The legislators, Cyrus Jirongo (Lugari) and Julius Kones (Konoin), argue that Raila Odinga no longer has the mandate to hold the position of Prime Minister since he has lost the support of a significant portion of members of Parliament. The National Accord and Reconciliation Act, which forms the basis of the coalition government, recognizes the leader of the party with a majority in Parliament as the legitimate candidate for the Premiership. Currently Mr. Odinga holds the post owing to ODM's numerical supremacy over PNU in Parliament. The legislators however called for a repeal of the accord to allow “for a leader with a large following of MPs to assume the position of Prime Minister." The duo spoke duo during a fund raiser in aid of Kimulot Educational Fund in Konoin constituency Kones said circumstances had changed since the National Accord came into force in 2008 and said most MPs no longer support Mr Odinga. “Who should be the Prime Minister? Raila with 40 MPs or William Ruto with over 60 MPs,” he asked a crowd in his constituency on Saturday. The crowd roared back, “Ruto.” “The spirit of the accord has changed drastically. We call for the repeal of the National Accord and Reconciliation Accord to accommodate these changing circumstances," Kones said. He added: "Right now a Prime Minister with a minority following in parliament is blackmailing the government.” Kones supported calls by legislators from PNU to pull out of the coalition government saying they (ODM rebels) would support them in their quest. “We are ready to form a government of National Unity with the PNU side even if it means repealing the national accord,” he said. On his side Jirongo said Mr Odinga no longer enjoys his initial following and should not hold the position of Prime Minister. “You no longer have the following, why should you insist to be the Prime Minister?” he posed. Jirongo added: “Raila Odinga got the position of Prime Minister because of the strength of ODM at that

Absolute nonsense!
How many of those MPS that Ruto purportedly controls are ready to seek a fresh mandate from the people? What a load of crap listening to thugs who are supposed to be in Kamiti, I have abetter solution.
My view is that rather than waste time listening to white-collar thugs like Jirongo, accompanied by warlords & land grabbers......lets cut a long story short. TWENDE KWA DEBE WANANCHI WAPIGE KURA, so we can start these things afresh.
Its the only fair thing to do!

...and Ruto is the "leader" of which party...? I just cant wait till summons (...am praying for warrants...) will put this Ruto and Uhuru circus to a screeching halt.
These two are behaving like a species of toads that puff themselves into a "big" round ball whenever they feel threatened by their biggest predator, which happen to be snakes. They hope that the snake will see how "big" they have become and will thus be a tough job to swallow, so the snake hopefully gives the meal a pass...
Ocampo is calling...

desperate times call for desperate measures. wow, now the lords of impunity are setting the stage to grab the people's party? i shudder to imagine what's going on behind the scenes as the partners in crime (ruto brigade and pnu/kkk) look for anything to clutch onto in their desperation.
i sincerely hope RAO is safe.

I am glad other folks do realize that the stupidity designed to save the necks of the Ocampo six(should they be indicted) is on a precipitate terrain. I can see the implicated intending to bring the country down with them. Kenyans should be more vigilant and on guard as we are witnessing an a political landscape that is rapidly changing for the worse and is being dotted with scary beacons not least of which are possibilities of killings, general insecurity and take over. Agwambo had better watch this group very closely and I pray now than ever before that the PEV victims and survivors get due judicial recompense through the ICC. The sooner the better.

Even the two know their views are utter nonsense. But that does not stop it from being politics worthy of our politicians' time - time for which we pay them (or for which they rob us) bulks of shillings.

All these happenings by team KKk etc reminds me of a saying in Dholuo 'gibro yie ni omena en rech' loosely translated as 'they will know that omena (dagaa/fishbait) is fish'. They are yet to see what is coming to them. Kenya is not the same as before, since the new constitution we are not going backwards watu wamerauka, people are watching and we won't be fooled anymore. These people don't know what they are talking about they seem to forget what led to us into having the NARA the premiership, the current government as it stands etc cheap politics at this stage won't do. As many of you have said earlier these people are asleep on the job and are not aware of the affairs in the country, let alone what is stipulated in the new constitituion. I say let them keep digging that hole they will be surprised as most have already been overtaken by events. They need to get a fresh mandate from the people then we shall see who is fooling who.

jukwaa, here is my pesa nane. first, i endorse wholeheartedly the stand-alone posting by our reporter and the analysis there in. its spot on. mbili, may i hazard the view that ruto is a prop, those who we should be worried about are the foreign and local masters whose desire is the destruction of odm and its ideological front. this is a point that i wont belabour as its self evident. tatu, the frontal attack on odm and its leadership, the media construct of it as a party at war and in shambles, in fact the eulogies of odm from the likes of kamale and our newbie, moses the kuria, are good to the party contrary to fears from some quarters. with no competition in sight nor equal, odm was at the risk of lapsing into complacency.the ruto nuisance coupled by the pnu engineered bad press, is helping the party a great deal.its think-tank may out of necessity be praying that these hype and propaganda neither takes a life of their own to the extend of consuming their perpetrators nor end that soon.the reason being that unbeknown to odm adversaries, these media attention are a godsend diversionary. it makes the enemy too preoccupied on the imaginary thus deflecting attention from the real happenings, the likes of kamale would be surprised if orange house were to have an open day and be granted unfettered access to its war room and strategy for the political battle. when you hear odm say it is ready for election ' even if its called today', know that this is more than just truism.the level of interest and passionate attacks betrays the strength of this party. and this is where ruto comes in which brings me to my fourth point. nne. with known facts that even certain foreign statesmen have interest in odm and its demise, the ruto nuisance and especially how its being underwritten is easy to understand. initially we were being told that a former bureaucrat, who is obviously the wealthiest sitting mp in kalenjin country was the one funding ruto nuisance.today, the financiers are both from within and without.we in odm are aware that ruto is not his own man, that he is on an assignment, one that began in earnest before the life of this parliament. tano the scheme against odm, raila will come a cropper however water tight they are if but for one reason:that which the likes of man kama and the rhs, would in frustration call luck but which we who knows better understand as a divine mandate. just when you think you have ensnared odm's raila, just when you are certain that you have his Achilles heel, when you are confident that you have isolated him, alienated him and reduced him to what you conceive of him,he somehow, get past. you may borrow his modus operandi and counterfeit his moves and even attempt to think like him but ask musyoka. i am saying that while raila spent his youth fighting for change, ruto spent his on you know what and ruto and his masters ought to be reminded that they are on a mission that moi with his wealth, awesome intelligence, state machinery and global reach could not actualize neither could the likes of oile, livondo, murungaru, mzee kibaki, murungi, kalonzo and uhuru. so ruto may or may not succeed taking over odm but we will only take him seriously the day he succeeds in taking the majority of kenyans from the man they rate as the next president in all opinion polls. my pesa nane.

Hail Ruto! Power unto him. On a national level, Ruto couldn't match Musalia Mudavadi, who beat him for the number 2 slot in ODM's '07 primary. Right now, Musalia would extend his thrashing of Ruto by an even higher margin.
Ruto should stick to his day job - demagoguery against all the wrong enemies! Let him enjoy temporary warmth inside the Kraal from which his own bullet that shall fell him when the right time comes.
After all he can eloquently articulate a flip-flop without batting an eyelid. Ruto was for ICC before he was against it. He was against TJRC before he was for it. He was against the local tribunal before he was for it. He was for regional devolution before he was against it. He was against a pure presidential system before he was for it. He was for Uhuru before he was against him just before he was for him....Ruto was for Raila before he was against him....he was against the PM position before he now wants it....what's new?

job and Phil… When facts are laid bare as Job puts it you cant sugarcoat that but see to it that Ruto knows he is fighting without a cause other than for his selfish self. This undresses Ruto and opens him up, he needs to be told and the masses needs to be remidned contantly. I think its damage control time for ODM and as an outsider my small tiny advice is why cant this excerpt that you have spelled here in Jukwaa be blown up by ODM to remind the masses especially in the a section of any of the dailies. Or in the ODM website if there is any. He was for Uhuru before he was against him just before he was for him....Ruto was for Raila before he was against him....he was against the PM position before he now wants it....what's new?Damage control need to take centre stage now. Truth be told this country is going to the dogs again at this rate. And if ODM doesn’t prepare itself properly at all levels impunity has the mechanism to trounce it. Again! Q? Is it part of ODM strategy that there shall be lullness in defending the PM against such public shouting match or is ODM smarting up for bigger and better things and is nolonger interested in retort to the kalenjin brigade? There seem to be little if any defence being given to Prime Minister especially from the MPs allied to him moreso from the defunt pentagon other than the usual LL MPS? Does this portend a mass movement countrywide? Or has most MPs been bought to shut up!!!
