The forum has provided a melting pot of ideas and thoughts that have formed the national discourse. Some of the ideas you hear from politicians can be traced to this forum. To the Administrator, thanks for giving us a chance to air our views. It is indeed a decade of great ideas shared, swords sheathed and unsheathed, but above all a go-to forum when you want to measure the political temperatures prevailing in the country.Kudos my elder bro OO.

Joining Jukwaa 10 years ago was my idea of following and haunting Oloo from Mashada!! He thought I was some strange police operative trying to hunt him down....but then many others in Jukwaa actually thought that way too. I remember Miguna Miguna asking me to my face if I was a policeman!
Time has really flown and the debates become a lot less fiery with the departure of some people who would not accept that times and politics change!
Jukwaa lives!

Happy 10th anniversary to Jukwaa... No, congratulations to Jukwaa are not complete without mentioning the alter ego of Double O, the veteran Kamalet who, indeed, has weathered all storms like a first mate to the captain! otherwise Jukwaa can be rough to the unprepared. Occasionally subtly elitist. That should worry Oloo, a pro peoples ideologist! Running a snobbish exclusive club! Let's go! More!

Among the very first to join Jukwaa was Abdul Mote.
I think that there is no one active in Kenyan online circles that I have known for a longer period-including Kathure and Adongo.
I knew Abdul Mote in the late 1970s when we lived in the same Majengo neighbourhood in Mombasa. He is an age mate of one of my younger siblings and was a very good friend of another Facebook friend of mine. We interacted briefly years later in Toronto, in the early 1990s before he relocated somewhere in Europe where he still resides. I was amused several years ago when another of my good Canadian friends INSISTED that Abdul was actually PROF. MAKAU MUTUA in disguise, based on a certain phrase Abdul used in a posting here in Jukwaa. No assurances from me could dissuade my friend that Abdul, a Mswahili from Mombasa was NOT the venerable leagle beagle don originally from Kitui now domiciled in Buffalo, New York State!

Oloo,
Kwanza pongezi tele kutoka kwangu!
Indeed Jukwaa has come a long way & still kicking!
Its been a while since I last posted here although I nip in 'home' from time to time. Oloo is one of the very few people who has stamped my heart. I certainly do admire his resilience and hope one day we shall 'sit together' in our advanced age, God willing, tuchange moto tena!
I leave Oloo's comments about a "mswahili from Mombasa". I would like to think otherwise, for now at least, but that is a topic for another day.
As for Jukwaa, I am so glad that it found a new age of legends, such as our energetic Jakaswanga, who has kept this forum going, and indeed I personally could'nt thank him enough for sustaining Jukwaa when others like us have been absent for eons.
But that is not to say there aren't others who have been significant in their presence within; my good friend OtishO, Omundu, and my spicy comrade Kamale amogst others, who by now entitlement to life membership is insignificant to allocate to them!
I must state that I did not forget about Jukwaa's 10th anniversary. Indeed I owe it for instilling some blogging traits, which I continue to use everyday.
As for Adongo, Daktari Job, RoughRider, Political Maniac and even Miguna Miguna, I do remeber them frequently and miss their presence every now and again.
I love you all Jukwaaists and may God keep you going for longer.
abdulmote.
