Funkentelechy, I agree. What I can't stand is the constant whining. If things are bad then either be part of the solution or learn to live with it. But keeping on harping about how in Toronto bla bla, in New York bla bla won't help anything.
The fella simply made an error of judgement going into town to buy a silmple silly mobile phone handset. From Ngong' Hills hotel, a short drive to Prestige Centre or Nakumatt Junction would avail much better choices of phones than any you would find at the stalls in town. Don't blame the traffic jams for your poor judgement. Heck, when I visit Johannesburg, Paris or Stockholm, I know better than to casually drive into the CBD on a weekday afternoon for some petty shopping and expect not to run into a traffic jam. Why should it be different in Kenya?
I'm looking forward to Adongo's write ups on Bondo and Kisumu though, especially Kisumu because I believe that is the town in Kenya with the biggest potential for money-making especially for middle and low-budget investors.

Adongo, I was just giving you some survival advice for the short while you will be in Nairobi. Otherwise, if you insist on choking in traffic while banging your head against the steering wheel and lameting on how people would have rioted in Toronto if this were the case there, then suit yourself pal.

You exhibit one trait a lot of returnees exhibit when they come back to Kenya. You just need to relax and all will be well. When you visit Paris or London, you drive a private car into the CBD at your own peril. Taking the bus or the underground is a better idea. Similarly, when going to Nairobi CBD, unless it's early in the morning or late in the evening, better take the bus or walk. If your mission was simply to buy a phone, you did not need to go into town for that, there are shopes selling mobile phones in every neighbourhood these days. And basically, unless you have real business in the CBD, you are better off not venturing there. I rarely go into the CBD yet I live in this our Nairobi.
Great read though.

What's with ths crowds and hugs anyway? Did he just return from a few years on the war-front (KDF in Somali)? Or perhaps he just walked across the Sahara desert and survived all 120 days without water? I thought he was away for a just week or two, doing his job. hehehee, he brought some goodies from china shouldn't we all have gone to receive him with plenty of shangwe na vigelegele? What goodies? A few loans here and there and crazy concessions to Chinese companies to do business in Kenya under unclear terms? There isn't much difference between Raila and Kibaki when it comes to these trade matters. I'm yet to see much creativity from the government in this aspect.

I watched Kidero on Jeff Koinange's Capital Talk and honestly wasn't impressed. I even consider current Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa a better prospect than Kidero. Even more interesting is that the Homa Bay folks had asked him to run for governer there and had all but gurranteed him the seat but he chose to ignore them deciding to run in Nairobi. He'll probably soon regret this decision.

That's a positive development. I can only appreciate and congratulate all those who have dedicated their time, energy and resources towards achieving this. It still pains me those sad years of the 90s and early 00s when a lot of people I know just died one by one.

Nereah et al. What I cannot get is who between Agwambo and the two players initiated this meeting. Does not sit well if he Agwambo, went out of his way to seek out the two. He was a guest of the Chineses government for god's sake!!! And what is the big deal if it happens that Agwambo went out of his way to seek out Drogba and Anelka, two people who would feature in anybody's list of the greatest football players ever? It is specifically for this reason that the Chinese government was very instrumental in getting Drogba and co to move to China. They want the Chinese football league to be one of the strongest in the world and hope it will one day rival the European ones. With this photo opportunity, Raila is actually doing the Chinese a favour by lifting the profile of their premier league. Now a few more Kenyans are aware that there exists a strong football league in China where stars like Drogba play. Heck, that Shanghai Shenhua club could have even gained a few fans in Africa through this. I wish Kenyans would stop being so uptight about rather mundane things.

Nereah, see below: Some jokers are claiming that Raila has convinced Drogba to sign for Gor Mahia and in turn Noah Wekesa got Anelka to sign for AFC Leopards.

am reading the PDF...when i finish, i will get back to this subject... ....and I hope at the end of your reading you will be sufficiently embarrassed at stealing the intellectual property of Miguna. Anyone thinking it is great to read the PDF book should know that there is little difference between them and the thieves that Miguna was calling out! bla bla bla ...... pdf tumedownload na tumesoma. Quite a good read actually. Kudos to Miguna for his admirable flair for the dramatic in his writing.

I know at least five people who are currently very busy reading the book. None of them has wasted their money buying it. The internet and ftp is a wonderful thing.

HONESTLY! On what basis is the Prime Minister supposed to resign? On the basis of allegations contained in Miguna's book? And while at it, shameless hypocrisy from Jukwaa know-it-alls, seems to be perfectly in order for ruffians to demonstrate outside the OP whilst it is wrong and a threat to Miguna's life when villagers in Ahero do the same. Prime Minister will not answer Miguna. This is what everybody supporting Miguna wants. If Miguna has any substantive evidence of corruption and other crimes, let him go ahead and submit these to the authorities who may proceed to investigate and charge the PM in court. Only then will you see Raila Odinga come out in his personal defence. Hiiingine ni makelele tu. Kelele ya chura haimzui ngombe kunywa maji mtoni. Phil. There's nothing wrong with demos as long they are peaceful and non threatening, I'm sure MM would be the first to agree with that. Carrying some coffin and burning someone's effigies is a coded message and you know it. It's despicable to say the least, so is raining someone with rocks and boulders as it happened to Raphael Tuju some few months ago. It's also wrong to try and storm Miguna's rural home as the hired goons tried to do whilst threatening his family which is innocent and should be left out of this madness. Personally I would encourage even more demos throughout the counties for pro and anti Miguna as long as we keep things civil! Just so you know, nobody tried to storm Miguna's home. The demos were in Ahero, over 10 km away from Miguna's home.

Honestly if you didn't find Tracy's message to Miguna funny then you lack a sense of humour:
"MR MIGUNA WE WILL KILL YOU WHEN YOU COME BACK.WE NEED YOUR KIDNEY.SAHIZI TUTAKUTUMIA MAJINI ZA MOMBASA" Sent from my Nokia phone.”

i think anybody who wanted to read the book has got the pdf version by now. If Miguna was hoping for a windfall here, he better reevaluate.
Sorry to say it, but the book unlike Jaramogi's 'Not Yet Uhuru' or Kenyatta's 'Facing Mount Kenya' is not the kind of book one buys for his home library. I'd put it in the same category as Joe Khamisi's book, good read and containing some interesting information, but not worth taking seriously as a political biography.
The Raila haters can now download the book and get the material they want to flog Raila with, no need to spend cash on it. I bet the guys who rushed to buy it on Saturday are now regretting.

Phil, for sure, after taking the opportunity to read the useless book on pdf, there's no motivation to buy such a book. Miguna's sales weapon was in the mystery of what's in the book. Many people would buy the book out of curiosity. But the crap that's now available freeley does not inspire much. There are books that after reeading on pdf you are motivated to buy. Not Miguna's.

Hehe, it's getting too hot and they are now calling for a ceasefire. Like my friends down in Nyando say, "kik ipiem gi liech a pielo," which our good friend Jakaswanga would gladly have translated as, "Never challenge an elephant to a defecating contest," or "usishindane na ndovu kukunia." All I can say is MM started it and he better be ready to deal with the consequences. All those who were wating for an RAO slaughter are coming out very disappointed. Genius you beat me to this one for sure! though trust me i was going to refer to pielo as 'redho chi-eth'! but the translation stays the same! ;D NB:{Just realized Oloo's automated computer program translates chi-eth without hyphen as brain is in the toilet! very funny!) ;D Hehe, the second one has a better rhyme to it: liech and redho chi-eth. Much more poetic. What's up with OO's editor? What's the relationship between chi-eth and brains? lol.

KK, ODM will not hire you today or yesterday maybe tomorrow. MM says in Peeling the Mask page 171 'At one point, I asked if they had discussed and agreed on the campaign policy platform. Dick Ogolla shot in, backed by Caroli Omondi and Raila's fundraising manager Tony Chege that Raila's campaign was going to be "against the Gikuyu hegemony". We are going to win this campaign on the policy of 1 against 41. All we need to do is to make Kenyans hate the Gikuyus. We need to ask Kenyans whether they are prepared to elect another Gikuyu when we have had Kenyatta and Kibaki already....Propaganda, not public policy will win this campaign... Dick explained, as others nodded excitedly in agreement.' Now on Baba Dennis aka H.E. Hon Amb Ole Sunkuli the one with an appetite for desperate lady cousins looking for work and messing by turning Government carpet into ....you need to read Peeling Mask page 164 MM says 'I noticed an uninvited visitor; a female who looked Rwandese. When the party ended, at about 2 am, I made sure our visitors were taken to their hotel...Ben called to ask if the Rwandese should be given a ride to the hotel as she was claiming to be Jakom's guest....Next morning at 8:30 am, I met the lady leaving Raila's room'. So maybe Phil posted the pictures so that we can see that both wives are standing by their men! One Hon and the other Right Hon. KK please continue being our moderator and if you want a job there are more decent ones or are you into the mob? Those do not sound like excerpt from the book, too bad the book is in public circulation.

KK, I don't think what RR said about Tessy having an Indian baby is racist. See my response to your post in the thread. Briefly, if my wife delivered an Indian baby, I'd be mad as hell. Nothing racist there, just genetics: How on earth are a very black man and a black woman going to deliver a half-Indian baby? oh, you're wasting my time now. what if your wife came with a child that she got for playing with a black guy who wasn't you dear. what would you say then. A Ok? That's where a DNA test would come in handy. But if the baby's half-Indian, there's no need for a DNA test. The evidence of the hanky panky is quite obvious.

How convenient. The trip to Canada happens to be on the very day that the police are heading to his home to summon him to record a statement on his wild allegations. Let's face it, the man is fleeing the country to avoid having to answer to the public. Let's wait and see if he will be back in a month like he claims. Like I said earlier, your pal has too much aggression, some contact sports during his youth would have done him good.

Kathure; With a lot of respect; I do not represent ODM. My views are not ODM views. I am not an 'ODM operative', whatever that means. Please stop speaking about things that you do not know. Whereas you are entitled to your views, they do not belong to this thread.... which you are now derailing. As a moderator, you should know that. You have demonstrated nothing, perhaps except the limits of your own intellect. You are backing up the wrong drive way. I suggest, very politely, that you move on. All the best, RR roughriderYou still haven't told us why you hate Indians so much. Or why you referred to Tessy's son as being of Indian stock. What the hell is that? The kid is African and Indian. Must be a lovely looking boy. And if you had the ability to make a human flesh of your flesh from 2 tiny winy little cells, how many would you have brought home so far? Or as long as they're not of Indian stock it's Ok? Get over your hypocrisy you guys/fellas! I think you are being overly melodramatic and quite disingenuous here. The reason Musalia should object to having a half-Indian baby in his house are very obvious. If I had a wife and after 9 months she delivers a baby who is half Indian despite the fact that both my wife and I are very black, that would be a seruous matter. In fact, as the song by Omondi Tony goes, "Siku hiyo nitaua mtu, that day I'll kill somebody." The argument here is not on the baby being Indian, the argument here is that the baby is not his. There is a reason why a lot of men take DNA tests on the children they are supporting. To prove if they are reall ythe fathers.
