MEDIA ADVISORY KNC Offers New Directions for Siaya County -Nairobi, January 23, 2013Tom Okore, Governor Aspirant for Siaya County on a KNC ticket today called for the people of Siaya County to rally around the Kenya National Congress in charting a way forward for the people of that region. Speaking at the KNC Party headquarters in Nairobi Mr. Okore said that there was hope for the people of Alego, Ugenya, Gem, Rarieda, Ugunja and Bondo despite the shambolic ODM primaries which were riddled with ballot stuffing, blatant rigging, double voting, kidnapping of returning officers, culminating in the ODM Electoral Board swindling winners in the parliamentary and county primaries by replacing their names at that last minute only to submit them with losers or even with individuals whose names were not even on the ballot paper to begin with. Mr. Okore pledged to the people of Siaya, that if elected, a KNC County Government in Siaya would: • Ensure that the wishes, aspirations and demands of the people of Siaya would be respected; • That democracy would prevail at all levels; • That women would be at the frontlines of all issues in the County; • That youth empowerment would be a priority; • That transparency, good governance and accountability would be hallmarks of the KNC Siaya County Government; • That concrete steps would be taken to address and redress the deep rooted issues of poverty, marginalization and under development; • That Siaya plans for long term prosperity would be in line with Vision 2030 and other national initiatives to make Kenya a middle income country and a leading hub for investment and business in the East and Central and African region; • That peace, reconciliation and national unity would be a cornerstone of Siaya County Government policy.

Let Mr. Okore campaign on his own independent platform. Let him sell his policies to the voters of Siaya County.
No need to make reference to ODM nomination process.
We will meet at the ballot box. Bookmark this thread and lets revisit after March 4th.
Tuko Tayari.

The level of INTOLERANCE by some ODM die hards on this forum is startling. If some of you are talking like this now, BEFORE the March 2013 elections, what will happen if CORD forms the next government?
I heard one of my good friends say on Ramogi FM this morning:
"Akwayo anyuola ni kik umi ogendni moko paro ni ka Onagi okawo loch to wabiro layo ni ji e alot."
Translation:
" I urge members of our (Luo) community not to make other tribes fear that if Luos form part of the leadership we will urinate on the vegetables ( on sale at the market)."
Incidentally, from what I have been hearing from many Siaya voters, they do NOT have a problem casting their ballot for Raila Odinga.
It is ODM that they have a problem with when it comes to the Governor, Senator, MP and other County positions.
