Apparently the honey-moon in the anti-Raila coalition begins to wake up to the reality that Hills will always look down upon valleys!

According to Mr Keter, the Deputy President is a thoroughly frustrated man in government but is unable to take any action due to lack of an alternative political strategy at the moment.

“We meet Mr Ruto, look at him and talk. These things are discussed but he fears talking about this matter in public. He fears ridicule from ODM and Cord supporters,” Mr Keter stated.

The legislator further claimed that those who have gone public on the silent discord within the coalition are quickly summoned and cautioned.

“When Senator Charles Keter spoke about some issues the other day, he was summoned and told to go slow; and even me when I first raised concerns about this issue in Kericho they called me but I told them off . If I must be a sycophant I can only be one for the people of Nandi Hills. I am very bitter about this,” the MP stated.

“A group of sycophants and well known corrupt personalities have crept back into government and are fast taking control of the President and his deputy. This is what I am opposing,” he added.

Mr Keter further claimed that Kenya is being mortgaged to China, saying the debt ceiling had been broken following the launch of the standard gauge railway construction by the President in Mombasa two weeks ago.

“We are going to pay Sh400 billion extra for the new railway line then sack 100,000 Kenyans in the public service citing lack of money; fire people from parastatals who are close to some of them. It is so painful,” the MP said.

Mr Keter said URP legislators will be pushing for financial independence for the Office of the Deputy President, claiming that most Rift Valley legislators were unhappy with the subordinate treatment accorded to the office.

“We are pushing for changes to have the Deputy President accorded full financial independence. And we want to appeal to our TNA colleagues to understand that we love Jubilee but if they are not going to treat us with respect then it will be unfortunate

Deputy President William Ruto has rubbished claims of discontent by some coalition members of the Jubilee government.

He dismissed as “petty politicking” allegations that the union between United Republican Party and The National Alliance was under threat as a result of skewed appointments in government.

An article carried by the Sunday Nation quoted Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter saying the Kalenjins were getting increasingly impatient and claimed that the Deputy President was also unsettled buy the state of affairs in the Jubilee government. (READ: URP unhappy in government, MP claims)

“Things are not working as expected. The appointments are skewed towards one party yet our people were told this is a 50-50 power sharing plan,” the legislator claimed.

But the Deputy President dismissed the claims as a “hangover from the days of half a loaf of bread” in reference to the former grand coalition government.

“I am telling these politicians especially those in Jubilee to style up. We have a country to run, we have a manifesto to deliver on and there is no time for petty politicking,” Mr Ruto said.

He was speaking in Thika where he led 17 members of Parliament at a harambee in aid of St Bernadette Catholic Church Ngoingwa. They were hosted by area MP Alice Ng’ang’a and her Ruiru counterpart Esther Gathogo.

“We cannot run the government through the media or propaganda. The President and I are experienced enough to drive our development agenda and do not need brokers or middlemen. This is the time to ask what can be done for the 40 million and that’s our focus,” he said.

Noting that the government was steadfast and clear on where it is headed under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Deputy President said they did not need middlemen, interpreters nor brokers to show them how to run a government.

Ruto was speaking today at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Ngoingwa in Thika where he joined the congregation for a Sunday service and a fundraiser in aid of the church. The Deputy President criticised those whom he called junior politicians from the jubilee coalition complaining through the media for allegedly being short-changed that they were suffering from hangovers of the past.

“This is not the past coalition government that was stepped in complains about who is being denied this and that privilege, it is a government led by a hands on President with tremendous abilities and an able Deputy who are aware of where they are leading this country,” he said. Ruto made it clear that the President and himself were seasoned and experienced politicians who knew how to drive the transformation agenda of this country, adding the government was keen on seeing through the recently launched construction of a standard gauge railway line, completion of the multi billion expansion of the Jomo Kenyatta international airport, and other infrastructure dotting the countryside besides the general improvement of Kenyans lives and will not be distracted by empty talk in the media about nonexistent friction in government.

He said, “We are running a focused and efficient government that will change lives and take the country to the next level, we do not therefore need middlemen , brokers or interpreters to show us how to go about it.” On the media bill, Ruto emphasized that the government had no intention of gagging the media adding that the constitution had enough safeguards to allow space for dictatorship. Noting that the government is not against freedom of the press or any other freedoms, the Deputy President said the government had no intention of rolling democracy backwards by gagging the media. The Deputy President was taking a cue from more than twenty MPs who dismissed any suggestion that there was disquiet in government.

The leaders who included the leader of the majority in the senate Prof. Kithure Kindiki chided those trying to drive a wedge between the jubilee coalition partners saying they should not play into the hands of the opposition who have not come to terms with their loss in the general election in March and were fomenting trouble in government with the hope of assuming power should the government collapse.

So far the CORD lot seem completely clueless on how to engage as an opposition perhaps for being overawed by the tyranny of numbers. Then they would stop peeping into possible cracks in the Jubilee coalition hoping it would help them!

The fairy tales politicians tell! That is why there is something called war which more often than not intervenes in the conduct of public affairs, to bring things back to a more realistic perspective.
The Whiteman believed himself. Kenya was a whiteman’s Land, especially her Highlands. And actually just like most of Afrika, Kenya was uninhabited by Humans. Those savages running around naked, you possibly couldn’t imagine them humans, could you!?

The Jomo Kenyattas, Milton Obotes, and a host of figures who soon, a few years into independence, bit the dust in a spate of coup de tats that plagued the continent. ----And the men in uniform who overthrew them, produced some of the most colourful charlatans of all time. Think Bokassa and Idi Amin, or think of Mobutu the Hen of Antonov wingspans!



In Kenya we had the civillian illusions of the professor of politics himself, Daniel Arap Moi, and they were so silly, to make them public discourse, an authoritarian state was constructed to bully ----manually by torture, detention and impoverisation--- the population into compliance and sing such enchanted praises:

I did not need to dig very deep to unearth their scumbag past. The collapse of the National Produce and Cereals Board, I have reasoned, can not be excused from the incompetence of William Ruto. [Mtu hawezi kuiba mali yake --for those with an ear to remember!] And Discussing Mr. Kenyatta’s tenure at the finance docket is simple archive work on Jukwaa. He was a disastrous failure. Not only can he not count ---error after error, he was positively illiterate.

No one is peeping into possible cracks in JUBILEE, CORD doesn't need that, its been said before, learn from your own experience or learn from others experience, URP should learn from ODMs experience in NARC government, Ruto is so proud not to admit that he has been duped, he is now declaring loyalty to the president, yet he knows its only a matter of time before the masses starts to complain publicly and demand action then Ruto will not control the masses anymore the way he controls the elected leaders under URP.

We as CORD should not ridicule URP in public that we told them so,but rather we should understand them because we were in the same situation before.

Deputy President William Ruto's party URP is plotting to introduce a motion to impeach Devolution Secretary Anne Waiguru. The MPs behind the scheme have been speaking to individual URP MPs as well as some from other parties as they ramp up support for the motion even before it is tabled in Parliament. The move could strain relations between the Jubilee coalition partners.

The legislators are furious with the Cabinet Secretary for, among other things, removing National Youth Service Director-General Kiplimo Rugut via a text message. Waiguru transferred Rugut to the Ministry of Sports in a move that has upset URP members. Rugut was replaced by a civilian, Nelson Githinji.

Ms Ann Waiguru expresses consternation that members of the National Assembly want her sacked as Cabinet Secretary for Devolution and Planning.

She did nothing illegal or out of procedure to warrant an impeachment motion, she insists. What started as a sectional grouse by Rift Valley MPs in the ruling coalition over the removal of Mr Kiplimo Rugut as director of the National Youth Service has snowballed into a major impeachment move attracting MPs from across the board.

Asked why the move to kick her out has gained such traction, Ms Waiguru appears nonplussed, saying that she has no idea and the question would better be directed to those fronting the initiative.
In a conversation at her Harambee House office on Wednesday, Ms Waiguru was non-committal and very tight-lipped on most queries.
