an uncouth character. Nothing wrong having political foes or even enemies; in fact, I'd encourage everyone to do that for some discourse is better than none.
