Friday February 15, 2013 - With 16 days remaining to the March 4th election, Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta is organising an elaborate campaign trip to Nyanza region which is a home turf of CORD luminary Raila Odinga.
Sources from Uhuru’s campaign secretariat said Uhuru and his running mate William Ruto will be flying to the region next week in their last bid to woo the Luo and Kisii communities to vote for them on March 4th.
It will be the first time Uhuru is visiting Siaya, Raila’s backyard since the campaigns started.
Buoyed by his excellent performance in the Monday’s Presidential debate, Uhuru is going to Nyanza to plead for many votes and to campaign for the many candidates he has fielded in the counties, Senate and National Assembly seats.
Uhuru has already dispatched a total of 40 land lovers and several buses to prepare the ground for his trip scheduled for next week.
The DPM will tour Migori, Homa Bay, Kisumu and Siaya counties.
