Since no one in UDF can stretch up the Muliro gardens, I can only guess that the attendance will be equal to or less than the crowd that graced the same venue last week!! I'm assuming that all of MM's supporters stayed away from RAO's rally and that the supporters of the latter will be nowhere near MM, nevertherless, the pundits are waiting with the ratings & the spinning.
I don't see how MM can undo any gains that RAO has made in western but it's his democratic right to fight for the votes regardless. To many, whoever will carry the votes from this region will only be known come March 2013 and if I were a UDF consultant, I'd advice MM to focus more in this region than elsewhere !!
MM has been in active politics since 1989, that's 23 good yrs and yet has no real record that he can run on, I wonder why!!! RAO this and RAO that or Messi & Pele riddles won't work for him. How can he convince folks that RAO ought to retire yet has been in gov't longer than Raila or why exactly should RAO retire?
MM must find his message and stick to it, it's the art of differentiation!!

"My community...this is my time...." Kabetesi must help MM coin a message he wants to sell to Kenyans. Ruto has exhausted the noise about Raila and it didn't work therefore it's insane for Musalia to swim in the same boat.

Mudavadi is all hype and he seems to believe it himself. When he applied for the open position at UDF, his job description entailed his pursuit of all manner of schemes to vanquish Raila. He was supposed to take over and maintain the public face of anti-Raila antics as Uhuru and Ruto moved on to more national issue driven agendas. Typical Mudavadi; as soon as he heard the crowd cheers, he believes he has arrived. Now he really and truly wants to become president, further complicating matters for Uhuru/Ruto. He is in fact indirectly asking them to give up their bids. The man cannot simply keep to the script. What he did to ODM, he will do to G7/8. Wacha tuone.

As expected, Mudavadi took Kakamega by storm as he addressed his first UDF rally at Madinde Muliro Gardens.

It seems Mudavadi is having a very good outing in the campaign field so far. The man had a very good week so to speak. Apart from the much talked about Madaraka day prominent role that he played, he had earlier had a field day in parliament with his URP and TNA allies and ended with a very good and well attended rally at Masinde Muliro Gardens. I tend to think that pundits could be underestimating this guy, he might just be the surprise package.

Lets give the guy benefit of doubt but it is worth noting that crowds are can be very deceiving, Kalonzo had them in 2007 but all came to naught. Considering that he was in his home turf this crowd was expected infact it was kidogo. Can you imagine what crowds Uhuru or RAO would attract if they were to hold rallies in their home turfs. I specifically mention the two because they are the only contenders of mounting a serious campaign as well as draw crowds all over the country others are just side shows.

If it's true that the office of the president 'sponsored' a group of GEMA elders (3-5 from each county so am told) to MM's rally to spew such nonsence then the rest of us are in BIG trouble. People, the stage for the mother of all PEV is being set right before our eyes! Elders want a Kikuyu, Luhya alliance ahead of elections ........The elders said they attended the rally just to see if Luhyas have accepted UDF party and ask Mudavadi to give them the elders for engagement. Mudavadi promised to provide elders in one week. Elder Gichuru said Central province is ready to work with the Luhya community though Mudavadi and UDF. "The game plan is to galvanise the Kisii, Kuria and Luhya communities in Western Kenya to team up with the Kikuyu community," he said.......www.the-star.co.ke/local/western--nyanza/78633-elders-on-a-mission-to-foster-an-alliance-ahead-of-polls

These primitive tribal-alliances (a) only escalate tensions unnecesarily (b) would immediately crumble the moment voters realize they're nothing but ploys to force Uhuru down their throats. Ironically, the same tribal argument would be used to reject the project.

Where exactly do you get this idea of PEV? Could you be having more information than the rest of us? Reading through the Star article you provide, I get a sense of elders out on a selfless mission to unite mwananchi and not to cause rifts. If in their view, Mudavadi provides the calmness and steadiness necessary for such a mission, we should all support them. Remember penye wazee hapaharibiki neno.

A picture speaks more than a thousand words! And the Tower of Babel is not disappointing. Mara Kikuyu, Kalenjin, Kamba alliance. Then now it is Kikuyu, Luhya, Kuria, Kisii alliance and screw the Kambas and Kalenjins. What next? This is just lovely. Keep digging please. I particularly like the style of writing in that Standard article. Kudos to the writers.
The G7 alliance was founded on the tenets of hate and fear of one man only. Really, who expected such glue to hold for long? Such unions don’t last long simply because of the poisonous in-house atmosphere which ultimately breeds intense suspicions. It's safe to say the G7 is dead. Even UK point persons are denying it ever existed.
In a way, the collapse of the G7 is a disappointment. I was hoping to see two strong sides, ODM-reforms and G7-status quo impunists, battle it out kwa debe.
Meanwhile, ODM is on the verge of forming it's own alliances, the HOJA alliance is DOA-DNR (just ask OO)… so yes, interesting time ahead.

Apparently political cannibals are on course with their script,Kalonzo was done away with ages ago, they have now chewed the non-starter Wamalwa & time has come to spit him to the gutter poor boy, guess who is next MM he will be easy to chew just like mince meat, then WSR they know he has too much hanging over his head with regard to the PEV being viewed as the guy solely responsible of evicting OUR PEOPLE as Uhuru puts it from Rift Valley & by the time they are done with these two, the road will be clear for the Prince, descendant of Africa's biggest land grabber to ascend to the house on the hill. End of story. Like they have always said it is not rivers that join streams but rather streams that join rivers. Big boys have massive resources & will stop at nothing to achieve their goals including recruiting broke hatchet men like Bonny boy to do the dirty job whom they realized his potential when he finished Kimunya.

Here we go. www.standardmedia.co.ke/?articleI....gs-down-G7-team back in the early years when playing footy there would come a time when one team played skillfully, and had mastered the art of dribbling, weaving, maneuvering and carpet passes as it was called then and some impressive x by y formations but the other team totally devoid of tactic/strategy would simply kick the ball high in the air, as high as possible, and then a mad rush/scramble for where/when it lands and then repeat. this would frustrate even the skilled players and eventually they'd start playing the same way. yeah i know footer stories are tired but my point is, these new kids on the block aka G7 G20 unlimited alliances or whatever are doing just that. kick the ball in the air and a mad scramble which the media is frantically feeding the public. too much sensational intrigues with very little substance behind it from the time they started, it just appears like everyday they kick another ball high in the air and then everybody scrambles around it. i mean seriously the nation gets excited about who is forming alliance with who. at which point will we start talking about what are these parties/alliances/candidates/Gs offering kenyans shame on the media for feeding this frenzy

Nereah, Mudavadi is very ready to Rambo. He has smelt the kill and is not leaving anything to chance. I am told his former party is shocked at his new found guts and organizational skill and are having a rethink on how to tackle him especially in western which is slipping away.

Are you intentionally insulting kenyans? 1. Mudavadi is a puppet 2. He is being controlled by Mt. Kenya Mafia 3. Follow the money ( it is easy to see where it originates from) The money pushers used to push the money to Mudavadi's camp from the GODFATHERS don't know how to keep secrets.. they feel so important that they leak out the secrets.. same as YK92 STYLE when Ruto and Jirongo were used to push... money... 4. Mudavadi is a lame duck.. the word on the streets is that he is a Paid, bought, kept man with no voice.. REMOTE CONTROLLED ;D ;D ;D ;D I GUESS money $$$$$ being poured in by his controllers is being well enjoyed by Kenyans.. ( that was Kenya citizens stolen money from government coffers anyway).. KENYA HAS A VERY INTELLIGENT SOCIETY... MUDAVADI AND HIS HANDLERS ARE WASTING THEIR TIME.. BUT I'M GLAD THEY ARE FEEDING SOME HUNGRY KENYANS DURING THEIR COUNTRY TOUR ;D

mwalimumkuu,
nice seeing you. i am aware of the excitement among anti-raila/odm circles mostly informed by credible but harmless reality that wycliffe bolted out of odm with a cache of its secrets. those who care to know are being reminded that odm is such a complex democratic outfit so much so that it is resistance to adversarial tendencies like those exhibited by forces behind wycliffe's premature,ill-conceived and ridiculous machinations.
as i will attempt to demonstrate in my thread siasa moto moto, wycliffe departure is not only godsend for odm as your jukwaa senior philip stated earlier but more importantly a headache for the so called g7 alliance.
note:by the way, did you see the top item on the star newspaper's corridor of power?
