Monday March 11,2013 - Deputy President elect William Ruto on Sunday cried at a church in Karen, as he remembered the journey they have taken in order for Jubilee Coalition to win the last Monday’s poll. Mr Ruto, who was accompanied by close family members, Information Minister Samuel Poghisio and former Turkana Central legislator Ekwe Ethuro, was overcome with emotions at faith Evangelical Ministries in Karen. “I have not cried like this for many years. The only time I remember crying like this was when I was a little boy and my mother is here to attest to that. My wife knew me as a strong man because she never seen me emotional like this,” Ruto stated. Ruto said God, in a special way, had given the Jubilee Coalition victory in March 4 General Election. “The same God who gave us victory against all odds will do more exceedingly and abundantly for us. It will be more than the people of Kenya want. God is going to do great things for this country,” Ruto said. Efforts by his wife Rachael, who was beside him at the dais to calm him down proved futile as she too got carried away and also wept alongside her husband, as they were both overcome by emotions. I began to like Ruto some few months ago...he now has a special place in my heart. My the Lord help him as he leads the nation to prosperity. Let the fear of the Lord be upon him....and let him tremble before his Creator. He now has a broken spirit; and this is what the Lord has been looking for in Ruto. Good luck young man. I too have put the two in a special place in my heart. This has also taught us all a lesson that in everything we do we MUST put God first. I remember Uhuru/Ruto going round the country praying and being prayed for and some rubbished them saying "is that all they can do?' This victory has been made possible by God and by all means they have every right to cry. God is great and He will lead this nation to greater heights. And for the opponents please know that these two are the chosen ones by God and any fight you put you shall fight against God in which you will never win. Let's all embrace each other as brothers and sisters and work for the generations to come. Anonymous 11 March 2013 03:10
Just like all of us, our Deputy President is human. May the good Lord shower him and his family with blessings. Good luck William. Anonymous 11 March 2013 03:16
for the Two principles elect, its purely Gods doing, look at the humility.....,we pray that God will continue using you to take this country into the next level. Kings are born and ordained by God not chosen. Anonymous 11 March 2013 03:16
He has the fear of the Lord in him and thts one thing that will make him prosper in his life and struggles, Plus his wife, she a real wife and supporter. Standing with her family and huby in prayers. Kenya we have been waiting for such leader who will call for an inter denomination thanks giving day, afta God fights for them. Dosh dosh 11 March 2013 03:24

I remember it was in 2008 that I first noticed or paid attention to Ruto. I hearn a number of his speaches and I said "this man can one day be president." Someone around me was quick to point out "... this is one of those people who will be taken down by the case" ... meaning PEV. I hope the guy did not do the things he is alleged to have done.

I am a christian and I wonder what is wrong with this country and by extension Africa. In this part of the world 'devout' leaders like Ruto do not have a Zacheus moment. Seemingly they encounter Christ but fail to give back what they unjustly are said to have gotten from others. I am not judging my brother Ruto but he has several cases that I can think of in which he has seemingly chosen not to do the right thing. In this part of Africa we have born again leaders like the late Chiluba who was corrupt and a dictator. I think WSR is following a well trodden path. Leaders after God's own heart do not yet exist in this country. Tribalist voters simply seize on the slightest level of religiousness in a leader to justify their support. Hypocrisy of the worst kind. Some of the christians who have responded above WOULD NEVER vote for a leader from another community except theirs.

hehehehehe- I hope Miguna Miguna will write a book about how Ruto broke down in tears! No not yet! I have a hunch Onyango Oloo will be looking for Jaluos who can work with Uhuruto to give it a national face! And who better to call than the pugnacious Miguna! ;D
