www.nation.co.ke/News/politics/-/1064/1720328/-/b00au7/-/index.htmlPresident-elect Uhuru Kenyatta Thursday met four presidential candidates in the last elections at his Nairobi home. Mr Kenyatta said he was willing to work with Paul Muite, James ole Kiyiapi, Mohammed Dida and Musalia Mudavadi in building the country. A dispatch on the meeting from the Presidential Press Service said Mr Kenyatta had pledged to “serve all Kenyans equally and without discrimination”. Mr Kenyatta also pledged to work with the losers in the presidential race. Though Raila Odinga, Peter Kenneth and Martha Karua did not attend the meeting, Mr Kenyatta said the fact that the four had showed up for the meeting was “an expression of goodwill”. “The President-elect congratulated the aspirants for conducting a spirited campaign and articulating the real issues that needed to be addressed to move the country forward. Saying political competition was a healthy way of entrenching democracy…(he) pointed out that political contests should not amount to disunity and enmity,” read the statement. Deputy President-elect William Ruto attended the meeting where Mr Mudavadi, who came third in the polls, urged Mr Kenyatta to unite the country and “to take appropriate steps to ensure all Kenyans feel part of the new Government". "Mr Mudavadi added that there was need to bring leaders together without delay,” noted the PPS statement. Prof Kiyiapi “observed that the real challenge facing the country was not legal but political” because “electoral loss can lead to tensions dues to unfulfilled expectations”. “Consequently, Prof. Kiyapi emphasised the need to build bridges across the political divide in order to bring all Kenyans together,” the PPS statement read. “Safina leader Paul Muite urged the President-elect and his deputy reach out to all leaders, saying that legal battles will not secure the healing the country requires. Mr Dida pledged to support the new Government and called for tolerance and patience among Kenyans,” the dispatch added. Mr Kenyatta, therefore, reiterated that political leaders need to embrace each other in the spirit of togetherness for the benefit of the nation. Mr Dida was accompanied by his running mate Odongo Onono while Prof Kiyiapi was flanked by Winnie Kaburu.

NowayHa, You are on a roll on Jukwaa with this Uhuru thing. Here is a slight pre-caution. Because you know Jukwaa has a reputation to defend , you should venture into nuance when you relay the Kenyan Media. When the DN says president-elect UK, you should add the detail, whose fate still hangs in the balance due to two serious cases in court, one on the validity of his election, the other to do with the ICC.You notice the difference between the Jukwaa version and the DN? If you omit those two facts, court cases, in a report, you straying really far from reporting reality. Imagine those in Botswana who do not know the insides of our situation reading ONLY the DAILY NATION! It would count as misinformation! The deliberate economy with the truth version! You catch? ;D

Forget the fact that Nyachae of CIC thinks Raila is no longer a PM whilst the law is clear on when the cabinet ceases functioning!
