we thought we would give people the flexibility of posting as guests without having to register as members.
this privilege has been repeatedly abused by a familiar stalker/heckler well known in kenyan forums like mashada, rcbowen, kenyaniyetu and elsewhere.
unfortunately this has forced us to take necessary measures to protect the integrity of this forum.
from now on, you can still visit and browse the board as a guest, but if you want to post on jukwaa you must log in. which implies that you are required to register as a member.
we simply do not have the time to be dealing with anonymous hecklers who have nothing better to do with their time than to disrupt serious discussion forums.
any inconvenience caused is highly regretted.

Kudos for this forum. Keep it up. However, OO, can you do something about the background. To me, it is a tad too flamboyant. You seem to have this penchant for bright colours! Thats just my personal observation, in good faith
Just curious: Iam an IT tyro, How do you bust stalkers, multi-handlers, hecklers at the point of registeration and eventually log in?

Maddox:
Welcome to JUKWAA and thanks for your comments. About the rather garish background- ignore it for now. The skins will be changing from time to time- somewhere in the cycle we will get to sedate and calm...
About multi-handlers and stalkers, let us just say that one of the advantages of being the recipient of over 200 hate messages on a daily basis over a three year period from four or five Kenyan forums is that you become very familiar with the language, their preoccupations, the targets, the methods and even the timings of such miscreants. One of the most amusing sideshows is to find a stalker arriving on the scene with a freshly minted handle to "console" one of his or her flaming victims. In any case the preventative measures are based more on psychological profiles, literary traits etc than on technical/IT finesse. On top of that, it would defeat the whole purpose of keeping this forum stalker/heckler/demon poster free if I were to detail all the measures used to thwart them. Let us just say that they will just have to try a little harder on this forum...
