Hey FELLAS
to borrow from Adongo! But to be clear, unlike brother Adongo,I'm only talking to the FELLAS.
When I saw that nok had started this thread, I laughed. A sick laugh really, because ain't nothing funny about this. OMG men getting whooping from women. The women learnt from the best and have now perfected the art of the whoop!!
You see this whole outcry is pathetic in light of the reality on the ground. This reality is that it is women who are victimized on the daily by men. And not the other way around. Reminds me of apartheid days when the whites brutalized blacks 24/7 and when the blacks answered say by exploding a little bomb in a white mall there was an outcry. O.M.Y, PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MURDERED THEY'D WAIL!! Naturally, the millions of BLACKS MURDERED BY THE WHITE REGIME AND WHITE INDIVIDUALS GOT BARELY ANY AIR TIME. Some people's lives and security are worthy of protection while others are dispensable trash. Now you take stock of that fellas. Have no fear, all of the sisters who love you more than you will ever love yourselves will be out to defend you as is your hard working Maendeleo ya Wanaume my black brothers. Please send those donations to strengthen your organization fighting for the protection of men from women you sucky babies.

Many Men have being beating their wives to boost their ego (or for the lack of one) Now its pay back from the women i guess.
Jokes asaid. Its time to stop these power fightings. Its idiotic. Especially seing that it affects the all Family.
HAve you read what the Maendeleo ya wanaume chairman said about men being the family head and should be respected? (With respect he means "feared") A Family head who is drunk most of the time and wants to rape his wife when he stinking like a roten meat.
It's about time Couples learned how to equaly respect each other like indivuduals. No woman is a mans Property and vice versa

Kathure look at this and let us know if you would wish this to anyone www.nation.co.ke/News/Husband+lucky+to+be+alive+after+panga+attack/-/1056/1324472/-/e3mkcb/-/index.htmltwo wrongs don't make a right, just coz men used to abuse women you are saying it is okay for men to get this kind of treatment from women? I thought we were past this nonesense that anyone could abuse another just because they can. we know that some men are mistreating their women but still it does justify this kind of retaliation. There are other ways this can be addressed. I am suprised at your post sista!

As we speak, countless women continue to suffer silently in the hands of men with no one to speak on thier behalf. Truth of the matter is, women have been suffering for many years, some loosing thier lives under domestic abuse but most never make headline news. A few men get beaten up and suddenly there is an uproar, why the double standards. I am in no way condoning what happened, every life is important and should be treated as such. I live in a small Kenyan community in the west, where not too long ago, we burried a mother and her two lovely children slain by thier own father, an alcoholic, who could not live with the fact that his wife was separating from him. The problem is much bigger than meets the eyes.

Moesha,
My point was, no one has the right to abuse another. you pointed out "used to", this was both ways , men were also being abused by women then, it was something that none talked about coz it would make them less of a man in their world. The world has changed and this is something that we should all be working to contain and I know women have suffered more in the hands of men.

Don't marry a lady from Central Province.
She will beat you to a pulp.
Its serious business
Yaani, F.F.U fanya fujo uone
Wanaume wakule mdomo tuu, lakini wapi.

you treat your woman right, she will reciprocate. women from central have often complained about the negative effects of local brew on their men's virility and marriages, why then are we surprised by all the recent happenings?
tell them to stop the habit of imbibing vast quantities of traditional liqour it's really that simple.

Akinyi,
To be fair to the men, women are also not saints in the issue of domestic violence. Its only lately you hear it in the news. I guess maendeleo ya wanaume is busy marketing their society.
Some women can be evil. They often torment their men with psychological battering - stripping off the men dignity with obscene words and/or behavior.
Actually apart from the big muscular body, the men get to fear such women and that could lead many to drinking in order to get courage to hit back.
Anyway, Domestic violence shouldn’t be a blame game. It is a serious matter that brings curse to generations and generations of the family.

I suggest that our government should reinforce our soldiers in SOMALIA by ordering all NYERI women to go to the war front.

Kasuku, you must be aware that the majority of domestic violence victims are women right? this is my reaction to the outrage (by the fellas ;D) on reports about the relatively small percentage of men being thwacked. Hey, I am not trying to apportion blame and i totally agree with your view that domestic violence is an epidemic that affects both men and women. All i noted is that alcoholism seems to be a major trigger and the aggrieved need to go easy on the bottle.

Akinyi, if men from Central are not up to the task & virility is all it's about, then outsource men from the rest of KE. If that's not allowable, then the ladies there need to write up an MOU with KQ stewardesses & start importing certain items. Batteries are not included... www.capitalfm.co.ke/lifestyle/2012/02/15/ladies-lay-off-that-vibrator/ Somehow I suspect the problem is deeper than that, matriarchy have been part of the culture in the past
