The problem of human beings and politicians for that matter is that we are all self-centred and begrudge our neighbours' good fortune. When the party leader attempted to stem the increasing discontent in the party by trying to marry the two warring factions in the party, some thought that was a masterstroke that would stem the discontent in the party. However, some of those who thought they had been left out rushed out shouting foul play. For people like Otuoma who had been campaigning for the position of chairman of the party,a fourth vice chairman's position seemed like a slap in the face.face. Incidentally looking at the line-up of the discontented members i noted very curious faces of James Orengo,Mohammed Junet who have been on the forefront defending the Party leader against real and imagined ills against him.
If you pride yourself as party that has a"D"in its abbreviation meaning democracy which is a dictatorship by numbers ,then you cant resort to boardroom selections, you got to take the hard road,go to the people to elect the people they want, anything else smacks of failure to manage the party and by extension a lack of management skill that is key for national leadership.

I don't think we have to wait too long to see whether it comes a cropper or not. According to the two mainstream rags, things are starting to take a turn for the worse: Proposed party list sparks fresh fallout in ODM and Raila allies turn down party posts. This should not be surprising at all as when one digs back in history, we see this honest reflection by one of Raila's trusted confidants: SourceIn essence, Raila is making the exact same mistakes he did in the run up to the 2013 elections. In aviation, there is a something called " The Get-home-itis Syndrome" defined as " when the desire to get to a destination overrides logic, sound decision-making, and basic instinct. This urge to push on regardless of the data telling you that it might not be the best decision can often result in mishap". Bill Clinton once said: " If you live long enough, you'll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you'll be a better person." The point is has Raila learned from the exact same mistakes he keeps repeating over and over again before crash landing? Unfortunately, I don't think so.
