THE FESTERING TOXICITY OF SUBPRIME TITLE DEEDS IN KENYAThe vaults of the banks of Kenya are a treasure-trove. I don't mean the kind of stuff -megatonnes of bullion, whose tales drove the Greeks to sack Troy, while, as pretext, using an eloped booty who needed to be recovered to reconstitute the impertinented honour of a King. I mean the vaults of the Kenyan banks are filled with TITLE-DEEDS holding brief as COLLATERAL against loans out. There is therefore a roaring trade in title deeds, just like in school diplomas, certificates and degrees. But, me says, TITLE DEEDS in Kenya are like MOU's in Kenya: Contentious. Their veracity, oddly said, is fictitious. There are discrepancies (with the mother title deeds as we read in the article over the DANDORA landmass) which point to and verify institutional and HISTORICAL fraud at the national land's office. By JOHN KAMAUWe will come to Dr. Mo Swazuri later. He is just the latest wayward moth drowning in the filthy swamp. The NLC chair is currently hanging with the skin of his teeth on to his job, after the high court ruled, that the Mpigs have no power to investigate or oust him. But these simplistic frauds of the Swazuri's of the world aren't what is on the menu tonight. I want to serve toxic mortgages, subprime loans corroding away the nucleus of our banks and financial system. I think we could be on to a bubble. I challenge any financial investigative journalist to, JICHO PEVU, unearth the toxic land-related loans burrowed in the safes of our banks! I am sure there is an abscess there whose stench can not be perfumed away by false statistics. Here is one smoking gun. HERE IS ANOTHER FORENSIC CASE IN DETAILS How many silent cases of this template are out there!? IT can't be that difficult to nab the perpetrators of the swindle! Yet
. This being Kenya Land fraud? Fake title deeds? Lying somewhere in a bank vault as collateral perhaps? How would such banks move to secure their interest? And the solomonic And tales from Kisumu use to abound, of double or more allocation of plots, all title deeds genuine! (and remember this is Kenya where chief of intelligence Gichangi and CID director Muhoro rated themselves incapable of authenticating documents; whether a letter was a forgery or not was beyond the competences of their forensic auspices! yes, remember that FAKE LAB scandal!?) On the strength of fake documents? I am just wondering what the cumulative sum is, of loans out there on the strength of fake documents! Here is an example of how an otherwises straightforward exercise gets stalled in the mud of corruption and political expediency www.the-star.co.ke/news/2013/12/02/verify-land-before-issuing-titles-say-mps_c865797 Just thinking aloud. And ask yourself for real. Why would the NLC trick the president and his deputy into the issuance of thousands of title deeds which are controversial? But for today I am just thinking hmmm, how many of those title deeds held as collateral by banks are fake!? John Kamau How it is being resolved is a classical case in ingenuity, concludes the nation reporter. But the banks are holding their lips tight, aren't they? Just as well, lest a pandora's box situation come to pass!

FOOTNOTE 2: WICH OTHO NINDO E LUO (THE MENTALLY PARALYSED SIRIKALI SAIDIA PEOPLE) MIGUNA MIGUNA REVISITEDI have to revisit Miguna Miguna. I will skip his Nairobi run for today except for some preliminary remarks. (This is the Luo pivot!) He is the most visionary of the gubernatorial candidates. I bothered to read his manifesto. But we are not into visionary politics yet, the public space is still dominated by yesterday's men, the 'sugar-high' Kideros and slithering future eels like Peter Kenneth, and of course, a few Mighty Mama Familias, worms parasitically over obese. It is thus our tragedy, by no means unique in world history, to (have the pretention to) be ushered into the future by a bunch of yesterday's men, ghosts! (As a matter of fact I think Donald Trump in Washington too is such a ghost regime from the past! That drive to scatter Obamacare, what do you call that sort of atavism!? We need ghost busters!) I will therefore (in the Kenyan, Nairobi context) treat Miguna Miguna as a forensic, meaning he is conclusive evidence that, within Kenyan consciousness at large, already exists the ABRASIVE and healthy knowledge of what is to be done, and necessarily what will be. In deed it is all open, condensed in a political party programmatic form, wherefore the coming exorcist ritual is common knowledge. It is a house fully designed, na materials ziko tayari chini, sasa ni kungoja tu mafundi. --may the day break! The era of tigers who needn't cry their tigritude (Soyinka chirp) will come. These will be toiler-builders who, of a stronger breed unlike the much propagandised fathers of their nations who left but ruins, will self-explanatorily erect up-to-date worthy houses, homes far from these ramshackle, decrepit and dilapidated grass-thatch ruins, dated Berlin 1875. May the ground break, the foundations emerge! I see African unification the way I see German, (eventual) Korean, (eventual) Chinese and Vietnamese unifications: wasn't done in a day or two like Rome, wont happen tomorrow neither, but definitely rushing our way, meteorite style. We have a date with that hard destiny, for it is the logic of Africa's long march of liberation, a destiny which is the restoration of our (Cabralian) historical identity and dignity. --we have been over five centuries at the bottom. (especially we blacks!) . But now that, thanks to the half-African emperor Obama no less, Libyan Moamar Gadhafi is dead, unification lies fallen, a forlorn agenda outside the mental scope of any sitting African head of state, yet, dare I say, among the people, THIS is the only logical pathway ahead. (And not just because of the millions of war-displaced desperados wilting away in horrid camps around the continent, no, there is a looming epidemic of failed states, counting even Mighty Nigeria. These
. homelands
.. are unviable economic entities with nowhere to go except economics of scale, aggregation and unification! EAC, ECOWAS, SADC). This means any African head of state you can name off head, if any, is just but another example of those DEPLORABLES who used to head the so-called BANTUSTAN homelands in apartheid, racially segregated South Africa. Who remembers these Bantustan homeland greats anymore? And here is the parallel. 1975: Apartheid President: Diederichs. Homelands leaders: Buthelezi (KwaZulu), Mphephu (Venda), Sebe (Ciskei), Matanzima (Transkei), Mangope (Bophuthatswana), Phatudi (Lebowa), Mota (QwaQwa) (Gazankulu)Well, no one remembers these Bantustan chiefs anymore, except those paid to do so, historians, and others forced to do so, history students! The long-imprisoned thug Nelson Mandela was released and the dogs faded out into extinction, naturally, except for Gatsha Buthelezi who made a huge fuss and much ado about being a Zulu great before he bit the dust. The Zulu King these days --Goodwill I believe is his Majesty's name, is a socio-retard notorious for fanning the fires of xenophobia against fellow Africans. As Africa unites, I presume a Big country like Nigeria will very much behave like Buthelezi, becrying her greatness and rights to superiority over lesser peoples. But eventually the internal contradictions of Nigeria will dissolve her, and like the Scots running away from a Great Britain exited from the European Union, Yorubas, Igbos, Hausa's, Fulanis and the rest will be ready (if not already independent) to join the Greater African Union whilst letting Nigeria dissolve and Nigerians scatter. Nigeria is a medieval swamp of corruption worse than the criminal swamp of racism apartheid south Africa was! And with the Great Hopes like Buhari hibernating between death and life (like old Umaru y'Aradua), the swamp can only get more oily and murky. I am much pained. That is the African perspective I hold in the background as I pivot to Luo Nyanza. Miguna was pained, admittedly only after he too, just like later the infantile Jenerali Ababy, was slighted and maligned by The Enigma, Agwambo. Thence did they see the light. Better late than never I say, yes, furies of hell and scorned women apart. Nevertheless, double M's critique of the degeneration of Luo intellectuals and mental culture, was a heartfelt wail of distress. I gave it a thought, concluded it was my culture sending out an SOS. I said soHere is Miguna Miguna in his own flow Actually it is not totally sterile as such. Dialectically speaking, it is warzone of conflicting and conflagrating consciousnesses, it is a vicious battlefield of contradictions barely in peaceful coexistence. It is a disaster zone, but in the sense of the birth pangs of the new, in the sense of a labour ward, where all the screams and blood on the floor are not necessarily of mourning and murder and vile abortions, but the precursors to big smiles on the face of mothers, mothers bringing forth new robust life, if yet still delicate. But Miguna's emotions are authentic. The outrage at mediocrity rational and representative. Watching the financial mess His Excellency Awiti Jamawego has presided over in Homa Bay, the classifications total mediocrity, regenerative sterility, mental paralysis in toto, may still be putting it mildly. Outrage is well placed. Articulate outrage even better. Programmatic blueprints great. Action best. Because there is no organised opposition to the One Party ODM state in Nyanza, dissent is likely to expressed in turn-out passivity. This (content of Miguna critique) is a painful subject. It gnaws at the soul of the Luo nation. There have been various methodologies of dealing with it, all pathologies, of which DENIAL is the official narrative. Mine (dubious brand of pathology), is to wax passionate, lyrical and indulgent, chronicling the depravities of Luoland's elite. I am your ABUNUWASI, the aristocracy's fool! May be I should be consumed wailing, seeing as it is I obsess with blues. Actually I am partially wailing, but the dense layers of emotional and intellectual experience deposited by my fierce engagement with Africa in my youth, tend to combust and transmute the grief into bursts of art. And so ATIMO NENO (I hold testament) like an old woman, rendered unfeeling, after a long and adventurous life with a dangerous spouse. Of course I was once married to Luo nationalism. Then in my ears were whispered the (sem) seditious pamphlets illuminating the pitfalls of nationalist consciousness, Fanon. Here,Nairobi, is candidate Miguna pitching. Who, out there, can tear him down like he tears the others down!? that is how an idea whose time has arrived works. You hate it. You wont accept it. you will denounce it. But the damn thing you have called a BRAIN will rebell within you. You become 'DISSONANCE' in motion! a thing at war with itself! Hold the line! I got visitors to attend! Continued.

WHAT WAS PEV AND WHAT AND WHO CAUSED IT?--Toward truth and reconciliation, justice and ingenuous solutions to longstanding land grievances!Matusi aside, Muigai's recent roar in Kisii, belling Raila as the architect of the 2007-8 PEV, is as much a dangerous confabulation as the historical amnesia he displayed during last year's Mashujaa day, when he wickedly omitted first-class independence heroes from the national roll call of honour. Conflicted Menoah Esipisu (the speech editor who let the malicious amnesia ride), in concert with the rogue-gone academics behind Mr. Kenyatta's speeches, are testing the limits of propagandised history. They set the president up for petty mediocrity, such that even his thinking supporters flinch, watching what, in Emilio speak, counts a pumbavu president talking mavi-ya-kuku in public. The PEV was a categorical rejection of rigged elections. Those with a land grievance in the rift perceived the rigging as a defeat of the agenda of LAND REFORM. This, combined with the irrational fears of a further marginalisation after the --- Kaleo ethnic---- purge which followed the ouster of Arap Moi, precipitated the mayhem. So it is the land issue made the Rift Valley the epicentre of the quake. NB: Well, there are those who had believed their own illusions that Raila Odinga could not win a presidential election because of his origins from the land of uncut c.ocks! These false prophets and illusionists around Kibaki had to feed on their own vomit that day. Martha Karua slurping the giant share in public. And so much poison it was she never recovered to this day. It is significant to report, that the falsification of history and the subsequent teaching of ruling class propaganda as history, is nothing new nor unique. There was FAKE HISTORY before the fake news of today. But if fake is another term for LIES, then surely 'liar' vies with prostitute for title of the oldest profession alive! God could have lied to man on the day of his creation for all we know! (I will check the Holy Books and report!). That snake fooling Eve in Eden came second! Propagandised history works best when power monopolises the cannons, The ISA's ---the institutional instruments of ideological self-reproduction and attempts at perpetuation. Modern times with informational technology has put paid to that. ( Althusser, like Fanon, is mandatory reading for students of literature! By the way.) The serious point then, is, the leading land-grabbing family, Delamere, has reason to falsify the cause of a land-injustice-based peasant rebellion. A necessary scapegoatism. Now FastForward. The landed wing of Gikuyu gentry, organised within Jubilee, are the likely authors of this 'revisionist hysteria' displayed by Kenyatta junior. In this they must have the silent but active support of the remnants of the white settler class who, still, 'past lease expiry's', want to hang on to the bounties of frontier territories like, say, the troubled Laikipia of pastor Maina Njenga contra old money GG Kariuki. History must be falsified to hide the true causes of a significant national pot-hole. Powerful interests must be protected. Truth, killed or at least mutilated to that purpose. (Analysing the social backgrounds and political biographies of Njenga vs Karume will tell a tale I wont delve into for today!) NB: Earlier on I had opted to theorise, that in a Bonapartist, futuristic instinct of survival, no longer bonded to primary land wealth generation, but evolved into a commercial (banker) and pseudo industrial accumulator, Uhuru Kenyatta could afford to dissociate himself from the most reactionary 'settler ideology' concerning their land narrative. In other words, permit a limited land reform even to an apparent detriment to his vast family land fortune! (a fortune based on the primitve accumulative greed of his late father!). This is why elsewhere - on the rates cap---- I mused about the possibilities of Uhuru Kenyatta going Bonapartist. Bonapartism light is the ability of a SUPREME to suppress, temporarily or permanently, the parochial interests of one or more (most reactionary) sub-sectors of the ruling constellation which threatens the whole class rule. This is done in favour of a longer term strategy to guarantee the class rule forever. That is the quick of it. Actually the display of insanity in Kisii, even if originally meant as a propaganda pitch, shocked me. It suggested the president's mind, my Bonapartist fantasies WOLOLOLO in tatters, is thoroughly fcuked up by the most reactionary wing of the ruling class. If that particular sector holds Ouru's mind hostage, the president will make political blunders which can not be jokingly dismissed as QUIXOTIC! only positively catastrophic. NB: A by the way: in the resolution of the doctor's strike for instance, the medics should be paid. Letting corrupt governors confiscate the salaries of heart and brain surgeons for a union-organised strike is not the stuff of today's (2010 constitution) Kenya. It is escalatory and provocative, a fcuk head decision the president should move to rescind forthwith. He is being set up again for an egg facial. Anyway, that was a by the way. Back to the important land and the Jubilee-changed PEV narrative. It is a warning to William Ruto, the heir apparent --(even as the 'dark horse' shadow of Peter Kenneth looms large). Ruto is not in a position to falsify his peoples history. Kalenjin history. He is not in a position to hide their true grievance respective PEV. Silence may be the golden option. These are the events which surged him forward to eclipse the Old King, Arap Moi. Sir William can not publicly claim the Kalenjin were misled, incited by Raila to reject the rigged electoral result and, more so, to evict the Gikuyus! This was a home-bred rebellion, and the MADOADOA theology underlying it was common currency long before Arap Mibei showed up with the Pentagon, just like other coded euphemisms (like weeding) too. The rigging was the awaited spark so to speak. And stuff did burn, so to speak.FEAST OF THE CANNIBALS Kiambaa church, Naivasha abodes The BBQ masters overdid the meat! We like our choma well-done in Kenya But verily this day were we taken aback By how easily our appetites can change!Ruto himself cut quite a heroic figure next to James Orengo at KICC as they rejected Kivuitu's evil facilitation of the coup-de tat which re-imposed Mwai Kibaki on the nation. Land lording Gikuyu aristocrats ---- who do not want a Mumbi diaspora returnee squatter class reawakening the Mau Mau-for-what argument----- may never get over their antipathy toward this William. He is too risky, too much a Machiavellian who can hunt with the hounds and sleep with hares as the saying goes! It is all about land. I want to interrogate the reputed wisdom, that the obsession of Kenyan politics is with ethnicity, and reduce it all to one word, LAND. FIRST, NAIROBI. Forgetting Lakipia, Coast, alienated Maasailands and the Rift Valley for the moment, let us consider this article by the nations John Kamau on the wide berth of land in Eastlands, Donholm, Umoja to Dandora, Savannah, Tenah, Sossian and Jacaranda areas toward Kayole and beyond. Let us watch this ENGENUITY! Because Kenya is a powder keg of land trip-wires. A functional resolution template could be replicated elsewhere with heavenly results! End of tension and reaction. But first a few random observations and questions. Now land, title deeds, bank loans, and the Nairobi rental economy: Is it all a house of cards as far as the LR NO 12562 AND All that plot subdivisions arising from LR 11379/3? A tale of robbery upon robbery, piracy upon piracy, injustice upon impunity upon greed, upon rot and corruption? complex indeed, but a tale of straightforward SWINDLE! the rest are FORGERIES! 38 years of serial dealership in stolen property is still incomparible to 200 years of or more of colonial land grabs!! But JEEZ, I got friends and family owning homes in Umoja and Buruburu etc etc! castles in the air? Is it a fake economy? based on title deeds as fake as the signature of Bor on the doctors CBA of 2013? ingenuity required, I agree with Kamau.

WORKING FOR THE PRESIDENCY, THE CARAVAN AT THE PEV BRIDGEUHURUTO is out on the trail peddling hot air for re-election. There is a lot of midnight oil which needs to be burnt to heat up such air. But it is admirable how tenacious and determined they go about it. A bit reckless, they have even announced a pre-emptive ban on protest demonstrations after the results in August! It is a zeal which in a country with a history of electoral rigging coagulates more doubts than confidence! --But what is? They keep a tight schedule gallivanting around the counties throughout the country at large, frantically finding projects to boast of and open. This whirlwind is forcing managers to feed the Presidency false information. (Think of the Kenya power boses on last-mile electric connections, and Treasury guys on the disburse figures to Joho's Mombasa and Nanok's Turkana. The ruling duo make their points, quixotically energise the base, and even if not always conclusively, they never shy from the underhanded nor dirty-hand tick, like we see in their rearguard action against the thorn, Mombasa Joho. This means they are really raising the stakes, fanning the fires, even as they accuse the opposition of divisive politics. (I am thinking and coming to the Quixote's PEV remarks, that it was Raila who did it!) In what increasingly looks like a personal bend against Joho whom the president swore to tame anyway, over enthusiastic presidential handlers sent state thugs to disrupt Joho's rally yesterday in Kinango, Kwale, just a few days after hired goons threw faecal matter at him in Mpeketoni. The Mpeketoni of the 'high presence of non-locals', whatever that means exactly. Persona non grata games at the coast!? eh! why toy with pins on a grenade? There is a tinge of hysteria creeping into the presidential act. We have seen His Excellency collapse into seedy diatribes in public. Not just at trouble-shooting NASA-allied governors like Joho and Nanok, but also recently in Kisii at the address of Agwambo Tinga. Ouru pined, hotly and maliciously, that it was Raila who should have gone to the Hague to face the whiteman ICC music for PEV!DP Ruto, waiting on the wings to succeed him at the top seat, is more consummate, less given to bouts of hysteria and publicly vented unstable tantrums, save for that teary day in church when the graces of the good lord overwhelmed him. Baba Anna punctuates his deliverance with biting humour and cheeky, innuendoistic ridicule. --' Yule jamaa wa kuchapwa makofi na bibi! Kwani kule chini haifanyi!?' 'Yule jamaa wa vitendawili, porojoporojo, hadithi na maneno maneno!' -Na yule mwingine mwenye hajakuwa na msimamo tangu mwanzo, mara katikati, mara sijui huku nyuma, lakini kila uchaguzi atakuja mwisho!'But when Joho took him to task in Bomet -- 'Muizi hanitishi mimi!' The Singh wisely lived to fight another day, on another front. He recognised the sword at his Achilles heel, and like a gladiator wishing to live surrenders, lost with his back on the sand, his nemesis holding his gaze, the public chanting for blood, Sir William chose dear life in a concession. He learnt the lesson in his case against the activist known as Boniface Mwangi. Who is cleaner than who? that is a battle he can neither win in whatever court, neither that of public opinion nor the judiciary bandias of Maraga!Uhuru on the other hand, wildly fluctuates in dangerous shows of character instability. If Joho is a pharmacist, may be his Excellency is one of his clients is a joke I have heard tell. 'Ndiyo yeye anakufuata fuata, sio mamba ya ubibi ama ush-oga' The other is of course, that being on the road day in week out dodging flying tackles, absorbing abuse by political manambas, evading head-on collisions and shouting at road-raged loonies, does get to a man's nerves. Even if he is Don Muthamaki, and assured in some way of carrying the contested day! Continued. WHAT WAS PEV AND WHAT AND WHO CAUSED IT?

THO NINDO MAR WICH OMAKO LUO(THE RETURN OF THE SLEEPING SICKNESS TO LUONLAND) The culture of a people, however deemed primitive, germinates seeds of resistance to all forms of dictatorship; this is why colonialism is a wholesale exercise in cultural repression. --( Samora Machel, echoing Amilcar Cabral) It might follow, meseems, that the end of colonialism and its passage into neo-colonialism within our borders, continues an all out invisible war on the culture of the peoples of Africa, this time, more so by the own elite, THE MIMICS. But now, past half a century past the point where the political bondage of colonialism was allegedly broken, can we truly continue the liberation struggle for economic and cultural revolution while accepting the leadership of the MUTANTS currently running Luo Nyanza? I am proposing, we need not look very far to find the 'Okotian' FOREIGNERS poetically leading us by the nose. But, kikulacho kiko kinguoni mwako, take a close look at the governor near you -O Luoland! peel back those layers of masks, O Luoland! does His Lordship (no Her Excellency here) not look very much like Jubilee Ouru Kenyatta!? Make a list of the reasons you wont be voting back the incumbent Ouru Kenyatta ---O Luoland! check the points against the attributes/performance of your ODM Luo governor (whom you will be voting back)! What do you think now? Is your ODM governor not a mini Jubilee Ouru!? Count the FINANCIAL SCANDALS, COUNT the family and extended bloodlines involved. Yeah, Only difference is Ouru is a Kikuyu and a bigger one! So me thinks, if we Luos are pledged in our homeland to vote back thieves in ---with the exception of Uhuruto, surely there is too, enough other Kenyans out there pledged to vote back in, the Eurobond challenged dynamic duo! And believe it or not, they, the primitive Jomwa, are kind of smart enough to figure out our opposition ot Ouru on performance is a fake narrative! If your are in opposition, you better do better than the incumbent in order to have a hearing. Lest the people stick with the devil they know. I hear Nigerians are clamouring for Jonathan! (Better a living Graft King than a dead Mr. Clean. Buhari has been doing an Umaru Yar'Adua on his people! Dead but pretending to be alive! the old goat!) IGNORING ALL WARNINGS The lessons to be read, taught, imported and interned, tell the tales of legends like Simbi Nyaima; Civilisations sunk to oblivion courtesy of a drunken, collective denial. Yet the storm clouds were gathering in plane sight; a ' Cassandra' moment, if ever there was one within Piny Jokonagi, the land of the Luo. The gods are ever that kind. They don't just work woe upon mankind without ample warning! But being game, we mortals are of irresistible instinct to jest the fates! There are also the legends of Mboga Misori. That is the Thwon Jarawilla mentioned in the same breath with illustrious heroes like Okore Kogonda, Lwanda Magere, Obondo Mumbo, Lala Kabanda, Ogalo Gor Mahia, Gem Odera Akang'o and Waljak O Jakager among others. Mboga took a long journey to the ends of the known world to beget the antidote which would quell the epidemic of sleeping sickness which was ravishing the Owilla peninsular. The Prophet, Chief and medicine man in one, succeeded, but at a cost to his own life. He tested the vaccine doses on himself and let himself be bitten by one too many Tse-tse flies to perfect it! He is a legend of much songs in the respective national consciousness, but of course this is the type of lore barred by the alienated elite from expression, elevation to the OFFICIAL pantheon, or public reverence on national occasions and rallies they preside. You know, as we preach peace toward the coming do-fair or die election, some of these heroes --like General Waljak, cut a figure of ' warlike' brutes who, we know, would kill anybody who rigged an elections ..... or should I say ODM nominations!? Some contests must just be fair and the results genuine, otherwise social cohesion becomes history ---pray hard as you may! Waljak is the man who re-invented/instituted tying dry grass around the hands of thieves and setting them on fire. OUR THIEVING GOVERNORS BEFORE THE COURTS OF OUR HARSH GREATS The title His Excellency is busy committing suicide. The more one refers to a HomaBay chicken thief like Cyprian Awiti as his Excellency ...... (or Eurobond thief Ouru Kenyatta as his excellency for that matter).... the more this cognitive dissonance incites mental reparations. The discrepancy, tautology, must be intellectually resolved somehow. The temporary resolution is that folks stop attaching too much importance to the title. In fact it deflates, starts to move toward ridicule. For instance all the mpango wa kandos of MCA's are titled FIRST LADIES. To differentiate them from 'sponcy' which even a bodaboda can afford to! The MCA's are some kind of new kids on the block, new rich, their legal and wedded wives are known as Queen. Around the Queen orbits many First Ladies! In luoland alone, this means there is a plague of first ladies! a plague of their Excellency's'! But that is just culture giving a warning about seeping content, seeking new concepts. ---This is why I make it a point to attend burials. Wily Masters of Ceremonies hit the codes and the public, Roman crowd as ever, are game as usual. Mikayi maggi, ma gin Kwingi, ema wabiro luongo nyinggi kende. Nikech First Ladies monyono direge to ng'eny, kwan ma ok rum! To un bende, Jokanyarnam, ang'eyo ok ubi pingo mano, nikech seche nok, dang' piny ru ka pod wakwano nyinge First Ladies!Rough translation:O people of the lake who have taken time off their precious activities to attend this burial, we will acknowledge by mention only the Queens, who are the First Wives (of our honourable and highly esteemed MCA's). Because the First Ladies who support them are too numerous to mention, and tomorrow would find us here if we go down that path, you, the people of the lake will wholeheartedly support my efforts at time economy! And the people look at one the other with their faces completely in earnest grief. They nod gravely in agreement with the wisdom and well-speak of the master of ceremonies. But the youth, among them the bodabodas who are a menace on such occasions, react differently. Some think they have heard something so funny they burst into laughter untypical of a mourning session. Others use the moment to let loose a burst of SIGUEYA VERSES which test even the resilience of the most humourphobic old man. 'JO ODM oolowa gi mpango wa kando e peswa. Koso wabe wakikie iye gi parti moko kaka mpango wa kando!'?These ODM hot studs and their mpango wa kandos to our cost are a rock on our feet, may be we should diversify a bit too, try other parties as mpango wa kandos!' ------------- FOOTNOTE 1. What do you think, Dear Luos, General Waljak Ochieng' Ager would do to H.E President Cyprian Awiti of Homa Bay? I wager my black c.ock he would ram a spear through Great Awiti's mouth until it protruded through his ass -impale, and that would just be the start as a long line of Nyanza MCA's, Kings, their assess loosed in advance by dread, faced the music. In a republican purge of parasitic royalty and thieving aristocracy! We must pretend we do not know these characters in our history and what they did. Lala Kabanda, another anti-theft monk, hanged thieves with their balls. That means if it is true Evans Kidero ' stole sugar' and rendered thousands destitute, Hard-Heart Lala Kabanda would throw him into the cane shredder for than economic crime against the people. You will never hear the name of Lala Kabanda, but if you know how to decode drum beats in pop (now transferred to gospel too), or guitar solos and nowadays, synthesiser whines in Ahangla Luo Voice, you will be chilled at the cold-bloodedness of your culture. Better shake your butts at ahangla beats with your mind switched off, or only occupied with sex ---for your own safety and peace of mind. (otherwise you will notice one of the latest, riotious ahangla accords is the NYAWAWA BEAT! perfected long ago during those dark, dangerous nights when evil spirits prowl, looking to feed and sounds must be produced to herd them off to the bottom of the sea!?) You will never hear any establishment Luo politician mention the name -or deeds or Lala Kabanda! He had the temper of the man-slaying Peleide, Achilles. So ruthless he would pull out the tongues of liars, like Tshaka Tzulu too used to. NB 2: To help me along on my LUO PIVOT ESSAYS, I, with a wink at the Great Instructor Okot P'Bitek, imagine myself summoned to the Kraal or office of one of them old brutes, say a paramount tyrant like Waljak Ager. His eyes too cruel to be cynical, his heart too cold to bother with smily welcomes, he gets to the point like a snake, thus: 'Opportunity cost, Omera, What random public good otherwise would the disappeared 400M have done in Homa Bay in that financial year?'I have looked into the eyes of highly competent and murderous tyrants before, so I am quick on it: -- 'Consider 240M settles a random 20,000 youths paid ksh.400/9-hr-WORKday dredging for 30 days manually removing hyacinth, General, 400M at economic thrift clears the inner gulf from the Mbita to Nyakach border!' Thus this is history in 60 days 50,000 boys at long days work! Why would any Luo open his mouth to Nairobi 'ati tunaomba sirikila saidia!? Right there is the sleeping sickness we need some daring calibre like Mboga, to solve and evolve into legend. But that is a thought beyond the ODM top layer. Come to think of it, like the hyacinth chokes the lake and kills off trade and the fish, the monopoly party is a film of filth on the gills of Luoland, asphixiating the populace.MUNGU PIA SAIDIA I can just see Waljak without batting an eyelid ordering that His Negligence President Awiti of Homabay, be tied up in a boatload bundle of hyacinth, then launched to swim in the snake pit which is the bay of Kendu today! The picture Kendu Bay harbour choked with water hyacinth & hippo grass. The elite is lawless, and we are powerless We are powerless because our minds sleep. The elite is safe, because we will vote for them We will vote for them because we are dead asleep There should be more sleeplessness to tackle this darkness

THE CONSTRAINED PRESIDENT AND ALTERNATIVE NARRATIVES There is an interesting explanation fronted by Mr. Muigai Kenyatta, on why he is so lacklustre. He says he is emasculated by the new constitution. That is the office of the president is tamed and constrained. He has repeated it so often I think he has convinced himself to believe it. Last repeat was the citizen interview Tuesday I think. The damn thing --in the words of Runyenjes Cecilia Mbarire---- ties his hands behind his back. He actions are thus, as his Excellency, reduced to little more than the rigor-mortis twitches substituting in for the last kicks of a dying horse! Those were the days When his Excellency Like the dictator of Rome Had Ceaserial powers over Kenya.
I miss them days, when a frown on the brows of the head of state Counted enough to dispatch the likes of JM, TJ, Gama and the rest
Aah, how time flies, and turns to dust Great days whose remains we mournEither the president and his handlers are clueless, or they are just spinning the usual stupid yarns of deluded power. But such yarns must be taken seriously for, apart from a pathology of internal rot at the top, state yarns have a practical devastating effect on common folks, and the populace. Research shows Kenyans think Graft is killing the nation. A danger more terrible than the cross border terrorism of Al-Shabaab. But the president says there is nothing he can do about it ---he points fingers at the EACC, Judiciary, Police and etc. And separation of powers etc. He reminds me of the governor of my native Homa Bay whose spokesman, responding to the ksh.400M malfeasance, declared the loss happened at the county assembly not the governor's cabinet/docket, and the doctrine of separation of powers means 'don't ask Awiti what the others have misappropriated!' NB: Here I agree with Miguna Miguna in his critique. There were days no Luo with some education would show such brain death and utter such moronism in public in defence of adminstrative debauchery and theft of public resources, but the devolution money has turned heads, more so Luo heads, reducing my beloved Homa Bay to the cursed folklore village of Simbi! the capital of 'sleeping sickness of the mind!'Yeah, the buck stops nowhere in this country. The buck is an ever orbiting electron around some core! No one takes responsibility for anything. That, is a disintegrated community. A community whose humanity is disputable. ---displaced from its historical identity? Keep that thought in mind for a later date. The separation of powers as a French leave from accountability. Meanwhile we will teach a formality, repeat it for the benefit of the dim president and the equally dim governor of my nativity. The president as leady of the ruling party and head of government, and cabinet, can initiate a LEGISLATIVE AGENDA ---to fight corruption for instance. He can do this just the way he did to curb press freedom, cub interest rates, curb disburse %tage to counties (like reduced oil dividends to Turkana). The president, as a matter of national priority, can seek BIPARTISAN AGENDATION, and lobby for a BICAMERAL RENDITION (both houses of legislature in unison) ----as would be the normal case to deploy troops abroad or at home. Such bipartisanship, fired by a national ant-graft consensus, can legislate a DRACONIAN packet against corruption. The president can argue his heart out on every microphone shoved to his face, to generate mass support for his graft-killing legislative agenda. And should Mpigs, or corrupt and rotten senators dilly-dally, overwhelming public pressure behind the Prezzo would surely tilt the balance. When a leader is with the heartbeat of the people, he works magic, needs no spin. As I write this, there is of course a carte blanche authority for the ATPU. And let us indeed grin the president is too powerless to stop the following 'rogue, no-nonsense cops'. www.nation.co.ke/news/Kenya-top-Africa-police-shootings/1056-3824890-1183k27/ And a rejoinder [/i] [/quote] www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2000200708/post-mortems-show-police-killed-eight-suspects-in-cold-blood This damn constitution constraints the president even from upholding it! He is too powerless to restrain 'rogue killer cops!' or are the killer-cops acting within the constitution? Like the ATPU is said to act under the national security committee, where the kill-list enumerating wanted terrorists is updated. The New York Times once published an indepth at how Barrack Obama used to authorise drone hit kills on the routine. The satirist in me puts it thus: Obama makes no drama about these things. He is a detached professor; there is no inkling of moral qualms in his demeanour. The highest office in American exceptionalism and him are a match made in heaven. The CIA butcher who brings the kill-list can barely hide his hard-on. Who knows, he could get a bonus kill if Potus Obama is minded to encircle more than the customary three names per week. With his right hand pawing the fur-filled pet dog with the delicacy with which hairy puszy should be, the professorial left hand used to neat connotations on the power-point board, cold-bloodedly rounds off several names on the CIA kill-list. The ritual look of a death row priest momentarily crosses the face of the company man. He makes his exit and heads to Fort Langley. This information is too precious to be transmitted otherwise. Who knows, those nosy FBI dogs may just have broken the latest company codes and could play games. ----Far away in a Muslim lands, predator and reaper drones receive commands to pay their load off. And on a day, dispatched may be a whole village firing into the air to commemorate a wedding party. Yes, just another day in the war against terrorism. And as Obama said: we don't do collateral damage body counts.Back to Kenya and now, I didn't see the powerlessness of the president when he ordered the KDF into Baringo to, by all means necessary, quell rustling and mayhem. It is an interesting question to formulate in the light of this: between those who rustle cattle and those who rustle the national treasury, who deserves a shoot-to-kill on sight? Both is a premise the commander in chief could work on to start things off! Currently they are plugging the gaping budget holes punched by corruption. They are doing this by overborrowing. William Ruto can not ride that borrowing spree to 2022, not even with Turkana oil flowing at above 100$/barrel. The salaries and remunerations commission, Serem's seedy body, has woken up late, but better late than never. But the surgeon's knife which must come to pass still lies untouched. It is always the economy stupid. Even the obsessive tribal politics of Kenya still resolves to the economy stupid. Nairobi county's financial blues, even if not Detroit like, needs serious attention. Nairobi divines the futures of other counties!

OURU, GET RID OF MURAGURI
This is an election year, and remember why Kaimenyi was eventually axed from the education docket. His misplaced arrogance had killed any semblance of a working relationship with stakeholders in the sector. Of course Muraguri may delude himself he bought insurance cover by roping in close relatives of his excellency the president to profit from the recent mega scam he lorded over at Mafya House, but in an election year, there is just so much rotten toads an incumbent can afford in his inner coat tails. Nicholas Muraguri is such a toad.
But who are his backers? I think for that, we have to study the political economy of the Kenyan health sector. It is a prospective fat killing for insurers and other smart predators of the emerging markets. Muraguri is being used, and if the president and family are planning to be huge investors in the privatised health sector of Kenya, the president has to choose between the long-term financial interests of his family, and, on the other hand, his re-election in the light of his oath of office to defend the public interest. –---Not that I think the president of Kenya would be possessed of the import of 'public interest', oath or no oath!
Here is a mild take from the Daily Nation.
We are learning signatures by those in government mean nothing. Bor signed the CBA of 2013. Doctors woke up to find there was no document, and if there was it was toilet paper! And so Oluga and co went to jail for trying to retrieve the toilet paper from the sewer of state!
Now we read one, Cleopas Mailu, signed a return to work formula which undertook no penalties on the strikers. But here we are with our Muraguri –--NO PAY FOR STRIKE DAYS!
I have just fished out a ksh.1000 note. It has a portrait of the first president of Kenya, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. Below a line reading FOR THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS (of CBK) is long, colourful signature. I am studying that signature! It is a government signature. What is it worth, I ask myself? The official value is written on it of course, but, who wants to bet that is really what is worth!?
There is just something about the signature of a Kenyan bureaucrat on anything which plays one for a fool should one believe it at face value! No!?
Watch the rate of inflation and see what the note will buy next month!
The MOU about the representative value of money which the treasury can't keep, is my greatest worry!

THEATRICAL DAY IN THE COMICAL REPUBLIC OF GRAFT
Let us outline the contours of a comedy. First a disclaimer, the mentioned characters have no bearing on real people, and any coincidence is purely that, coincidence! There is this concern, that is a multinational enterprise of Posho Pushers. The names of the board go like Jojoho, Kakabogo, Sosonko. You get the gist. They mill corn to produce white kaunga, and Ugali being a staple in the area, hot are the returns.
Opposite the millers are arraigned quite a stellar cast of, disclaimer, purely fictional characters to: Peteros Kennithius, Hustler Singh, Mzee Kenyalight Junior, and Evani Kidesh. Evani's sweet tooth is legendary, such sweet business .... he is called Dr. Sugar. H.S (the hustler) is a ferocious jack of all contraband trades. For instance no (public) land he saw he didn't grab. Kenyalight junior owns the country in question. His banks have the power to create money -digitally adding zeros, loan this money to the state he heads, and collect rent, aka interest. This is discovering a way to eat ones cake and have it at the same time; this is free lunch does exist! Peteros Ken is a most interesting one here. He wants to overshadow them all, and so he plays the game of a rat around their feet, navigating around and feeling nerves, gnawing to find who is asleep and who not, so that he can suddenly, pre-emptively sink teeth into a vital and incapacitate forever.
Anyway, the state looters have the aces Patrick Njoroge and Rotich under Joseph Kinyua to help in their heists and to launder the cash ---NYS, Eurobond. But the posho-pushers do not have that parasitic luxury of treasury control and a handmaid state bureaucracy. And because they know the MOU is ever tenuous, with the state looters ever bent on unilateral modifications to their interest, especially in power relations, the kaungamen work extra hard at the peoples hearts. Mbuvi Sonko's political clout in Nairobi is hard work on the streets. It is not Phd in campus syllabi, nor boardroom machinations chaired by the Rasputin Joseph Kinyua. This Kinyua is the cannibal who wants the Auditor General Ouko's head served for dinner on a platter and his blood drunk in parliament after some portion of live skinning!
NB: This odd ball of an Eduard has not learnt the necessity of getting his sums wrong. State connoisseurs of book cooking and rigging like Kinyua cannot stand that type of rogue, neither can our ODM governors in Nyanza for that matter.
Populism and electoral politics limit the space and ability of the state looter to renege on at will on their MOU with the millers. A key character trait, vulgarity, which, in the city slums, understood as street wise and common touch, catalyses populism by its anti-posh culture, is the same which would-be looter blue-eyed boy proteges like Peter Kenneth would use to disqualify the likes of Mbuvi Sonko. ---The exceptional hooligan is good enough to be Nairobi Jubilee senator, but not Nairobi governor. Character your know!
But I wager peter Kenneth wouldn't dare refer to Anne Waiguru as a super heist facilitator better at Kamiti than at the governor's palace in Kirinyaga! Would he!? It is therefore not difficult for a street rat like Sonko to ferret out Peter for the pretender and project he is. That is, his outrage is at Sonko's alleged hooliganism is contrived, pandering, parochial, selective and even PERSONAL as Sonko himself would have it. If Kenneth were worth else, on his own terms, Jubilee wouldn't be his refuge. The level and rate of Jubilee financial hooliganism, aka corruption, makes the kind of theatrics the likes of Sonko engage in, a LESSER COST TO THE TAX PAYER!
And it is the economy stupid they say!
NB: my Raila damu brother who is not amused at my criticisms of the deity Agwambo, likes to point out this to me. It is either Jubilee or NASA. There is no third way. He then ticks his fingers --Miguna Miguna, Ababu Namwamba, Raphael Tuju, Peter Kenneth, Martha Karua
.. they all make a fanfare of being of their own minds and becry all that corruption in Raila's camp. But where do they end up!? They end up where the corruption is bigger by virtue of state patronage. They endorse Jubilee. They are just w-hores swarming to higher pay! --I told him I am immune to financial inducements, but I can definitely swarm toward hot and loose women specialising in occultic sins! If Jubilee has them dangling ready more than NASA, I will be there! Nothing in the life of a man beats a riotous puszy, mesays!
What mighty men were lost at Troy, just that a man regain his favourite who-re cu-nt!?

THE FINANCIAL RAPE OF LUO NYANZA BY THE ODM VERMIN, STATION HOMA BAY
There are a lot of negative things Eduard Ouko is, but the Auditor General has the knack of getting his Audit sums right. This is why he must go. Such levels of competence are too uncomfortable for Kenya! (Later shall I wax much lyrical at how deep state intrigants like Joseph Kinyua, the rotten Prime Minister of Kenya, are burning the midnight oil to have us see the back of the book-keeping wizard. But today, my gaze is ablaze on the my very hometurf.
Messrs. Opondo Kaluma and Gladys Wanga are a pair of highly articulate Homa Bay politicians ever feuding over this or that triviality, and on the national stage too, the are a riot act; not to mention sister Amillo GesaGesa, aka The Mouth (Dhok Tung Dhano!). Howbeit at home, in Homa Bay county, you wouldn't guess they are accomplices in one of the most bestial county regimes in the land! --creeps!
Yes, to imagine Homa Bay county boasts Rusinga Island where the remains of Tom Mboya Ndiege are interned, is to recognise, in the light of the extraordinary competence of Mboya in public office, the sink and stink of the backward lurch of the pendulum of history. When fire begets ash.
Here below is a tip of how where Kaluma and Wanga come from, operates! Yap! Down the line is a date with reality check!
Awiti has mentally collapsed, left on his own, all his education and experience have evaporated! He has degenerated and passed out of civilisation, like some Kurt in the heart of darkness, or that other guy in Apocalypse now! But Agwambo the enigma too is but a brain dead zombie in a comical, surreal act of simulated half life.
Haya, wasting limited resources is sowing pain for the future generations.

THE STATE LOOTERS BEAT A HASTY RETREAT FACED WITH A SCUM'S COUNTER ATTACK
There is a problem in Nairobi for the posh, settled state looters nestled in the corridors of Jubilee where power is brokered. Handling the gangland scum Maina Njenga in Laikipia was easy. They just cynically used chapter six to bar him, by refusing to accept his nomination papers. Baba Yao too was easy, though a bit expensive they say!
Laikipia (simple) orders from above looked a good blue print to repeated elsewhere, some thought, and no better place seemed fit than the capital city where the outlaw Mbuvi Sonko is considered by them to be too stinky for such a prestigious post as governor.
And so Ndegwa Muhoro's office was tabbed to conduct the hit. --No certificate of good conduct for the Nairobi senator. Result, disqualification from the gubernatorial race! The most popular Jubilee politician in Nairobi had effectively been barred from the loftiest perk, all by inner party intrigue!
One can't trust the ---riff raff--- people to have the correct say on that!
But something went wrong. Sonko proved to be no push over. He threw up a temper tantrum which shocked even the President. --it is not just that he demanded everybody go through chapter six then, he told Uhuru Kenyatta, if a traitor like Peter who tried his best to divide the mount Kenya vote in 2013 to hand the presidency to the opposition, is now the Kikuyu candidate fronted by the party to rig Sonko out, then NO! I am not surrendering, your H.E, I am fighting it out until the people decide!'
The 'brown traitor' had earlier termed Sonko a 'grade-A hooligan and scum!' unworthy of Nairobi top seat!
In the end the party barons beat a hasty retreat to, no doubt, devise better stratagems to tame Sonko. The state looter wing of the ruling bandit class has not come to terms with its dependence on the drug lords. That is why the Peter Kenneth power play has hit a snag. He must now first cleanse the 'traitor' charge.

SPECIAL COMMENTARY: THE CURSE OF OIL 260 years after independence and a lot of oil pumping, The Oga republic of Naira does not produce indigenous engineers of whatever faculty, of whatever level, of whatever skill, even those capable of the elementary lab task of differentiating oil from oily water. Not to mention the insufficiency of technicians competent to join conveyor pipes and even weld power-hoses. And to make matters worse, the other day, I saw even the job of guarding oil-rigs offshore is also beyond the Nigerian marines! It is outsourced to a European security entrepreneur! --Yaye Omera, even sleeping with their women is beyond Oga bros, wherefore they are profitably (turning a curse into an asset) exporting all their sisters to be street by street prostitutes abroad! Remittances more handy than oil proceeds! This designed technical and intellectual dependency even for the basics of life like growing rice, is comparable to why, here in Kenya, our Yale and Harvard aces ---Henry Rotich and Patrick Njoroge, couldn't be relied on to write devolution finance bills. Howbeit we had to fly in IMF technical teams for that. At another level, this expertise dependency situation is best understood by an infamous colonial example, actually a template. Africans were barred from select professions and trades by law. There was economic and intellectual apartheid. This is the deliberate stunting of local productive forces. In Kenya, Africans were prohibited from growing coffee and other cash crops which could bring them into competition against the (white) settler farmers. In the American South, literacy itself was banned for slaves. Teaching a black slave to read, write and count carried a positive death sentence. These days of course, times have moved on some, the slave may have been admitted to Harvard or posh Yale as the case may be, learnt to read and write econometrics as the case may be, but even as Dr. Rotich risen to head the department of macro-economics at the ministry of finance, or Dr. Njoroge as an international consultant on state finances, no boss of bosses would let them 'natives' near the paper where (devolution) finance bills are written, nor will their input be required when the formulas for gobbling up the spoils from the Turkana black gold are dictated, no way, decisions are not theirs to make, theirs are to enforce decisions from abroad and above, to do and die like faithful soldiers and not ask why! In the same way, when it comes to guarding precious oil rigs offshore Nigeria, the much starred and decorated admirals of the Nigerian navy are servile to, for instance, a renegade former sergeant in the French Legion. Every where you look around the continent, the African in power is a toy! the government he runs a pawn. Here is a cautionary detail from Kenya for Nigeria. An example of how the local neo-colonial quisling elite ever SABOTAGES the emergence of a national industry. How a bullet factory goes bankrupt when a country is in the middle of a shooting -LINDA NCHI--- war? that is the same story how Kenya Bus (city transport) Services went bankrupt at a time when the Nairobi population quadrupled, and the commuter demand for transport along with it, leading to an explosion of MATATUs on the city roads! The logical line of development was of course from CITY BUSES to Tram lines and city light rail! But this linear, logical line would presuppose the productive forces are free to develop and mature logically, skillfully. But when the companies are in the hands of a 'quisling, neo-colonial hireling' Chief Executive Officers whose historical brief is to negate and curtail the local development of productive forces, the whole logical agenda becomes still-born. Cabral's penetrating candour is chilling. But in Africa today, as in most of the former colonies, the ascendancy of neo-liberalism to orthodoxy means the national pseudo-bourgeoisie is settled in the negation of the liberation dynamic and is firmly allied to imperialism in its stunting of the local productive forces. That is why 60 years on, Nigeria has no biochem engineer who can differentiate oil from oily water. In other words this can happen. The servility of the comprador class to foreign interests, their complicity in the plunder and rape of Africa, their inability to expand economic space to accommodate hordes of youth, and now environmental genocide (ecocide), creates a volatile social framework which further blows the state away from its dire duty. The state reverts to security state, simultaneously at war with the people and arbitrating the people warring amongst themselves in petty competition. Governor Nanok of Turkana must therefore take Uhuru Kenyatta's rebuke seriously. Kenyatta could unconsciously have been articulating a deadly point! Just with the funds at hand, what results if he, Nanok, MAXIMIZES their utility in the nearest possible pitch to a wirtschaftswunder or economic miracle? In other words, Is Nanok just the name of another Turkana goat who chanced along in a an ODM suit!? I will be back! Comprador goats always did need a kicking! You wouldn't have heard how quickly Texans abandoned COWBOYSHIP in exchange for OILMEN! The Turkana stone age goatherd must be relegated to what it must be, folklore!

TOWARD A NATIVE OIL COMPANY, AN OIL UNIVERSITY AND POLYTECHNIC OF TURKANA Think of why KONZA was fabricated, in line with vision 2030. But on a more modest scale, a Technological University and an assortment of technical institutes majoring in oil technological and relevant skills, are the thing for Turkana county which, for the purposes of this paragraph and economics of scale, extends to Uganda, the whole oil belt. The purpose is simple, an ABC feat in social engineering, to convert a hitherto neglected, marginalised and starving, near-extinct horde primitive stone-age pastoralists into ace techncians, masters of oil as they are of cows and goats, to mutate the master goatherds into oil and fluid chemical engineers, pipeline and pressure technicians, Las Vegas Desert Casino men, and all in one generation! that is in line with the bourgeosie revolution which kills off feudalism! ---a writschaftswunder financed by black gold, communal wealth thriftly managed and strategically invested in highly trained labour power. I saw it done in Q8, Saudi Arabia and some other oil desert islands you can think of. There, within a handful of years, shorter than a two-term governorship in Kenya, the camel was abandoned in favour of the Mercedes dessert pick-up terrano, and four thousand years of holy culture deemed instrasmutable was exchanged for modern trappings, and thereby reduced to nostalgic folklore! In the MotherShip of all oil satellites, Saudi Arabia, males went West even as women and their rights went South. But that is another story. IDEAS --Investment in skilled labour irrespective of sex. --Formation of Turkana Oil Company, TUROCO, think of the Saudi ARAMCO, are the foundations stones Josephat Nanok need must lay. He can immortalise himself by fully identifying with his people. This means fighting to unleash their productive potential hitherto locked in stone-age-like time freeze. There is only one way to unleash productive potential, and that is endowing labour with skills. And in this case, modern and relevant skills. You need state of the art schools for that, don't ya!? Then there is the water problem of Turkana. A journey of 1000km begins with but a single step. Think tank! Nanok! Are you there? Comprador shenzi!

THE CURSE OF OIL The black devil they call it in the Niger Delta. EXTRACTIVE ROBBERY Having failed to completely wipe out the native population so that the resources under their land could be exploited without native opposition, the powers that be are forced to engage other gears and stratagems. These days, as Wanyee has linked above, DISPOSSESSION is couched in positive buzz words like FDI (Foreign direct investment), chapter Free Entry. And modern economic liberalism has not moved much far from its ancestor, colonial impunity. Wanyee The leaders of weaker nations which form the meal feasted upon by global capitalism in the extractive industries, find themselves in famous catch something situation. I will revise Amilcar Cabral a bit on this at a later paragraph, but for the moment I will say, with respect to the Uhuru Kenyatta Josephat Nanok spat over Turkana oil dividends, that the son of Jomo felt the heat of being caught red-handed in the role of a facilitator, a state agent of a local resource rape. And he couldn't repulse the charge by resorting to rhetorical factology of bringing development; nay, he had personally opposed a higher rate of disbursement to Turkana, and recommended a bottomline figure of 5%, far lower than even what the bloody Mpigs themselves had recommended in the resource bill! Even if he went through his political science lessons in Armherst as a zombie, the son of Jomo still remains human enough to recognize his nakedness when awake, for it has been amply pointed out. And it blew him up, into a temper tantrum, or I can say he degenerated into a spoilt baby, throwing tantrums when it can't have its way. Ballot checks Cord leader Raila Odinga and Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok (left) during a press briefing at Capitol Hill, Nairobi, on November 301, 2016. With them are: Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho (right) and his Nairobi counterpart Evans Kidero. PHOTO | EVANS HABIL | NATION MEDIA --Yes, he is stealing Turkana oil --Yes he is facilitating a heist --Yes he is anti-the Turkana people ---Yes he is a homegaurd Nyapara. Not that he had not been warned before and had time to do his homework www.nation.co.ke/news/Raila-opposes-Uhuru-s-oil-cash-sharing-scheme/1056-3470590-12vpcmj/ So which interests pressed so on the son of Jomo, to imbue him with the courage and insight to veto the bill passed by both houses of the people!? Not that we do not know, but it is important to be scientific and detailed in these things for the sake of the nation's history. A president or emperor can be very powerful in his time, but on the face of the long, unfolding history of that nation, he be but a particle of dust. No disrespect meant, but historically, it is just His Excellency, Kenya Particle of Dust Uhuru Kenyatta, tickling the nose of Kenya! A modern nyapara can have as lofty titles
. His Excellency the President, Commander in Chief, Son of the Father of the Nation, Second Burning Spear, Kamwana Muthamaki anointed of heaven, but all he remains at core and in truth is an errand boy for looter interests from abroad, but of course well-rewarded by choice cuts of meats for himself and his family. (and that is not to say the rhetoricians of NASA would be any better, after all Musalia is Goldenberg finance minister, and Weta is oil-blocks swindle!)I took turns to visit this issue at some depth at this thread. Pondering the futures of Uhuru Kenyatta and his class mates who have a stranglehold on the Kenyan plums. Franz Fanon bellows a siren in his critique of nationalisation at independence We should study post Mandela South Africa, see if the Black Diamonds have fulfilled Fanon's prophecy. This will help us in declaring Franz Fanon now an irrelevant theorist, or if he still be an illuminating light in the pathways of the African Long March of liberation. And then The neo-colonial national bourgeoisie then
.. in the process of facilitating Imperialism to fulfil its historical role
... are under tremendous stress. Politically their mandate is to articulate and defend the peoples interests, but historically their mandate is to sabotage the peoples progress in so far as it conflicts the purpose of imperialism. It is a dangerous dance, and I propose to argue the stresses thereof, much more adequately explain Uhuru Kenyatta's meltdown in Turkana. He couldn't, can not pull this double act in Turkana, once he vetoed that bill. NB: It is also important to hold in mind, that while parliament passed the rates cap bill and the president signed it into law, Patrick of Njoroge of the CBK went to New York to tell the financial world THE MEASURE IS TEMPORARY! That is a good dog who knows where to wag its tail and who to growl at! May be in a classical case of unconsciousness, in the sense of a class can sleepwalk through history bereft of self awareness, lazy Uhuru Kenyatta is unaware of the dynamics behind his rejection of the oil sharing formula which proposes Turkanas be given a limited largesse of 20%. We on the other hand have no room to suffer such laziness and sheepishness, so we divine his futures for him. May be he will then pick up some sense he didn't at Amherst college USA! NB: Turkana governor Josephat Nanok pitched for 30%! he could be gently reprimanded for unconsciousness. Why not 50% because it is devolution time after all? Come to think of it, Conscious Turkanas can of course pitch for 100%. An oil emirate out of the desert like a djin out of a bottle! I see some in the Gulf with hardly enough people to fill Kisumu city; the rest, imported slaves! No wonder Uhuru Kenyatta rebuked Nanok for shenzi moron! No imagination!

THE MOU RIGMAROLE, TOWARD HONOUR AMONG BANDITSThere is no honour among thieves of course, neither is there honour among bandits. But usually, in professional bandits and thieves, this treacherousness expresses itself after the successful heist. The professional rule is bandits do not double-cross each other before the job, otherwise there will never be enough momentum and mutual drive, nor dynamism to pull a successful robbery, or act of banditry off. Those are jobs where real risks are run, where something, e.g ones life, is put on the line. After the job, it can be everybody for himself, which leads to a round of revenge, gangland slayings. To remedy this ruinous everybody for himself short sightedness, the gang came up as a unit, family and clan unit. That is an attempt at PERMANENCE. The gang, as a sociological phenomenon, is a tighter organisation, with an all out ruthless bend to pursue forever and punish traitors ---and their offspring------- with death. The gangs, criminal syndicates like The Mafia (Italian), dubbed themselves men of honour. It simply meant any act of treachery would be punished by death. This is the imposition of 'good' criminal behavior. But these days, with the advent of the cocaine trade in Latin America, the Italian Mafia looks a tame racket. IDENTITY POLITICS This is just to relativise the statement there is no honour among thieves. One may have to specify from which class the thieves spring, of which one waxes lyrical about as HONOURLESS. So I specify I am talking about the Kenyan petty bourgeoisie politician. Here --MPIGS LAND--- there is indeed no honour. This means the MOU's they sign are always up for grabs, are temporary ceasefires to cross one bridge and then basta. So it was with Kibaki and Raila, so it was with Kalonzo and Kibaki (Kibaki promised to support Kalonzo succeed him), so it was with Uhuruto and Mudavadi (shetani ashindwe), and so now it is with the Raila-Kalonzo corded deal. It limited Agwambo to a single presidency, or was it a single joint-run, regardless of the result!? (a lawyer's feeding frenzy at interpretation!) The MOU is dead. NASA is taking water, and that is Jubilee rising to certainty. Now let the lawyers play smart alecs with themselves splitting hairs over the content. In the real world, NASA is currently dead and sinking, until they find a new float formula ---if they can. Now they are warring against themselves and handing it to Jubilee. Jubilee simply looks better because it is relatively stable in its ticket. Uhuru is constant as Jubilee head, DP Ruto can see off Bomet CCM Rutto and KANU Gideon Moi in his hometurf. That he can. And with Kalonzo, Raila and Mudavadi bent on running as independents, committing electoral suicide, we can now move on, FF to discuss the Kenyatta succession 2022. That is the game in town. Last time around, rumour had it Jimnah Mbaru was asked to cough up 500M to buy off Baba Yao. He refused and so ended his governorship drive. Now, the rumour goes Peter Kenneth has been asked to cough up a certain amount! It is a rip-off amount which shocked Sir Peter, before a Nairobi Mpig allied to the Dagoretti man reminded him thus: 'this is about the Presidency Peter, not the governorship! A top price is warranted!' May be Peter and his financial backers didn't have the presidential rate ready, which is why he has to face off against Mike Sonko. May be they had the rate ready and the combat to be witnessed is merely ritual show! Another MOU. In any case, the only game in town is the Uhuru succession. NASA needs a top plumber.

Puzzle of a Nairobi land grab dispute. An amazing tale of just how rotten the system is!
The write narrates: The story of this land LR 11379/3 starts in 1964. But before 1964, could there be even another deeper layer of injustice!?
When it comes to land, even the current NATIONAL LAND COMMISSION is just out of its depth! Of a firmer breed will be required.

FERRY OPENS WITHOUT JOHO IN MOMBASA!
The son of Jomo has of late been giving act, performing as the best caricature of his own Muthamaki self. He has been born again, in reverse Paul to Saul, emerged as foul-mouthed public speaker of reckless tantrums. With some delight I remember this song, the coward of the country by Kenny Rogers and how he comes of age. It has lines like
When Tommy comes back, Kenny reports: Tommy opened up the door, and saw his Becky crying The torn dress, the shattered look was more than he could stand
Everyone, well, nearly everyone considered his Excellency to be little more than a tolerable nuisance. He was Moi's project all along and never quite looked a man standing on his own feet. They deemed him of wits more dim than shallow light, a mama's spoilt boy and a jolly good party man, a fella to chill with lazy day after lazy day, days on end. Few bothered to show him even the official, protocol respect becoming of his office. The likes of Ndii and Githong'o laughed off his invitations to state house, the likes of GADO thought of him as little less than Queen Anne's toyboy, the Kenyan twitter and blogosphere mocked him daily with impunity, and whatever level of politician --Millie Odhiambo, Hassan Joho, Josephat Nanok, Gideon Moi, Alfred Keter, they all made a laughing stock of him. Day in day out!
No more! Years of crawling bottled inside the son of Jomo want out! And out they get! a volcano erupts, in spurts! Huraah! the earth shakes, creatures flee for dear life, and the earth is scorched! or?
It was just time before some last straw broke the camel's back. No more, said Richard Nixon in his resignation speech, will they (press) have Nixon to bully!! Uhuru Kenyatta as recently as December last year, claimed in a hit at Raila: 'mimi sina haja na matusi yao. Ukikimbizana na mwendawazimu sokoni, watu hawatajua nani ni nani. Wacha mwenda wazimu aonyeshe uchi wake wote, na wasi!'
But, howbeit, the son of Jomo overestimated his self-control. As I write, he has gone berserk on several podia, such that he now truly is the mad man in town not to be chased lest people fail to notice the difference. But if he tuned governor Nanok down in Turkana, Mombasa's Joho was in for worse. He locked him (Joho) up, so that he, prezzo, could open a ferry in peace! And more, so that he could berate Governor without interruption in his backyard.
'Anafikiri mimi ni bibi wake!?' he fumed. Wrong question in Mombasa where they just carelessly respond with studied malice: 'Eee, amesikia wewe ni ni shogun without the 'n'!'
This is high comedy, denoting gone heads.
Whenever Sam Mangwana teamed up with the Grand Maitre Franco in OK Jazz, they generated some of the most thunderous tunes pleasant to my and other ears throughout the continent and beyond. Think for instance of Odongo, the one you know as co-operation --which starts with the robust boast, this is I the international Sam Mangwana, all the way up there with GM Luambo Makiadi, and together with OK Jazz we are riot! Music. In Toujours OK, the track I have in mind today, in the limping Kiswahili of Lingalaland, the duo muses about the bad hearts of mankind.
At 04:15 starts the passage ==mimi na wewe kisa gani
. aiya yayaah Ndugu nimekosea nini angalia makambo Kama kuna mambo unielezee taratibu heee 'Ku-gorovisha' mbele ya watu sitaki, sikia eee
You heard that Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta!? -kama kuna mambo, eleza taratibu kwa Wanjiku, kugorovisha mbele ya watu ni aibu -eee And muongo na mulozi ni watu wa kuchoma! they chorus --so, son of Jomo, make sure you are neither! But there is Joho already on your case, claiming you got your figures wrong! He is daring Rotich to cook the books for you!
-angalia makambo!
PS: It will be noted, that while major labour disputes have racked the country, of which the now nearly resolved doctors and lecturers have been the highest profiled, these crises have not formed the bone of contention between the warring factions of the elite, much less between the president and governor 01. But it is possible the clash between the Sultan and the Muthamaki is one of the perverted ways in which class struggle is currently manifesting itself in Kenya.
Real problems are so tough (like structural drought), the comprador rather deflect attention by professions of homo-eroticism in public for mass entertainment. The Roman crowd is of course entertained, but they bore easy and demand meaner, riskier performances in the arena! These displays of temper are like flaccid d.icks on a porno set, irrelevant. Something more stiff please!

WHAT IS THE DEVOLVED ECONOMIC REALITY, IDEOLOGICAL PROSPECTS OF LUO NYANZA?There is the pendulum theory of history. It goes like two steps forward, one step backward. The positive is, it always moves forward in absolute sense. Then there is the history repeats itself doctrine. The most famous is the Marxian --first as tragedy, then as farce. Local flavours can of course differ. Post-Mubarak Egypt with the advent of the Al-Sisi dictatorship has been referred to by some Egyptian commentators as 100 years back! But let us concern ourselves with our own tragedy, the repetition of the post-independence KANU regime, even as it adorns the masquerade. of devolution. For most regions of Kenya, party zoning means they are effectively ONE PARTY STATE ENCLAVES. Few and far between are of course the swing states or counties. Why, forgetting other polities for today, is Luo Nyanza an exclusive ODM zone? What is the narrative infesting Luo nationalism which, while it professes democratic pluralism, forces us into this unhealthy bureaucratic monopolism, this uncompetitive block-thinking of bleating sheep? This 'herd' unity can only be the behaviour of a nationalism under siege, a nation threatened by powerful external forces. Of course it could be a case of false consciousness, that is, it could be that our nationalism is under a fake siege, in which case the powerful external forces are but the figments in the imagination of an elite ---simulated psychiatric illusions, or manufactured and shaped fears deliberately manipulated by an adept elite to control the population under them. A contradiction exported is some breathing space created. It would be an adventurous journey to investigate what the situation is, but having no time to idle out in the field, I will just sit at the keyboard and theorise away. The family is at Church and thereafter out lunch, while I pretended headache to abscond God's grace, in preference my Jukwaa addiction to service. The only game in any town anywhere for any regime worth its salt, is of course economic sufficiency, first for the elite, but if they want to continue exercising the mandate of heaven, economic progress for the mass of the people must be a priority too. These days this is a democratic right, taken for granted, and that presents a considerable problem for colonial-style regimes. Such regimes in their fictional insularity, owe the general population at large nothing. The ideological position is like
. the native savages are contented enough with the twin dividends: one, they are blessed with the colonising, civilising leadership and (two) they are enjoying Christianising guidance! Only when the savagery of the independence struggles erupted did such myths painfully face up to their demise. Economic well-being at large, will require tremendous prudence with public finances, investment policy, modalities of rule and public participation in projects. Even if Germany's economic miracle after her destruction at the second world war is too far-fetched an episode to be mentioned even as an abstract academic exercise relative to current Luo Nyanza, ordinary common sense will still dictate the insight that, devolution-wise as we have managed public finances in Nyanza, we are on a paved road to bankruptcy and insolvency. Just like the American city of Detroit. Reading the auditor general's reports on Luo Nyanza, even if preliminary cautions, then claiming we are on the right track, will require a total illiteracy on what WASTE MEANS. Most African countries WASTED their first three decades of post-independence, and it is agreed that is how the Asian tigers showed us dust! In similar fashion, if ones eyes opened, and ones head observed, Luoland has been busy wasting its first period of devolution. That this wastage, written off as a child learning to walk, is also the general trend across other counties of Kenya, may be the tattered consolation for minimalists; but in the great game of world economies, our counties are just competing in a race to the bottom. While it is the democratic right of Bungoma county and their lofty governor to buy wheelbarrows worth ksh.4000 at an inflated ksh. 110 thousand, and Machakos to build its Tarram roads at German tarmac costs, and Garissa to CONDUCT all its business orally, I do not see the need why Luo polities should follow those illustrious examples of graft and theft! I think we fishy people should stick to the conservative market prices of the wheelbarrow, air tickets, entertainment allowances, and for transactions involving public finances we should always leave behind unshakable paper trails. There surely is no need for a Luo from Harvard to look sheepish like Man Rotich when questioned about Eurobonds! As a matter of fact, on the Luo pivot, I don't care a goat's fart if a Gikuyu Yale econometrist like Dr. Patrick Njoroge holds his tongue forever on the Eurobond, feigning illiteracy, but if he were a Luo ---O God! the kind of invective I would use on him! I learnt that from Omollo Okero in Yala. The former Gem MP taught: 'Omera, Jaluo ok nyal yudo digri, to pod eka oduogo obukre ochalo rombo ma wiye otho!' (why would a Luo have a digrii and still keep a head like a dead sheep!? Then he mentioned the names of the dead sheep! That Kisumu MCA's, while there is no water at Russia hospital, consume water bottles more expensive than vintage cognac per litre, get multi-million car-loans, pocket sitting allowances higher than medics, fly around the globe first class and rest at 5* hotels, do not look to me to be exercises in intelligent rule, no, it actually makes me think how dare we, Luos, dare think it rational that one of us can point fingers at others and yell ---like Millie Odhiambo--- you are a thief! Hubris O hubris! I see the speck in your eye But aint I blind, to the one in mine!(of course, flip side, the Luos have since learnt to do as the Romans do when they go to Rome. That is to be decomposed beings when they get to power. Mboya was clean, Argwings was clean, Jaramogi was clean, but look where that go them! Dissidence against state rot is not a profitable business, the new gospel reads! See Ouko the Auditor General is the cleanest you can get, but look what they are doing to him! You would think they would concentrate on Kidero's rot, but no!--Away with cleanliness, history allegedly teaches us! This [cultural] IDEOLOGICAL CHASM, is the headache splitting Luo nationalism, and rightly so! I am schooled enough in the Juju cults of Luoland, that is the juogi business and its PINY-OWACHO sidekick, to hint with a wink at the ancestors, that this is the problem which has given Princess Rosemary Odinga enough head pain to flee to South African Sangomas!)To be rotten or not to be! To incorporate the mores, integrate and assimilate into the obvious culture of loot and graft, the mobutocracy which is the Kenyan mode of national politics, or to resist it? To reject Father Agwambo's vaunted co-operationism with its second liberation myth, and, instead, revert to the Not Yet Uhuru rejectionism of Grandfather Jaramogi! This pressure to choose and define herself with respect to the future, threatened to blow up a fuse in the crown princess's mind. If she doesn't steel up, it will be 'lighter duties' for her, like it became of the other Queen, Anne. Well, of late we see the son of Jomo too, become rather erratic and irritable on public podia. These are signs that he is loosing mental coherence under pressure. The truth is simple. There are problems to be solved in real time. And he recognises his inertia. Frustration thus eats him up. But that is an abstract, the son of Jomo is not my concern in this domestic thread. I am rather concerned with His Excellency Jack Ranguma and the deputy county president, Her Majesty Ruth Odinga, fair winds be upon her! Wastage of finance and resources will lead to a financial crunch. To offset this, the authorities will revert to OVER TAXATION. The increase in rents -which will have an inflationary effect on the price of commodities; there will be an increase in LICENSE FEES, land rates and anything transactable. Parasitism has to be financed somehow. Where a modern, mature bourgeoisie would seek to earn keep and profit by value addition and the deployment of skilled labour to ever more complicated purpose, the comprador will be forced back to slavery modes and the bone-scraping polices of the feudal landlord. Sky-high taxing roadside mandazi sellers, vegetable vendors, mutumba spreaders, bodaboda idlers, and county ticket clerks competing traffic police at skimming PSV operators, are such feudal arsenalia of economic torture! This is my doomsday scenario for Nyanza. Broken like Greece. This is Robert Ruark in the 1950s. It is a talk between whites in colonial Kenya Now, let us upgrade with a little humor: Robert Ruark was a highly sensational American journalist who wrote some Mau-Mau-Kenya-based best-seller books pandering to the white racism of the 50s/60s Apartheid America. The two most notorious ones are called UHURU and SOMETHING OF VALUE. With hindsight, it is always important to look at the popular fiction of the ruling class of an era. One can joke around them like I do, but also use them to deconstruct the fictitious world view of the elite, to showcase them in their class complex of invisibility, or historical illusion of permanence. So do I reciprocally say the contemporary ODM party machinery in Luo Nyanza, triumphalist and ubiquitous -in full spectrum dominance so to speak, is warranted her ideological illusions of permanence and immortality. But it would be stretching things too far, to imagine the seeds of its demise in the long term are not already sprouting all round. The kind of criminal financial regime the ODM has run in my native Nyanza, beggars a ruthless historical purge. But to perceive 'criminal financial regime', perhaps one ought to have heard of, not necessarily assimilated, the concept of capitalist financial accounting or book keeping. Now, H.E Awiti of my native HomaBay was a CEO of a modern company, but try explaining why he runs HomaBay like he never heard of book keeping! (Talk about Rotich and Eurobonds!) That was when I remembered Robert Ruark's fictional characters ---or was it Elspeth Huxley or Karen Blixen---- who wrote stuff like 'The Maasais are savages with no concept of tomorrow! That is why they are giving us all their land for free!' 'Obado, Ranguma and Awiti have no concept of better. That is why they believe they are the best doing the best! And the people they lead have no concept of tomorrow, that is why they don't mind the terrible graft affliction of their rulers!'I love to joke. Draw inverse parallels. Because if I don't, I can't bear the current water shortage in Kisumu, because the hyacinth blocked the pumping ponds, 4 years into devolution. Of course I could get angry. But I like to control my anger these days and subsume it into jokes. A teacher is not a soldier. To a soldier the grit of a killer, for a teacher the wit of an elder! And now boys and girls, attack the hyacinth! --with bare hands if need be!

EVERLAST COLONISATION: THE UNFINISHED BUSINESS OF PACIFICATION it is best if one extirpates the whole indigenous population. This erases the problem at one go, leaving their land in deed uninhabited. The colonisers can then spread and believe as many fables as their imagination can conjure up. No one will contradict them, even if they say it was God himself who gave them the land as a present for their likeness to him. That (extirpation) is the option of genocide. But so long a memory, in some form, remains of the original sin, there will be your nightmare narrative of historical injustice, and open sores like the Palestinian Nakba, yes, even terrorist-inspiring story. Actually I am thinking of a case between a Samburu community and a land-grabbing ex president Arap Moi. See footnote. A look at genocidal human history in the past 500 years reveals we humans have been too civilised to visit such absolute levels of depravity. We have always left dregs behind, to remind us of the original crime; and in our stout hearts, we have always tended to make sure such fortunate left-overs ---e.g the Aborigines of Australia or Namibia, Native Americans, Maasais, Ogieks, Hotentos and Pygmies---- remain marginalised and confined to folklorish reserves. There can we study them like creatures in a controlled zoo. These days the reserves are sometimes upgraded to concentration camps, like Gaza. And these can become fearsome broods of resistance. Here at home in our Kenya, the population in the designated reserves have picked up. Expanding out due to drought, (LAPSSET-landgrab) squeezed at home, pastoralists like the Samburu and the Turkana, then the Maasai, Pokot and Karamojong' have mutated from savages to cattle rustlers and bandits in the new lexicon. The genocide by famine and neglect which post-colonial Kenya has relied on to eradicate them, has not done the job. Where the white colonial regime did not have much of a population pressure on land, and the Queen of England had more or less free hand in the likes of Laikipia and all those Delamere estates hived off in the Rift, the post-colonial aristocracy have no such luck. Worse, the HISTORICAL MEMORY of the original sin has festered into a traumatic narrative of historical injustice. This narrative threatens the pillars on which our vaunted economic miracle is based upon. It is a narrative which suspends TITLE DEEDS, and title deeds are what underpin our financial system. --If your visit the vaults of our banks, they hold much title deeds as collateral. The narrative of historical injustice holds ransom this network of private property relations orbiting about land. That is intolerable to modern capitalism. This is why the government has come like a tonne of bricks to assert the RIGHTS TO PRIVATE PROPERTY! Our capitalism does not want punctured tires just at this moment when we are visioning 2030! It is therefore time to plan for the final solution. SHERIFF RUTO RIDES INTO TOWN Here is the BanditKilla Singh talking tough, thinking a SHOOT TO KILL will be adequate to eradicate the brewing, infectious wound of historical injustice, and the Malthusian, pastoralist livestock economy trap. Being from the Rift Valley, the Singh has good memory of how he dethroned the old Kalenjin King, Daniel Arap Moi. He rode the wave of LATENT Kalenjin LAND GRIEVANCES which finally precipitated the 2007/8 ethnic cleansing of Gikuyu peasants, sending him all the way to the ICC, and finally catapulting him to the Co-Presidency. Here is a reminder, a precedent, from a page of a history book on colonial Kenya. Restless natives are demanding a better deal, but the rulers that be are playing deaf politics. This original Kenyatta is unknown to many millennials! Jailed for seven years because of political activity on behalf of his people! Power hadn't corrupted him yet, nor absolute power corrupted him absolutely. (that is how come Kalenjin nationalism was uprooting peasant Gikuyu's long after his death?) But Ruto's, and Kenyatta 1's rise, are examples of the demonstrated political power, the undeniable emotive, social and mobilising power of the narrative of dispossession, neglect and historical injustice vis-a-vis land. --Now, facing the Malthusian economics of current pastoralism, population growth and public expectations in the rising economic power house Kenya, the ambitions of native politicians forced to bang the ethnic drum to ingratiate themselves into the hearts of the people even if only populistically for the electoral period, must necessarily be seen in the light of historical catalysts. Nature, like they say of power, hates a vacuum. Faced with the delayed realisations of dreams like industrialisation, the infrastructurally unreformed and unrepentant post-colonial state grappling with the same problems of inequity in the same ways past, has no option but to enter into the mode of persecuting upcoming would-be spokesmen of the people. Articulation is defined as incitement! The way sedition used to be widely interpreted (not just under KANU, but colonial governors too) THE LEMPURKEL SCAPEGOAT I looked at the charge of murder at the feet of Laikipia North's Mathew Lempurkel. I thought of the 2010 constitution which now has no memory of the TJRC; I looked at all these commissioning of homegaurd militias, the hysterical denunciations of banditry, the insistence on
... is it Laibon Lenana's illiterate thumbprint as the act of God? and I thought God, we need a big plan, like the 2030 Vision! A picture of the Kenyan herders on the move with all their earthly belongings and families who now are being forcefully evicted to 'GREENER PASTURES', raises the question, 'livestock genocide' to teach them a lesson? FOOTNOTE: HAVE THERE BEEN LAND GRABS OF LATE IN SAMBURU? Leaving the LAPSSET land acquisitions apart for the moment. that phrase ancestral land! Not as important as a title deed he!? So ancestral land can be invaded with impunity, grabbed per force and ownership transferred per the same, and uta do? Grins official justice at you! New constitution, old constitution, same acts same justice clause! Old wine in new bottles. More on Moi vs The Samburu! Thinking President Kenyatta has been in a much-publicised parley with the Moi clan for his re-election! Go away Samburus! Shenzi, shetani, ujinga gani huu! (that is the oily presidential Nanok dressdown in Turkana the other day!) We can not allow bandits to invade private ranches, correct. We will shoot to kill the bandits. Then, on the rebound, the narrative also reads we will hang bandits (like Arap Moi) who forcefull evicted communities from their land and sold the land to third parties for a handsome profit, while reducing the tribes people squatters and wanderers of no abode! O? Community land does not have the same import in law and order as private ranches? Powerful disagreement. Raises the kind of historical grievances man will kill to redress. The new constitution is no longer adequate to resolve the crisis. Choppergate! CJ Maraga, what is this? Koti bandia? How many emaciated goats do they have to sell to hire a chopper like their excellecies the governors? Wewe CJ, when your Judges are being fakheds, you should bother to correct them, unless you are worse! NB: James Orengo the former Do-Nothing land's minister is Lempurkel's lawyer! ---you feel like laughing eh!? Raila has promised to send to jail thieves, but his running mate Wetang'ula is mentioned in the Turkana oil blocks swindle by a certain Dr Kengar MonenaYou always know when you are in a hole and still digging! Governor Nanok: who do you trust with Turkana oil, Ouru or Moses!?

A SPAT IN TURKANA, FROM JOHO TO NANOK OIL: there have been two wars in one decade in the middle east over oil. Oil is definitely a hot topic. It underpins one of the most curious alliances in world politics to date. The exceptional America, and the equally exceptional Wahabi dynamite Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A certain remark snapped Mr. Kenyatta's patience. Something like Kmwana is planning to grab Turkana oil the way his father grabbed land! There is pressure on the son of Jomo, and it is telling. Everywhere there are reports of his family having a finger in the pie in many a corrupt government deal. The NYS report, for instance, is reported to be stuck because of Ben Gethi's testimony. It was necessarily in camera, and it allegedly mentions stuff which is enough to make it plausible, a Kenyatta oil grab. These days Muigai's temper is ever fraying. It is like he is living on his nerves. It could be he is out of his depth on the job, it could be his wife (or mpango wa kandos naturally) aren't doing a good job sucking all the frustrations out of his body; then, being only human, he has to explode somewhere. ANATOMY OF A ROBBERY www.theeastafrican.co.ke/business/New-Kenyan-law-to-regulate-oil--gas-exploration-/2560-2850822-2orb87z/index.html And for the idiots who do not get the sheet, here is the small print That is the IMF wrote the FINANCE BILLS respective devolution, and the WORLD BANK wrote the OIL DIVIDEND SHARING BILL! The cream has been eaten, the butter gnawed from the slice! The role of parliament, Mpgis, is to rubber stamp, the role of the head of state is to sign it blind! In other words the spat in Turkana between President Uhuru Kenyatta and governor Nanok is between two hungry domestic dogs rolling over a left-over bone near the fence, after the feast in the main house is over. But its significance, is that it articulates real anger, and real hunger. When you combine those two, like Bob Marley sang, you have very angry men. But if it is about a whole country, the future of a people, it is a loud ticking bomb. Another historical injustice in the making! The president apparently did not carry HIS FUNCTIONAL MEMORY along with him to Turkana! Neither did his handlers import the depth of the conflict. www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2000214115/local-content-bill-to-give-kenyans-more-oil-cash OIL www.academia.edu/9571301/OIL_AND_GAS_SECTOR_IN_KENYA_THE_LEGAL_STATUS_ON_EXPLORATION_AND_EXTRACTIONSo we have sowed mines which will continue to explode under our feet as we muddle through the oil economy! Over to you Wanyee!

LAIKIPIA FORCES THE KENYANS TO TAKE NOTEA MURDER MOST UNFORTUNATE AND AN ARREST MOST FOUL! Drunk with self-righteousness, deluded in elitist invisibility, trusting in state power, tricked into absolutist confidence by a sham election, cheered on by malicious sycophants, graft captains, a sheepishly duplicituous grassroots, and fortified by the divinity of having escaped the ICC, Man Singh has come into mission, and it is a shoot to kill disbursement of law and order, all to protect invaded private property from marauding pastoral bandits. ---Those bandits have, of course, a poorly veiled motive of historical injustice underneath their drought-driven migration. More about that later. The earnest fury and passion with which William Ruto put his feet down raised my eyebrows! Then did I sit up! WTF!? When Al-Shabaab wiped out a whole garrison of the KDF over there at El-Adde, you didn't hear nor see them, NOR HIM commiserate with such vintage fury, did ya!? I kept on thinking about this as I watched Ruto fume! It was all very hush-hush, the aftermath of El Adde, the president and his deputy tongue-tied in grief no doubt, the goodly duo stricken beyond public shows of vengeful pitches. And so valiant sons lost abroad ( at Linda Nchi), were buried in secret like shameful corpses of those who committed suicide, or were disposed with the infamy with which the colonial regimes treated African resistors like Kimathi Dedan. But wait a moment! There is an important corpse. A white corpse. The comprador have gallery to play to. No? Major Obwoge was liter not deserving national attention wherever he lay dead or alive, but the Sossian whiteman and his horse are now household names, every media outlet in the country saturated with outpourings of grief from the high! ---Ndegwa Muhoro himself went to investigate on the scene! No, that Bukusu boy Juma and his Mercedez wasn't worth that! The comprador have their masters to mind. Western Televisions are showing white women in tears in Laikipia, their African dream a smouldering nightmare of ruined cottages, their delicate features besieged by arson-bent black beasts threatening bare-back puszy rustling. This is straight out of Conrad's heart of darkness! In Kenya of all places! Going Mugabe's Zimbabwe way with his war veteran occupations of 'white farms'! The whiteman's safari savannah land! The comprador class caretaking for our masters abroad must allay the worst of white fears: moran coc.ks running among in chaste white puszy, laying it waste and leaving it mangled! (it might be far from a coincidence the white nativist POTUS called the PORK at the height of the Laikipia pictures!) This is where the crown prince of Britain proposed to his Katie! Phew! What a blasphemy to have it raised to the ground! This is worse than the crimes against humanity you guys were charged with! Consequently a homegaurd militia has been unleashed with total licence to kill at will. And in the beginning it was to revenge the police killing of the 23 year-old herdsman Lemati Mpoikai, survived by a widow and a several months old baby, which set in motion a spate of arson. I checked the British tabloid papers for you, and revisited a few paragraphs from my copy of Robert Ruark's Uhuru! Sarah Korere versus Mathew Lempurkel. ON THE REBOUND, whose private property? On ending land leases, a land-obsessed elite, a Malthusian and pastoral livestock economy, and a remnant white tribe with powerful connections
and then as a footnote, former Mungiki boss Maina Njenga as the champion of the land dispossessed in Laikipia, and Uhuru Kenyatta as the CiC enforcing property rights by force. Uhuru of course coming from the greatest post-independence land-grabbing family of all! Something doesn't just add up in Laikipia. But then, is that not the same story at Yala Swamp land and Dominion, Turkana oil nd Tullow, Mining in Kwale

THE DOCTORS STRIKE 2016/2017
Anyang' Nyong'o may permit himself a self-indulgent grin of I told you so! Never has the ideological bankruptcy of a ruling bureaucracy been so transparent as when the preeminent brain in political science in that society, the progressive emeritus scholar magnificus Peter AA, in his capacity as the minister of Health, sought to end a labour dispute by the sacking of all medical doctors.
That, a few years later mentally challenged village nincompoops like PS Muraguri, or clueless parachutniks like CS Maillu, or lazy-minded confused spoilt brats like Uhuru Kenyatta, or mindless and opulent thievery apologists of governors like Peter Munya and Jack Ranguma, proudly declare to do what the great professor Nyong'o proposed, can therefore not be blamed on them.
You can't blame an idiot for doing exactly what a genius would do! That is the way I think it! The evil genius to be hanged, if one, is Peter Anyang' Nyong'o.
But the real issue, post-colonial issue is this: the social order of acute inequalaity, and state organizational form accompanying it, in the background of the unfolding socio-economic crisis, requires absolute control of labour, absolute vertical relations. In fact not just labour, but other independent organs of thought and organization must be brought to heel. This is why the press too had to be curbed, smartphone hacking software installed to spy on everybody, shoot to kill orders issued. In that fascistic mental framework, state impunity, independent workers unions are anathema. This is why the state moved so ruthlessly to break up KNUT and KUPPET.
But of course some of us teachers are chang'aa drinking village men who even go into debt for a day's sukuma wiki meal. This means even Kayamkonos and bodaboda have a higher pride than some of us. They can never ask for ksh.50 veges on credit. But it means when the government want to break our unions and steal our KNUT building in Nairobi they way they thought they could, they run into the fury of Erinyis, with the historical memory of a struggle which goes all the way to the darkest days of colonialism. ---while traffic policemen can transact 1m bonus in two weeks, ffew teachers, even thieving headmasters, can touch that scale!
Doctors on the other hand have a PRESTIGIOUS and POMPOUS sense of self and profession. Deluded in the comfort zone, Devolution caught them unawares; they have to learn the hard and ruthless lessons of squaring up to a corrupt and immoral totalitarianism.
Who wants to ban a doctor's union in 2017 Africa if not a totalitarian mindset, like Zuma's government at Mariakana mines!? ---So we treat our own doctors like Kayamkonos and then want to import Indian, Cuban, Qatari doctors to treat them like Lords?
Okay, there is no known immunity to stupidity. But a thought, this 2010 constitution which delivered us from KANU dictatorship, what is it really worth!? I never believed this second liberation sh!t myself. When people like my governor Ranguma who can neither organise hyacinth clearance nor garbage off the city precincts, have to decided the future of Kenyan doctors after their grueling study!?
. then do I think, this is thrilling historical stuff, but a living national nightmare. Reverting the devolved function to the ministry of health!?
Isn't that, diggin deep while in a hole--- the ministry whose headquarters we have reason to call MAFYA HOUSE!? And then the celebrated Maatiang'i --did he come from the health docket and leave a time bomb behind?---- has recussed himself from the University lecturer's strike!
Hehe! A bubble that burst! Lets see what bursts next.

PART TWO: MAINA NJENGA'S INTEGRITY ISSUES! A VISIT TO LAIKIPIAMr. Njenga is commonly referred to as the ex Mungiki boss. Officially now, he is bishop of the Hope International Ministry. Jubilee is rejecting a man of God. They do not believe Saul could become Paul! Such Christian fables, not to mention Forgiveness and the belief in redemption by the good lord, have not place in Jubilee realism. (may be the defector Bishop should go back to knock at the ODM door!) Yawa, Sometimes you perceive immediately you country is mocking you. Like now. Daring you to peel back masks and get to the heart of the story. --integrity issues!? I have been waiting for a catalysing event to drive the point home, so that the rest can reveal themselves to be exercises in beating about the bush. Such an event appears to have been the slaying of a dual British and Kenyan citizenship holder, Tristian Voorspuy, he of the Sossian Ranch in the wider Laikipia. Suddenly the drought isn't exactly the story in Laikipia. It is LAND, or as they say in Kenya, historical grievances in the light of land grabs. At this juncture it is important to revisit NAROK, and the informed comments offered then by Badboy David Ndii. Here is the Jukwaa thread on it. For more, see footnote. Now here is something mentioned in passing, but try tapping around the subject to see if there is a catch, a false bottom
. and may be integrity issues is the last thing on anybody's mind. Expired leases? settler communities? historical injustices? O? they want their grabbed ancestral land back!? O, they dare the SHOOT TO KILL ORDER of DP Ruto? these pastoral bandits marauding on private property!? suddenly it is not a straightforward law and order problem, it is historical injustice deep! what is your integrity issue now? Naisula Lesuuda, nominated senator, feeling the pressures of tokenism? HISTORICAL INJUSTICE VERSUS PRIVATE PROPERTY!? Now, the Kitengela Bishop Maina Njenga has integrity issues which the Jubilee nose can not handle! Your country is speaking to you in tongues fellas! You might want to bother listen. Job of Jukwaa had a most important thread right here on Jukwaa. It asked BLOOD AND SOIL ISSUE: WHO OWNS THE LAND?So, who owns the ranches of Laikipia, and the expanse of conservancies!? Title deeds seem to be missing a certain serial number! I suppose NLC has INTEGRITY ISSUES! They even tricked Uhuru Kenyatta into issuing fake title deeds in Kwale Mathew Lempurkel, Laikipia North Mpig Why again was he arrested sometime back? footnote David Ndii Let us start with the small picture, hunger.

MAINA NJENGA REJECTED BY JUBILEE, THE GHOST OF INTEGRITY?It is an important contradiction. The kind which would have been best to analyse in a cultural thesis. But here we go in daily politics. The reason is INTEGRITY! The reasoning may not be genuine, a mere pretext, but the public whisper it is, is an earth-shaker. Oh now I remember that word again. INTEGRITY! It had disappeared from my active memory vis-a-vis Kenyan politics. I remember this song from the old days in the UK. It is about a young girl making love for the very first time. The cheeky singer then invites the audience to go back to their very first time. And she gets into rhythmic instrumentals which goes on for some time. Then she comes back with a vocal grin.
.. Like ...''now I let that roll on for some time, coz I know some of you gotta go back a long, long way to find that memory! Yeaah! Gotcha!' Like, however hard she task her memory, a veteran use-ho of a mind clogged with layer after layer of filthy callosity and slime from a life of perpetual abuse is unable to find memories of pleasant sex, even if she was initiated into sex with love, I have been historically unable to associate the office of the presidency of Kenya with a possible consciousness of INTEGRITY! So I admit Ouru Kenyatta blew me out with a bang when he intimated Maina Njenga is too low on integrity to be a Jubilee candidate! I was so shell-shocked I thought it was a presidential slip of the tongue! INTEGRITY it is! But the party itself is not saying it OFFICIALLY, not yet! They instinctively recognise a booby-trapped boomerang in the making! Dr. Wily Mutunga was a much hyped legal brain who made it to CJ. I remember vividly how the Virgin constitution with its chapter tight six clause on integrity smoked him out when a case was brought before him, to define INTEGRITY, against which candidates for high and low political office in Kenya could be measured, and declared TOSHA or not! Mutunga mentally collapsed, abdicated and passed over the bride for some good old Afro-tropical gangsters rape. Man GADO has had a field day commenting on the reverse evolutionary pattern which stunted, then withered away any semblance of a budding sense of political decency, public office morality. But now from the grave where we long thought it was dead, a ghost has risen forth, to come back and mock the republic. Former Mungiki boss Maina Njenga, says the former ICC indictee on crimes against humanity who made it to president after the peoples vote cleansed him, fails THE INTEGRITY TEST to stand for Laikipia governor. But his ksh. 200K for Jubilee membership was welcome. This rekindles in the public space and internal debate which goes to the core of national morality. There is the added juice that in the run to the 2013 elections, Raila Odinga in a cynical and duplicitous move if ill-advised, had a very public romance with Maina Njenga, overriding Luo sensitivities about the activities of Mungiki in Naivasha during PEV. I always asked myself if the man thought this issue would not effect voter-turn out in Luo Nyanza. I for one described the move as depraved and asked my students to give me an alternative reading. 1. The enemy of my enemy is my friend 2. It is not friendship in politics, just coinciding interests 3. A drowning man will clutch at any straw. I can't wait to view the explication from Jubilee on the moral substandardness of Maina Njenga, which makes him too integrity challenged to vie for public office on Jubilee ticket! At least it will be something which is better than the nothingness of Wily Mutunga. Who knows, it could even force a PRECEDENT, open up a pandora's box, where other parties too are forced to have a semblance of a MORAL STANDARD, however basal and animal. But suffice is to say this ... rearguard inkling of a consciousness on integrity from Jubilee, even if disingenuous, is an indication of the relative health of that branch of OFFICIAL Kenyan culture which is steeped in rot and graft. Sense is down but not out! Just lying low, coiled, like a deadly snake waiting to be warm. It means even fuzzy Peter Kenneth, if he stops sitting on the fence like an impotent bull, can build a race on CLEANLINESS, make a mountain out of this bump. His chief opponent is of course the Hustler, a certified thief. But Pete could be wary because he has skeletons in his cupboard too. Where Governor Joho has the balls to call a spade a spade, I see Kenneth does not even have the guts to call his stepping-stone to higher glory, Kidero, a debauched looter. He is a good compromise candidate, Peter, but mundu-khu-mundu I don't think he can even return Ruto's glance. So No, like Mutunga, he wont do integrity! what a pity to contemplate a guitar wire around his brown neck!

THE MERCENARY GENERAL'S BLUFF IS CALLED: did he really move on? But this first weekend of March 2017 Could it be, Mr. Namwamba, that you had to retain your ODM membership for the practical reason, that on resignation from the party, you would automatically have resigned from your parliamentary seat too!?This is the most rational explanation. If it is, it immediately disqualifies you from being Raila Odinga's equal in one very important sense. When he resigned from the party which had sponsored him to parliament, Agwambo also resigned from parliament and there was subsequently a by-election. That is a detail which establishes a difference in character, other forge in personality. One has to give the devil his dues too. As far as you are concerned, I think your current problems with the Labour Party of Kenya, arise from your own double-play. Check the following report. what is this for God's sake!? You are a member of two parties at the same time!? --wonder boy keeping his options open!? There are things a General does not do. Raila is merely a captain in rank yet a prime mover of events, but it would appear young Generals are not of the stuff that verify that rank. Unless yours was merely a nickname. Anyway: Why didn't you settle this out of court/tribunal? Why would ODM tolerate you? You quit ODM long ago, in your own words, you are the leader of another party, LPK, and you are supporting Jubilee against Mudavadi and another Mulembe cuckold in NASA. (Last time you apologised to Mudavadi for abandoning him, and the cock has not crowed twice before you denied him again! You sure still have to find your mind, let alone voice Ababu!) But fair is to say you are not the only one. Thinking of Prince Gideon Moi Arap Daniel Arap Moi. He can neither speak intelligible Kalenjin nor Kiswahili nor English, goes the comical line. Baby Moi. Did you read the joke? Mama Ngina went to visit Arap Moi. They discussed grand children and the joys of parenthood, retirement and a good old age. Apparently they discussed dynastic unions and quid-pro=quos in detail, much as they would deny it. But unlike Gideon Moi who is still a puppy to fold tail and do as the master bids, Uhuru is of course the bull of the kraal, with all mares in the homestead farting hot and eager to be his for the taking. This means his mother in the role of matriarch in chief can not always speak for him. He had to go and accent the proposed MOU in person. Two days later the issue was put to rest. KANU will support Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election (but, YAWA URU, not Ruto for VP!). In exchange KANU will have cabinet seats, field un-opposed candidates in selected seats! The Kenyattas and the Mois did not consult William Ruto. Why not!? Now, you Ababu Namwamba. You are (may be) head of the Labour Party, or may be still a member of ODM, playing within team NASA, but are committed and pledged to support Jubilee --both Ruto and Uhuru I presume! O God! It is only logical that, if you are taken seriously, you have an MOU in your pockets. Now, do you have such an MOU for future goodies? Or had you already been sorted out, CHUTH BER, and hakuna deni sasa? You know Oburu Odinga used to sing Ababu is a mole, is a mole is a mole! I saw him laughing the other day in Kisumu, 'Ababu giri nong'iew chon, onge kuma dang' gidhiye kendo. Gigi ji te ong'eyo!' ---('Prostitute Ababu was bought long ago. Everybody knows this. Where else can he go now?') The good thing is you are young and energetic, and there is no law which says prostitutes can not excel in performance of their calling. And most men have use for prostitutes even if they ever deny it! Cornered by a rising Peter Kenneth who signals Mumbi inclination to dump him, and a Kenyatta-Moi dynastic parley which signals a formula to retain the loyalty of the Kalenjin voting block without a forced alignment to The Hustler Singh, a desperate William Ruto is likely to be forced to remember old pawns like you. Unless of course you are in truth Kenyatta's flower, or, keeping with the prostitute imagery, you will go to the highest bidder. It is a terribly disconcerting picture to imagine a talented young (ex) general as but a mere mercenary Tumboman. But the greatest insult is to the Mulembe nation, that it had to be such a shallow thing that talked of MULEMBE CONSCIOUSNESS. FOOTNOTE:
