"kenya's most vibrant and dominant political party"@ Dada Nereah ODM isn't any better than the other tribal outfits calling themselves political parties. How comes the only "known" faces we watch whining on the news are all from the same area? You know them, yaani kina Nyong'o, Midiwo, Orengo, Caroli, Kajwang' and Oburu? Is that really the face of Kenya? These are the same characters who hounded our brave Big Mig out of his job as if he was a sadistic serial killer. How sad. Never mind... Dear Destiny,....... If these men in their power portfolios --Immigration, Land etc, had delivered services to set themselves down as national leaders, performed, all would be well without irony on the western front (or the lake shore for that matter). But even within Nyanza, they would be hard-pressed to maintain their seats. That is why during the recent ODM locational elections, even Homeland Nyanza was not spared chaos. That is the fwamka leadership for you. And I do not see it propelling Raila to State House now. It would be a snakes pit. Raila can win I think. But not with his fwamka-think tank. Neither can he win with the Duol I come from. But if he re-invents the omena-think tank, he will sail all the way! methinks. TOWARD A SIMILAR ECONOMIC PERSPECTIVE? To what extent do the CORD and JUBILEE manifestos differ, in what they would put in practice as economic policies for the country? Are they united in the so called VISION 2030? the path thereto which has been structurally determined, leaving room for only cosmetic re-adjustments. I want to propose, that in terms of REAL ECONOMIC DIFFERENCE, VISION ON POLICY AND ACTUAL GOVERNMENT PRACTICE, the Jubilee government does not come from Mars and Cord from Venus. They are all planet state-robbery outfits. In the recent stalemate when MPs, even before their swearing in, were already holding Wanjiku up and demanding she open her purse some more, I do not remember they were only MPs from one side of the supposed ideological divide. This is exactly as happened in the last parliament, when we called all of them MPIGS, because we looked from ODM to PNU, and back again, but we could not tell the difference. All were beasts snorting away at the trough at our expense [that was b6k reporting]. It appears to me those elected to the 11th Parliament, given some of their wild pronouncements to even revise their taxation laws and send the Remunerations committee home, is in totality a continuation of the same impunity we witnessed under the GCG monstrosity. This United Robbery Front, Cross party, cross ethnic, which we are being set up for, leads me to warn: We have not moved, and the defeat of CORD at the presidential tally, is not the defeat of the progressive agenda. It was merely the defeat of the pretenders there to. Jubilee's inverted isomer rejected. There is no progressive party between cord and jubilee. Jubilee is simply more genuine in its practice, cheating less, while CORD is pumping its chest about its credentials, but all false tone. Toward a genuine tone, note and content, is why I blackspot Kababu. How will CORD try to block Ruto from business on account of the land court case against him? If they try, Wetangula will be called to answer questions about Tokyo embassy and Turkana Oil blocks. And it should not be too difficult to throw him in the cells if he refuses to indulge Uhuruto. Otieno Kajwang', would of course be called to answer some questions over disappeared client's money; and Anyang' Nyong'o to help with investigations about ... something to do with NHIF tenders. The list of CORDERS with their flanks open to lethal sword stabs is long; and to keep these safe, I believe they will see the sense in cooperation, and accepting the offers Uhuruto negotiators will no doubt put on the table. It is with this in mind, that I am minded to write an open letter to Ababu Namwamba and in part, Kalonzo Musyoka. Cord's presidential ticket for the next election. If they want to win that is! They must embark of a great house clearing operation now, or the next election is already lost. Now, with Raila as their Libero, roaming the country at will, starting fires for Uhuruto to run and fire-brigade, they jump start the gun. The idea is Uhuruto will be too intimidated to arrest Agwambo. Kweli siasa motomoto! and it is CJ Mutunga who chwalod the mach --stoked the fire! Blackspot: is a humorous reference to a famous pirate practice when they switch captains! Next time: Initiating Namwamba as in an African Bush first Kill.I am working from the premise Namwamba at a later date will run against Ruto for the presidency, after the Kalonzovs Uhuru race has done its course!

i gather that kibaki's successor is heading to western kenya where his deputy was a couple of days ago in what some cynical observers brand as the "lets move on" tour. there are expectations that the two vacant slots including the interior ministry would be filled before he take to the stumps in western. indeed a local paper has even suggested that wycliffe would be named the cabinet secretary in-charge of the significant docket. the siasa moto moto bit is the fate of one onyango oloo and today's media report of the surprise snipe at kibaki's successor by tna chairman over his cabinet appointments where the over 50yrs as our phil noted, constitute the majority to the chagrin of the youth. then there is the feverish whispers in the high end streets of nairobi by the chattering class and by good measure in diplomatic circle and west end golfing fraternity that to my surprise seems to validate the latest issue of gossip in the weekly news rag about the man who my senior kamalet prophetically labbeled a dead man walking. i also have it on authority of a member of my round table who is a close relative of a second term mp (who was in the inner sanctum of dictator moi's government)that the ruto camp are livid over the appointment of one rotich as the treasury chief and are plotting for some very embarrassing comeuppance in both the lower and upper houses where they wield the lever.so our biggest o could after all be right in his must read thread

The purge, given Raila can not be tackled without excessive risk, will be vindictive and manic ---the emotional unravellings of Kazungu and the government speaker in public should qualify the qualification 'manic'! na ishitoshe, the siasa moto moto bit is that what the evil geniuses meant for their good is now stinking to their crowded heavens. the calculus is appallingly redundant. it was flushed down the sewer with the moi's vestiges.the proliferation of the mass media t the villages and hamlets, the rise of the kenyan critical mass and the ever expanding democratic space, makes it even difficult for the louts, fakes and outright cheats to con kenyans this time round. here is gaddo's Apenji, Nereah wa Amadi, To enni nene itho nyar Amadi to ok wang’eyo? Koso marang’o isedoko kuom-diel e Jukwaa? What news, O thy Nereah of Amadi, Do you still breath the free air of God And wander time between Heaven and Earth? Or have your days under The Sun set? And given way to the last phase before Judgment day?((((())))) Bas, siasa motomoto wa! Moi's project all along!? I think many foresaw long ago, that the attempts to enact the political parties act in the new constitution, and the clauses to hinder defections and streamline party structures, so that the political prostitution of the elite could be curtailed, would be circumvented or subverted by the same, because their interpretation of being outside the government, occupied serving the important pillar of democracy called opposition, is that of drought and banishment from the trough of plenty. They are in politics to be in government, loose or win elections. And so the ruling man can fish, and catch some eels ! And I am not talking about Bett nor Marende. Though Marende is interesting because he was once a dazzling pretender to the title of Solomon to Wanjiku. Now business opportunities have smoked him out as bent. He has neither the guts nor the backbone for long-term stint in service of Wanjiku, whom we know does not come easy! HERE IS THE SHIFT IN THE BACKGROUND WHICH WE MUST WATCH. Uhuru Kenyatta re-adopts his running mate of yonder, Musalia Mudavadi, as William Ruto gravitates toward senator Moses Wetangula. Luhyaland and Western ---that is where your boy Ababu Tawfiq comes from, has become the epicentre of Kenyan politics, the place where the next presidential election will be won or lost if you believe some. www.the-- On the other hand, all through the year, for people with an ear to the ground, grapevine was Mudavadi should have been in the cabinet, were it not for William Ruto’s discomfort. Perhaps the same discomfort he showed in ODM when he was MDVD’s deputy? Not to say the untold story of how he helped set up Mudavadi for a ritual humiliation during the ‘’shetani incident’’. [that was when in a corner, Uhuru Muigai intellectually fainted and surrendered the top of the ticket to Mudavadi, forcing the likes of Ruto slap him awake and whip his silly butt back to sense!] But Muigai the son of Jomo, as Daniel Moi’s project, knows the Old Giraffe wants to crown his career with one last masterly kick. Smashing Raila completely by showing the superiority of his project of yonder: the Uhuru-Mudavadi presidency which was torpedoed by the Kibaki Tosha madness. The professor of politics is not retired from the game yet. Ruto can not wait for the man to die. So long Moi lives, Ruto fights on two fronts with a deadly foe. So deadly, that self-survival instincts have forced Ruto to sound out Wetangula, who, being a CORD principal, means Ruto is investigating a bridge back to Raila. Investigating: I have a Chinese proverb for this circumstance, but I wont use it until I find a dholuo equivalent which has the word fish! But here now is Mudavadi who has been invited to join the cabinet, in a move which means Uhuru Kenyatta is daring Ruto. www.standardmedia.co.ke/?articleID=2000103189&story_title=mudavadi-s-dilemma-over-slot-in-uhuru-s-cabinetVery informative, this standard article. Captures well the issues at hand. 1. Short term business priorities which need immediate gratification. Business men who supported a particular candidate want to reap on their investment, and that means government contracts, and that dictates their man join the government. The court and personal hangers-on also want the perks of power. 2. Long term. Opposition politics should be principled, defeated ones using the time-out to re-design their appeal and policies, to better convince the electorate next time. 3. In Kenya and most of pre-industrialised political polities, should we say option two is a mirage? So the winner can take it all, including buying-out the opposition. Unless another factor enters the equation. In Kenya, that factor is, in my opinion, a changing population balance, which I will define as a reduction in the net % voting block of an ignorant peasantry. The destitute proletariat is a major political quicksand. And so tough choice when one wants to defect, as below. Totally green about how government business is transacted: meaning she has no corruption network. Same thing I heard them tell of Raychelle Omamo, or, as one fellow brutally put it: Omera Kidero donjnwa kanyo imaknwa lemo. In-gi bat man-gi ahdung’ ma yawo yo! Omamo ong’e mana yawo bamne kende --jowa! ----Get in there you Kidero and fight our corner. You pack a punch that signs contracts! Omamo is just a bed warmer! ----That is the brural truth about politics as a business venture for the parasitic class that wants to use the state as a method of primitive accumulation. We have seen this weekend too how Kindiki and Kabogo are pressuring Uhuru to out the cartels in the SGR saga. Loot is the game at the top. And those not in the loop, will go devious. The two girls Wakhungu and Omamo? What can they do to defend themselves, with nobody arguing their competence or incompetence, but just their ‘’unconnectednees, greenness in graft methodology, and reluctance to mingle with the home crowd boys and serve pu-ssy locally!’’ –they are unreachable! Ever swinging butt elsewhere? MUDAVADI THE BAD CALCULATOR ALWAYS A PROJECT.Khalwale advices Mudavadi only to take Uhuru’s job offer on the grounds that it is an MOU he will not be a presidential candidate in 2017. That reading appears to me to be correct. But I think Kenyans are even smarter than Khalwale opines: they already know Mudavadi is to all purposes in the Jubilee coalition. That is how come he left the ODM! MDVD should just complete his move. He is beyond shame, and relevance. . Read more at: www.standardmedia.co.ke/?articleID=2000103189&story_title=is-president-uhuru-kenyatta-about-to-appoint-musalia-mudavadi-to-cabinet&pageNo=2
It is an intriguing thought, reading William Ruto’s OTHER reasons for investigating the Wetangula axis.[ Well the Uhuruto tandem is splitting and each partner is exploring greener pastures for the future, but that aside.] Sir W illiam the Knight views Seneta Weta as a very formidable warrior, a fellow journeyman more ambitious in the long-term; a ruthless ground operator with gravitas ---that is the power to sway by combative nature in a crisis. A man who in his inner resolve wants go places. And Ruto has reason to either inherit him from Raila, or join him with a whole new deal: WETA, RAILA, KALONZO, RUTO, against UHURU, MDVD, NGILU, GIDEON MOI; and a battle royal at the Coast! a THRILLER. Come, baby come, 2017. The ICC which formed the cement riveting the Uhuruto blocks together, has been dissolved. The ICC clouds over Uhuru have cleared, and when Michelle Obama kisses him next week in DC, the son of Jomo will get a pant-exploding stiff at his complete rehabilitation. It will be when the Americans enact the price –- which they will: his total subservience to their AFRICOM strategy--- that he will will choke, if he has the intelligence to perceive the repercussions that is. BUT ICC, no worries. That is taken care of. Ruto must still hold his breath; I think he is in the clear, but the forces that be will want him to fry a bit more in uncertainty, to make him more malleable for future use. He has to be panel-beaten. He declared his support for China, so reason must be rammed into his head somehow, and this ICC thing is an opportunity to show him who his true friends are, or, bluntly put, to know who his boss ought to be, and where he must pay tribute. He takes the deal he will be back home, free to plot for his future without Bensouda’s channel five perfume torturing his presence. Nereah, when we close this ICC chapter, the SIASA MOTO MOTO will burst the surface. These newspaper articles are just minor indicators of a ruminating bowel of the beast. Kenya. Like tremors and gas spurts emanating from a dormant volcano, they warn deep down is a combustion chamber working 24/7. When the burst comes, it will be a spectacle to behold. And for some if not many, casualties to mourn. Kenya, is alive. And we are hot! Yawa yuora, chier iduogi. Amisi. By the way, that mishap Wetangula had on his way. The signpost bullet. I can be read as a shot across the bow! What is a shot across the bow ?

MADARAKA WEEKEND 2014: A TALE OF TWO REPUBLICS.WHILE BABA WAS AWAY, MANY THINGS HAPPENED. NOW BABA IS BACK, MANY THINGS WILL HAPPEN.No nusu mkate: sirikali iko imara! ---President Uhuru Kenyatta 01-06-2014 MADARAKA WEEKEND 2014: A TALE OF TWO REPUBLICS.PROLOGUE:Like in her last prayers, kneeling Kenyan female student before riot police. An image from modern Afrika. This image disturbs my consciousness and conscience. It is the image of a young female slave who tried to escape and is caught by bounty hunters. They will ravish her abusively, before bringing her back to her master. Because he had said: do with her what you wish, break her dignity into a dog’s compliance, but just bring her back alive. She will be a living monument of deterrence.
This is the same mentality belying the gang-rape of Dalit teen age girls, then hanged from a tree in India, and the police harassing the parents who reported the crime instead. This is power, inculcating powerlessness to resist. This is a wound in the soul of our land. The Afrika which treats her women like this, must be destroyed. It has no place in civilisation. But the kneeling position of the educated youth before power is not the story ! NO NUSU MKATE WILL BE, but CHIT CHAT OVER THIS AN THAT OVER BEER, ANYTIME31-05-2014. A clearly re-energised Raila Odinga was at Uhuru Park doing what he does best. Rousing populist rubble. Making home runs. Telling Uhuru he is in power, but the social base is narrow. An impostor. 01-06-14, President Uhuru Kenyatta was at Nyayo Stadium, going through his official motions. And there was Evans Kidero too, smiling and shining in his official capacity. What a change from the previous day . The president could not resist an answer to the poke, going off cuff to ridicule the chief noisemaker of the streets. Telling him sirikali iko imara, hakuna nusu mkate business this time, but the state house doors are always open for a cold beer, caviar, and roasted pond fish chops! To discuss the bad fortunes of Gor Mahia of late! Carried away and enjoying himself in kind –the same way Baba was enjoying himself in the diction of WHEN I WAS AWAY the previous day— Uhuru Kenyatta forgot his deputy Ruto had outruled any nyamachoma get togethers with the Gor Mahia noise-makers! instead the prezzo mockingly told them hakuna shida: dialogue is what we called for ever since our awesome mandate last year! At another level, William Ruto rose to the occasion. Passionately and earnestly articulating purpose to Unity; emphasising Jubilee’s resolve to national cohesion; enumerating achievements; declaring loyalty to His Excellency and certifying the coalition rock solid. (that last of course required a high dose of amnesia, given he and Uhuru are just back from the Rift, after some fire-fighting in the wake of Anne Waiguru’s incendiary behaviour with a man named Rugut.) Listening with the heart therefore, audible was a gravely chime of nervousness punctuating the speeches. An unspoken realisation that something is nagging the soul of the nation, even the faithful. There had been leaflets in Tinderet warning partners to hama. Could be a prank, but the national coverage was edgy, totally unaware of the possibility of a joker at work. Hmm. Madaraka therefore had to have a showy element of make-believe; grandeur had to be re-asserted, re-affirmed; Achievements chronicled, competence revisited, plans outlined, own trumpets blown –full chest. I think the government argued her case well. After all Madaraka day is a party for self-congratulation, and even me, I wouldn’t choose a family birthday to analyse my marital hiccups! I am likely to be very touchy with my partner on such a day, and avoid unnecessary eye contacts with any mpango wa kando present. So once again. Uhuruto performed well. And congratulations. But for the future, I will warn that they should avoid petty congratulations. They are a modern act. It should not the President and his deputy telling the details of local hospitals, local petty loans to this and that society, government expenditure on this and that. The respective cabinet secretary will suffice, in other fora. (Otherwise, it becomes easily notable like I did, that while Uhuru gave a series of figures for certain projects and their economic equivocation, he avoided the anglo-leasing figure which has been the talk of town. Then teachers like me will inform him: your mind is limping, and it needs re-tooling so that it can work evenly. At the top, there is no place for minds that gloss over difficult facts. You do not hide from facts at the top. That is where the buck stops. And Uhuru Kenyatta ducked the buck. The anglo-leasing buck.) Yes, there are many achievements, yes there are many plans: Railways infrastructure … pipelines and airport terminals, technical schools, youth programs like Uwezo empowering funds, bursaries, electricity upgrades and mass connections, dams built and Galana like irrigation schemes launched, fertiliser subsidies, huduma service centres, health upgrades programs like maternity and special medical conditions fund …. That is the kind of stuff you will find in any four year development plan in any republic, banana or not. The government COLLECTS TAXES and Borrows Money from markets ( which the people/citizens will pay). Spending money you have not worked for is no achievement. The bomb would be if Uhuru Kenyatta said: in spending public money and the loans, the government has effected a ZERO TOLERANCE on corruption and inefficiency and wastage, and can thus report a 95% certification of NO LOSS.NB: (I think only Scandinavia and New Zealand beats that at the corruption and wastage rankings!) So, because that is super-human given African standards, let me dumb down to: I would be wasted if Uhuru could report an 90% efficiency. Kibaki was 70% service, that is 30% disappeared to corruption. But something tells me Uhuru’s 50/50 regime is not bettering Kibaki’s GCG! It is a late twin, younger and hungrier. Greedier and hastier. Tea Break. tear gas.

In this thread --UHURU JEERED AT MIGORI launched by b6k jukwaa.proboards.com/thread/9177/uhurus-host-heckled-jeered-migori there is some unfinished businesse I want to follow up on SIASA MOTO MOTO. The Kenyan lumpen are pre-occupying national debate space these days. Let us take a quick considered look at them. Let us visit the figures of youth unemployment, expectations, conditions of life, and find out if, like Africa in general, they are rising. Rising here means marching resolutely into a bright tomorrow. Jobs and all, for school leavers. However, if we can discern a general state of squalor amongst hordes of youth, and lowered, pessimistic out looks inspite of the oil find, we would need to readjust our narrative of Africa rising and ponder the following. STRICTLY SPEAKING: SIASA MOTO MOTO: TOWARD 2017 THE PREPONDERANCE OF THE PROLETARIAT AS A CONFLICT RESOLUTION DETERMINANT. www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2000136458/youths-set-on-fire-booklets-for-signature-collectionYouths set on fire copies of Pesa Mashinani booklets for signature collection By Steve Mkawale Updated Monday, September 29th 2014 at 00:00 GMT +3 I had stated that Raila's alliance with the corded lumpen is just ONE, the one in the spotlight after Uhuru Kenyatta was ''shoed'' in Migori.
The obvious truth, is that, of demagogues of various tribes and stripes, there is no shortage in Kenya. The second homerun is, in the light of the synovate antithesis to the meteoric warp of Kenya to MiSc (Middle Income Status Country), there is certainly no shortage of lumpen goon-gangs as ready game. These two groups, as far as competitive politics of the comprador in a negative spiral goes, are a marriage made in heaven. The rule of the Tropical gangsters! Nakuru where the former state thug Mbugua is the governor, will offer us a test-tube case of the future. The great thing about Mbugua, is that he is a genuine political thug. He has no political sophistication, therefore the PR polish which usually tries to mask the thuggishness of the comprador, does not spoil the view. He is RAW. Where Mbuvi Sonko is a clown, Mbugua is raw and real. Add this to the fact that Nakuru is actually cosmopolitan –-multi-ethnic, and politically pruralistic, then it can not be long before the drive to make Nakuru politically uniform or homogenous must aggravate into ethnic cleansing as its logical conclusion. No political notable is making efforts to arrest the creeping zoning of areas. That reveals the subconscious of the ruling class. They will do their all to ram 2017 into the ethnic canon or formula. Let us take a look at Nandi county for instance, to have a glimpse at why the djini has to be forced back into the bottle. There are already seeds of potential civil war WITHIN ONE ETHNIC GROUP WITHIN ONE COUNTY. there is only one way to re-unite the tribe as one: pinpoint an external enemy, and present him or her or they as a CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER. The tribe then forgets their petty squables and mobilises as one behind THE LEADER to confront the eternal existential threat, the other. As the controversies of devolution and national competition at the top escalate toward 2017, more than a bit of violence may be needed to make ends meet, ethnically. That is make the numbers add up. Here is a moment of comical relief, but ask yourself, how come?

"Zoning" again?
Mao used to say that one step backward and two steps forward still adds up to progress. Some Kenyans seem to have misunderstood things and have swapped the "one" and the "two".
For such cases, Moi has/had just one standard response to such: "He, he, he, ... Genya!". He must be thoroughly enjoying himself right now: His legacy is very much alive, and The Project is finally in charge.

"Zoning"? I don't know about that. However there is a rising level of intolerance. The problem with intolerance when it is not immediately condemned, you may one day find yourself facing the very same intolerance at a different venue.
As far as I know, Raila never came out to personally condemn the Uhuru "shoeing" incident. For sure Anyang Nyong’o came out and sheepishly bleated a half hearted condemnation on behalf of the party, but such an incident should've been vociferously condemned by the CORD leader himself. Little wonder that yesterday he found himself on the receiving end of kichapo chya mbwa when a "mad" man gave him and the governor of Kwale a swift stroke of the cane each!
Word on social media sites has it that the old man is a member of a new terror group called KIBOKO HARAM.

Increasingly, it is becoming clear that Mzee Moi would still not prefer that Ruto succeed any other President of Kenya. This has amply been demonstrated all this past week in the onslaught on Ruto’s leadership style and political persona by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, President Moi’s youngest but favourite son. The reorganisation of Kanu and the propping up of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi as a 2017 presidential candidate is also being seen as part of the plot. According to insiders close to Moi, his father, former President Daniel Moi, has asked him not to create any obstacles in Uhuru's path for a second term quest. Instead, Gideon has been asked by the older Moi to prepare himself in such a manner that becomes Deputy President in 2017. - See more at: www.the-star.co.ke/news/cabinet-be-dissolved-uhuru-consulting-ruto-new-team#sthash.Mmjb1UU6.dpuf

UHURU's VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN THE PRIME MINISTER JOSEPH KINYUA.www.nation.co.ke/news/Waita-job-at-State-House-signals-power-shift/-/1056/2709546/-/mf4oynz/-/index.html With everything running amess, security, anti-corruption, inflation and even a simple flight to Dibai turning into a PR nightmare, the man in charge of the daily running of the country is of course not just in hot soup, but his goose is cooked in the run to the elections. But with the kind of deep roots he has in the bureaucracy, and by virtue of being the father-brains of administrator Uhuru in his infant days, Kinyua has more or less a security of tenure. But now that is all nostalgia, and he is a mere figure-head, unless he can amass his considerable silent power of ancestry in the deep state, and marshall his influence to totally neutralise or control this Waita of a usurper planted by Tony Blair. It is a power move by Uhuru Kenyatta who seems to have lost confidence in the bureaucracy, and is therefore pinning his hopes on outsiders. The mandarinate of course reads it correct, and will manufacture counter moves.

SIASA MOTO MOTO! Political realism sets in and pragmatism takes charge!
I paraphrase a well-known political cliche. The bureaucracy digs in and wears the new man down in the trenches. He is eventually reduced to seeing his re-election as the most important mission.
The rest are eat and talk and going through the motions of power, make-believe policy initiatives, fake nationalism and still-born dreams. The nation is adrift, but who cares, that is politics as usual, digital dynamic sloganeering or not! NB: The idea of a cabinet of technocrats was not Uhuruto's, it must be reminded. This was actually a modernisation clause in our new constitution! Let us blame the writers! And ourselves, desktop critis, for missing the obvious pitfall whereas we spent months debating minor issues like election dates, December or August!
Note how important DEVOLUTION is suppose to be as a national cause, then note the qualifications of Waiguru's replacement! --Nereah nyar Amadi yawa, ilala kanye! Deflect the opposition! But what do the British teach us in parliamentary democracy. The opposition? One is in front of you, clearly visible. The other is sitting right next to you, and then behind you too. Kikulacho kiko nguoni mwako!
If William Ruto has an eloquent tongue, he now meets his match, doesn't he? We aren't talking devolution here, are we!?

We are here today, strident tones, fraying tempers: Uhuru Kenyatta has been keeping a punishing schedule in terms of jet-lag, crunching airmiles, promoting .ke as FDI worthy destination .... THE POT IS COOKING! THE MOLECULES INCREASINGLY AGITATEDA few days ago, William Ruto Singh branded the opposition a gang of economic saboteurs. A few weeks earlier, a section of ODM Mpigs blew whistles in parliament during the state of the Union by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Kenyatta responded to Ndii's divorce pleas by proclaiming Kenya an eternal covenant. But the son of Jomo forgot Migingo which was Kenya at independence, is now already out of the Union! and he is okay with it! The eternity of the Kenyan covenant is therefore selective, elastic, indeterminate as to be a feel-good fiction! Meanwhile Cleopa Mailu and Alfred Mutua are hard at it, to kill off Kalonzo and zone Ukambani for Jubilee. They are smoking the famous watermelon out! Meanwhile Parliament can hardly come up with a quorum to vote laws or bills --see gender bill boycott. These all means the centre of gravity of politics is elsewhere, is extra-parliamentary. But like an electron circling a nucleus, a mathematical prediction of its location at any one moment is an exercise in inexactitude. This uncertainty principle then rules the Kenyan body politic, and it is siasa motomoto every day. The hert falls prey to instinct. Tthe major event which has catalysed the situation is Raila's return to public mobilisation for the removal of the IEBC. There is a suspicion many well-thinking Kenyans share the opinion these Hassan chicken-eaters are too compromised to be let ran what threatens to work out into a very intensely contested, emotional and ruthless election. Where to from here? More TEARGAS IN MY EYES? I was thinking of a family band named Womack and Womack in a famous song Teardrops in my Eyes. That was when I looked at the picture of Raila Odinga drowning in teargas in a Nairobi street, and further thought to myself, fwack, Africa is once again playing games with my mind out there! This episode is one of those drum-beats which may need several keen listening to interpret. That is a photo as a talking drum beat. A bit like Ambroise Boimbo caught in the glare after lifting Boudewin's sword on the streets of Kinshasha/Leopoldville. WHAT IS IT ABOUT ELECTORAL COMMISSIONS IN AFRICA? --I will check out the performance of a few to put things in perspective. Kenya is not the only crisis. What of Al-Sisi's Egypt, Mauritania and Niger last month, M7's Uganda, Kagame's Rwanda, the two Congos both sides of the river, Equatorial Guinea yesterday? or Tanzania and that Zanzibar hitch Waiguru so bespoke of? And now the Americans themselves can not deny it to themselves neither. Their own elections are a sham. Here is a clue to the massive pro-Hilary rigging, this time in the Democratic New York Primary. nypost.com/2016/04/21/board-of-elections-official-scapegoated-for-voting-mess/2017 we will be on our own! Best we start looking for our own modes of conflict resolution now. And yes, investors will hold their purses. When leaders of the opposition are teargassed in capital cities, you want to study the situation more, wait for it to unfold more. Others prudently re-route their oil pipelines. Who are the saboteurs!?

THE KENYAN AS RIOT-PRONE ORGANISM ----ENTER SHERIFF NKAISSERY! There is a countdown to elections Kenya, and it is that time where what passes for ripples on the surface are even truer indicators of the fissures underneath. Elections do magnify and intensify the so-called inherent cleavages. Even the USA looks more shambolic than ever as its ruling consensus fractures in the wake of an economic crisis now biting a hitherto untouchable class, the white labour aristocracy. Many sectors in our Kenya are developing contingency programs. There are the comical ones like Foreign Press cores revising their tribal theories in the hope of authoritatively spinning why this and that Zamunda is the latest African country to break up; there are the diplomatic missions being reduced to minimums and the periodic protocols being dusted to remind the remaining ones to respect their confinement to house arrest in the big week; there are the investors adopting a wait and see attitude and the invested converting their money to international reserve currency's for quick flight, yes, such stuff is going on in the background. But citizens themselves have their own adjustments to make too, especially as they sense their leaders are preparing to take them through another risky ride. Adjustments are stuff like saving money upfront to make sure the children and family are, in the election and results week, within ones safe territory. The ruthlessness of PEV 2008 with its ethnic bend, is embedded in popular narratives. Once bitten, twice will be the shy. But of course everything will be alright. So what is bubbling up officially? 1, May be sensational, may be the smoke which isn't without a fire underneath. As for the electoral commission, ach, O Africa! But then the keen sense of power for what it is clinches the deal. Here is an act of prudence which tells all. There is an increase in riots. The police is feeling, for lack of a better term, undermanned and overwhelmed. That is addition to the KDF uncertainties across: undermanned and outgunned by Al-Shabaab? In any case the strategists running state thinking have decided to increase the potential for repression in the face of rising tensions! Like apartheid South Africa and its legendary riot-breaking vans, that is the classic response by all conservative systems in the face of needed reform. And in Kenya, truly true reform can be summarised in one word: LAND. Tribal clashes --to use the word tribal as a denial of nationalist territorial awareness---- and land grievances (historical or not) go hand in hand. The electoral system which authors no solutions to this problem in the face of fierce competition is fooling itself. A bit like Israeli elections assuming there is no Palestinian Land problem, merely a terrorism, security problem thus. --The result is a country of 4M running a super power army far beyond their economic might. The children of Palestine and the nuclear-powered police force!Without a land reform, I see Kenya's back cracking under the weight of its security budget. Everywhere you look, there will be a land skirmish. Mai-Mahiu Bomet road (via Narok) is subject to closure anytime. We will need garrisons every 20km to clean-sweep it everytime the Maa close it, and that can be very frequent. On the Nakuru way, the Delamere area is another land bottleneck. Isiolo with the advent of the SGR has become a hot bed of clashes and greedy manipulation. And more. Remember the president himself being forced to officiate the handing of title deeds at the Coast --Pwani is and must be seen to be Kenya. Because there is an alternative, 'is' becoming 'si'. This week Jacob Kaimenyi of lands has been in the limelight for the wrong reasons. The dentist who failed at education was transferred to lands where he was expected to like Anne Waiguru, a facilitator of a heist. But land is super sensitive, passionate and dangerous. LAND: That is also what has pushed the price of the SGR up, and, in addition, pointed to security concerns which helped Uganda decide on Tanzania as a pipeline route. The Northern Frontier District, given Somali nationalism, is of course also a land problem. I believe the police in the area have already gone armoured personnel carriers (APC). Which is not to say such can not be Calvary in suppressing Kenyans rioting for whatever purpose. All in all then, the government is convinced her people are plotting riots and is leaving nothing to chance! But why are the people so riot prone? I guess because Satan ever toils ceaseless to break the paradise of Eden which is what the world always is according to the rulers! The Kenyan ruling class couldn't have picked a better man than Nkaissery to head the bone-crushing police. The Ambassador Kiplagat (Truth Justice and Reconciliation) report paints quite a rosy picture of his abilities. Rosy, for those who prefer pre-historic solutions to modern political problems. I notice the nation is nervous though! ---LAND! Is there a direct link between land and rigging elections? I wonder! FOOTNOTE: WHY I DO NOT BLAME NKAISSERY, HE HAS NO OPTIONS! he is following a trend well set! South Africa's taakmag, police gear (monocoque casspir) Obamaland is up there too, a beacon: Blacklivesmatter is a riot problem: POLICE? What in the world!? COMING SOON TO A CITY NEAR YOU!

THE REHEARSALS BEGIN:Everywhere the battlelines harden, the police and the people differ, the state comes out in armour, politics asserts its primacy over commerce; impregnated teargas and chemicalised water, simultaneously rain and waft through the streets, forming a toxic mixture of mist. Money business stops, more frustrations build up in the hearts of all. There is a conflict but humans are stubborn creatures, so the solution must go through the face of mayhem. And mayhem has many faces too, and stages too. A battle royal coming up! That is the beast, the new face of policing everywhere. The police has become militarised in countries hitherto soft touch. That is a symptom to note. Militarised police have never sealed the lid on social combustion for long. It has traditionally been merely the last phase of an acien regime. Policing then becomes the art of military occupation. This beast was a small matter in the streets of Nairobi, however with mounted battlefield machine guns, it is an armoured personnel carrier and battle tank, deployed against unarmed civilians. I guarantee there are coils and coils of bullet reels in the belly of that beast, ready to feed the mechanism behind the long, large barrels, to spew lead and enact a massive death toll. It is not a message of power -like fanya fujo uone, no, the state has always been organised monopoly violence pretending to be the gentle uncle, but there is a time appearances can not be kept up. The glove is removed to show the steely punch. This is Kenya searching for a new social contract between the people and the rulers. And very scared for the moment. Let us hope we are not bent on indulging our stubbornness to the limit. That is when the army is called back from Somalia to teach a rebelling Wanjiku the lesson of who is boss. Like Rome, it (boiling point of no return) does not all happen in a day! --we wont quit, says electoral board. www.nation.co.ke/news/Electoral-board-rejects-plea-to-quit-as-talks-gear-up/-/1056/3202748/-/117r8eoz/-/index.html -parliament halts money disburse to IEBC www.nation.co.ke/news/Parliament-halts-approval-of-IEBC-Sh45bn-budget/-/1056/3201236/-/aq2ct4z/-/index.html -signs of a compromise behind the bravado? www.nation.co.ke/news/House-team-seeks-to-break-standoff-on-IEBC/-/1056/3194548/-/vuuy88z/-/index.html NB: KANU, fronted by Salat, insists on the narrative the Kericho by-election was fraudulent in result. Other voices are joining the bleating. But Hassan overdid himself: he threatened the barring of the CORD Principals from the next election! Just imagine he was not joking! He then is positively insane.

SUCCESSION PRIORITIES AND THE EVER DANGEROUS TRANSITIONSIASA MOTOMOTO: Today the 19th of December 2016, there are two big events in Africa. Kinshasha city in the DR Congo is in a military lock down, with Joseph Kabila's own praetorian guard deployed to battle stations. The youth of that mineral den of a land had promised their president what they called a red-card day. Then, to the extreme West of the continent, two prominent leaders from the ECOWAS fly to Gambia for an audience with the emperor of Banjul, Nero Jahmeh. The aim is to have him abdicate. One notable is the outgoing president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, and his co-traveller is none other than the president of Nigeria, the mighty Muhammadu Buhari. Their mission is expected to fail lamentably if they do not carry with them the message of death. Buhari, Mahama to mediate in Gambia: From left: President Muhammadu Buhari; ECOWAS Chairman / Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Chairman ECOWAS Commission, Marcel de Souza at the 50th Ordinary Session of the EOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in Abuja on Saturday. Photo: CALLISTUS EWELIKE/NAN At the bottom of these two events is the problematic of transition. That is power changing hands, as in a succession, a dangerous rapid when incumbency is too much invested in the status quo. The powers that be and the vested interests strive to manage the change, control the process, defy its true content. In Africa, this tension can be witnessed in nearly every country, but today, December 19th, I am happy to count the exceptional USA along African countries. (In Britain, the people voted Brexit albeit with the tiniest of majorities, but the shocked establishment has concluded the people did not know what they meant, and, better informed, they would vote otherwise. And with that, political Britain has become paralysed in indecision, confusion and divergent ambition!) This is 19-12-2016 is also the day the electoral college formalises the result of the presidential election, and thus the official election of Donald J. Trump as the duly elected 45th POTUS. How was the Obama succession suppose to go? It was to be a coronation of one, HRC. Howbeit the ruling faction correctly perceived the reluctance of the people to wholly endorse this scenario, so the primaries were rigged against the challenger Bernie Sanders. Deny it they might, but we saw the bile spill openly during the convention when scores of Sanders delegates stormed out and a police cordon had to ring the place to let things proceed. Meanwhile The Queen in waiting Hilary grinned. Trump was her favourite opponent and she had even poured money into his campaign. Trump was a buffoon even a basket of deplorables wouldn't dare elect. They could sure flirt with his vulgarity, but bed him as Prezzo!? Nah, but still in a sign of uneasiness, fate had to be helped along, and so the bag of tricks flew full open. Trump was exposed to his bare misogynist chore. But not everybody in the establishment liked the idea of Mrs. Rotten claiming cleaner breath to Mr. Rotten. So they (insider) leaked, blaming it on the Russian Putin of course. On one side, Obama's succession plan worked. Hilary beat Trump on the popular tally by, wait for it, nearly 3 million votes. But where it mattered most, in the swing states with their bag of electoral college votes, the succession plan fell apart. The outsider walloped in, complete with his band of renegades, no doubt from which his cabinet of deplorables will be formed. WHAT IS THE GAME IN NAIROBI?The retention of power by Jubilee. This is the same game as in Harare where the half-dead Mugabe has been projected candidate once more, just like Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria whose people referred to as coffin president; this is the same game in Kabila's Kinshasha where, like Pierre Nkurunzinza of Burundi, part of his term does not count therefore his term goes on; and this is M7 or Kagame changing the constitution, projecting themselves everlast and unmissable. And after those perspectives we come home, to Nairobi. A few days after December 19 2016. Now it becomes easy to see why police tankers --donated by China, surrounded our Mpig sty aka Parliament on December 20th. At the same time the ruling party Jubilee was up to no good with the constitution respective electoral laws. They went for a special sitting without consultation with the opposition as is required by law. But I doubt that is the point. Kenyan Mpigs are not known to be motivated by points of principle. These fracas are more likely to be about bribery monies, called sitting allowances, going unpaid. I perused the auditor general's assessment of CDF''s controlled by Mpigs past and present. The opposition even in the counties they rule is no bastion of correct legal procedures. More perspectives www.nation.co.ke/news/Audit-Report-Counties-Corruption-Funds/1056-2798198-ks2t95z/index.html www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2000224426/audit-report-shows-misuse-of-billions-in-counties www.the-star.co.ke/news/2016/10/12/most-of-sh300bn-given-to-counties-used-for-personal-projects-auditor_c1437141 These electoral laws they deem more important than the scourge of corruption? Aha aha!? All these shenanigans are only because a nervous chill crawls up the spine of the Uhuruto complex. It really must be NASA. Whatever, the result has been a messy day. That one between Millie Odhiambo and Muigai wa Jomo is a side issue. Parliament in session under a police cordon does not augur well for the short-term future of a young democracy. The august house wallows in the realm of political farce. Beasts only of loyalty to their feeding instincts are in charge. This reaction is the crux January 4, a rendezvous with the water-spitting canons from China.

POWER: AN OPEN GAME OF CHESS How much do we really know about how our country works? I think we know a lot. Despite the veils of secrecy the ruling class enshroud their cloak and dagger plots with, The People can read the events and put the dots on the 'i'-s with ease. Where they fail on the first attempt, the institutes of human experience built by culture, historical memory and the offices of the indefatigable resource called imagination, will avail all the possible options of interpretations. Consider: The Elephant Mother Mama Ngina goes to meet Old Arap Moi, The former King and dubbed professor of politics. Any doubts about the need for the romance? A tea conference no doubt, since the Old Lady is not known for a propensity toward Nyamachoma indulgence, nor is the old dictator, her host for the occasion, notorious for smoke and whiskey punctuated deals of fornication, nay, this was straightforward business. Certainly they discussed grandchildren, like Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton at Phoenix airport, as the powers struggled with a decision to prosecute or not Candidate Hilary. But Kenyans recognise The Muthamaki Mother is peddling her charms for her son, is beseeching Ol'Moi to persuade young Moi to cooperate with the continued incumbency of her Kamwana. The speculation is what she is offering, and what foxy Moi is demanding or ready to settle for. This was an explorative meeting between two financial Oligarchies and political dynasties, if minds could meet to fix the future of Kenya as their shamba, Kingdom and dominion, forever. (there is a reason it is incorrect to say 'for the foreseeable future!) Of course that is the weekend in which Princess Rosemary, Prime daughter of the Sea, staked her claim on the family fiefdom of Kibera (Kibra). Former family pet Eliud Owallo should be compensated somewhow, he is howling embarassingly all over the place, like he got some rib kick or something! Rogue dog! Then there is Sir Peter Kenneth. For many, Nairobi governor is the dream job. Nothing further to look forward to. For an ambition like Kenneth, a former presidential candidate, Nairobi is but a stepping stone. He needs some airlift or thrust to move on, and while Evans Kidero is regal and settled and self-satisfied in complacency like a dying King Mzilikazi, Sir Peter is like a young restless Tshaka, rising, out to sweep aside the lowly creeps in the Jubilee line-up, contemptuously toss aside Kidero, and be on route to his destiny, or, naturally, a rendezvous with the pitfalls of hubris. Needless to say, Peter's barely concealed arrogance has elicited bitter feelings in the ranks of Jubilee minions, and driven fear in the heart of the opposition, and, howbeit, sent William Ruto into high contemplative moods. An ambitious devil like Peter need not be parked being a two-term governor. No point a racer overstaying at a gas station. Which Kenyan does not know!? In the ease with which Eugene Wamalwa's candidature for the governorship of Nairobi has folded, one gets a hint of the ruthlessness and no-nonsense intrigues that bedevil this Tribune's seat in Rome. It is a gladiatorial arena where the likes of Eugene Wamalwa are less than litter. There have been Sonko-orchestrated rumours Kenneth allies offered him ksh. 1bn. It is possible. Historical memory will tell us how it is Baba Yao Waititu was facilitated to Dagoretti. Solution templates; Sonko can just be inflating his price at the negotiation table. He could, in addition to the cash, still settle for Peter's running mate. A powerful ticket by any measures. Then the new police gear! In a tense electoral year. Could be coincidence of course.Byt then that innocent coincidence theory has to square off against intelligence! May be there are other unstated reasons why violence could erupt in the opposition strongholds at a later date, wherefore rehearsals of deployment are welcome? So they confess to have rigged the election!? I am happy it is not a criminal offence! Otherwise imagine the consequences! So a Solomonic silence will do. NB: I remember an inspired ruling by Judge Onguto in a recent land case. Very delicate of Onguto! Yes, --considering the immediate consequences of the Oloo-Sakaja confession--- we can only grin at the traitorous duo in their illness, unable to live with their guilt-ridden consciences, confessing in broad daylight. Water under the bridge then. But should there be a rigging this year, I am not sure the riggers will live to confess so innocently about thwarting the peoples will. This crime, taken seriously, Jammeh is lucky to have a dignified exit. Life can have worse in store.

NASA FALL OUT, NASA FALL IN: WHY THE DILLY DALLY?For months on end, the principals have held the nation titilated by their farcical side shows. To date, it is still unknown the ticket which will square off against the Uhuruto tandem. Why are these experienced politicians this fuzzy?? It is because they are petty and in their personal blindness, unable to identify the priorities of the people. They are thus not guided by the need to articulate these and, better, think out and opt for realistic alternatives. Their economic agenda is no different from Jubilee, so where do they go if not Confusionland? If their agenda is or were, then would it be a tough time explaining why in the regions dominated by the cohorts and parties of the NASA principals, the difference between CORDED and JUBILEED counties, is the same. This reduces their problem to a personalities issue. An infantile clash of ambitions. The effective mechanism for solving a problem is about as sacrosanct as anything can be. There are many ways to Rome they say, many ways to solve the same problem, but when it comes to power, I don't believe the ways are that diverse, nor do I believe many politicians are that ingenuous and creative. Power remains a passion for lower apes like man, and once common sense no longer is a mediator, the Pandora's box of negativisms flings open. Out flies the whole arsenal --- chicanery, treachery, skulduggery, and forked tongues spinning poison. Yes, all those things which have made the corridors of power that blood soaked and the history of MOU's in Kenya a Judas street. Indeed we are standing by for a battle royal within Jubilee as soon as Uhuru Kenyatta enters the lame duck stretch. The common sense option, Peter Kenneth as William Ruto's running mate, is not that obvious. There are passions in the race, blocking vision. In the context of confused ideological formations, or, in our case, political organisations wholly subscribed to ethno-fascism ---they are top down, controlled by supreme leaders, tend toward bio-exclusivity, choosing one out of a desperate crew who made a career out of chameleon tendencies is a riddle to behold. And in the context of Kenya as a ''COMMON TRAGEDY'' where they will act in individual interest to the detriment of the common purpose, what we watch is also the institutional impossibility of authoring and implementing a fool-proofed, purposed mechanism to resolve not only the national flagbearer, but also local posts. I.e the primaries or NOMINATION exercise is ramshackle. Modern concepts are mouthed, but capacity to effect always wanting. nb: EQUIVOCATING 'INFANTILE' (Remember the fabulous Anne Waiguru baby, the IFMIS system, which was to be the magic wand against corruption? Modern and all it was, but in practice, it has proved worse than analogue systems in its susceptibility to grafty manipulation! #that is why the word INFANTILE is used to characterise such an elite. Modern concept, illiterate result. Further example is Nigeria: book-keeping is studied to CPA and chartered accounting levels, e.g Okonjo Ngozi Iweala and rest of the Harvadian Bokos holding pens, but a look at Nigeria's state finances then reveals pre-upright ape scripts! So BOOM, Boko Haram, some call the bluff!) Back to NASA ETHNO CONCESSIONS, THE LUOS IN A QUANDARY My instincts tell me it is the Luos to bite the bullet. Make a harsh sacrifice as the QUID for QUO. This regardless of the fact that of the lot, Raila is the most formidable candidate. The people of the lake are fronting Evans Kidero for the Nairobi county gubernatorial repeat, and that means canvassing the whole NASA fraternity to ''block-vote'' for him. Nairobi is prestigious enough. Then again for the IKULU seat, they want the same for one of their own, Tinga! It strikes the others as a GREED, no less than GEMA's famous monopoly of slots. The GEMA fraternity, nearly twice the Luo vote, buoyed too by the experience of being state insiders (two Kenyatta's and one Kibaki), comes to the national table with a different mentality. The more or less continual enjoyment of state power has invested within them, (actually we are talking ETHNO ELITES), the illusions which foster supremacist thinking. The GEMA elites therefore offer a range of reactionary attitudes necessary to monopolise power, including avowed xenophobia. This means they can shamelessness and arrogantly indulge the fantasies of bureaucratic incest from A-to-Z: The Presidency, GEMA, the VP/PM GEMA, CGS Gema, all parastatal CEO', GEMA, CBK, GEMA. Give and take a few variations! But we 'Luopeans' are different! Not only are we too numerically inferior, and the homeland too far from Nairobi, but our innate level of sophistication forbids such political depravity. Inclusiveness and rational compromise is the pain in the a-ss. Now hold your breath before you laugh some more! I will presently be on it!

I know we have been studying and marvelling at the disturbing revelations by the Auditor General on the malfeasance bedevilling Luo-led county governments. [Forget fancy Bungoma and its Josephine Kabura model Lilian Wafula for the moment] We have seen how all construction companies in Homa Bay are owned or controlled by one person, the wife of the public tenderer and payer, talk about bureaucratic incest; we have seen the perfection in waste and shoddy jobs, think of the multi million market in Bondo now functioning as bushland sh!itbelt; we have seen how palm-greasing and clientele nepotism are the order of tendepreneural day; we have gotten to know Madame-R is an ace German garbage collector and recycling company, but with a post-office box at Ahero without an office there; we have witnessed a fresh Jack Ranguma of Kisumu rent to spend ksh.1M/month public money at a 'kick-back' Kisumu hotel, while the referral hospital, Russia or Jaramogi Odinga Mausoleum, decayed away in drought, unable to pay water bills. And then there is the latest Government Disburse Portal as edited by Menoah Esipisu. Okay, Menoah is usually a scumbug full of cheap spin --see him blaming the opposition for provoking the constant presidential losses of temper over Mombasa port and Turkana oil, but on the Lake Basin Authority squandering several tens of millions on a MALL while leaving the hyacinth intact, he does cut deep, our spinning Menoah disk. Knowing all the above, and more, so you might opt to wax delirious in laugh-fits at the patented sophisticates or ''Luopeans' -so-called! What a people full of vain-glorious bull, what a delusional crew of uncut and uncouth retards, soiling their own nests, defeating themselves while yelling historical victimisation! What a sordid pact of vermin! What a people of zero work and full-day egomania! If you laugh more, it is because you went to school after they already removed Ngugi and Cabral from the syllabus, and replaced them with Daniel Arap Moi praise songs! The depravity I so diligently and laboriously catalogue ---the rule of the Vermin Mutants, is but an aspect of our modern, anti-Luopean political journey. It is a shadowy story, dark in depths and murky in thrust. It is actually the peak of the radical dissertation or tangential 'ideological'' offshoot authored by Raila Odinga. It was at its inception dubbed OPERATION COOPERATION. And I already commented on it elsewhere in the ideological faul-tlines thread. In short, Raila would expend his family political capital to mobilise Luo nationalism to help buttress the imploding Moi in exchange for inheriting the rotting Kingdom. A katikati move, a short-cut to the top. This was a rejection of the permanent ALUTA CONTINUA implied in the NOT YET UHURU treatise of his dad, KPU Jaramogi. Shifting base to a brooding, budding Luo comprador capitalist class seeking to expand its accumulation by a deal with the state which remains the major conduit of monetary advancement and business patronage, Raila entered the normal fray. And of course he carried the Luos along. The dire consequences of marginalisation in permanent opposition, consequential exile in Siberia far from power, had changed minds. The problem would be, below the elite, below the political entrepreneurs accumulating with turbo charge ---like Kidero, things more or less stayed the same. The economic fortunes have not equally matched up to the price of giving up the struggle for some real matunda ya Uhuru. That is the political problematic now. The political seat is the entrepreneurial seat. A crowd rush, a stampede. The mutants, the vermin you now confuse for Luos, are the rich and colourful flowers of that Agwambo dribble move. Thinking of the lines of a famous CU song: Let them bloom but for this day, soon they will wilt and decay unto historical dust! For Vision 2030 is a heavy cross to bear, and their knees buckle. And they are no Jesus. Laugh, with restraint. continued.
