MUSALIA MUDAVADI in SECRET talks with President UHURU KENYATTA and WILLIAM RUTO Tuesday March 12, 2013 - Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has begun discussions with President -elect Uhuru Kenyatta about a possibility of forming a post –election coalition that will unite all Kenyans. Credible sources said, Mudavadi on Monday met 20 MPs and senators elected under the Amani coalition and briefed them about his preliminary talks with UhuRuto team. They gave him the go-ahead to negotiate a new coalition. Mudavadi, who is also the United Democratic Forum (UDF) party leader, was briefly in the Jubilee coalition but left to form the Amani coalition with KANU which is headed by Gideon Moi. In the meeting, Justice Minister Eugene Wamalwa was selected to head the negotiating team and Gideon Moi who is currently the Senator-elect for Baringo County, to chair its parliamentary group. Roba Duba will be the Secretary of the group. Some of the KANU members were concerned that Deputy President–elect William Ruto might not welcome their inclusion in a Jubilee government, but Mudavadi dismissed the fear saying Ruto is a charismatic and a brilliant leader who wants to unite the country for the benefit of Kenyans. www.kenyan-post.com/2013/03/musalia-mudavadi-in-secret-talks-with.html
