This is hilarious!
Miguna should give us a break. Awachane na sisi.
Thank you Adongo, we shall comment on this tomorrow. But you can see your friend is becoming exceedingly excited and none other than 'Moses Kuria' confirms it.
Miguna is a regret as it were and in my opinion a total waste of bandwidth at Jukwaa.
What nonsense. Ati father in law. So what?
Thank you RR, as always, well said!

Has it occured to anyone that it is possible that the threat on MM's life could be a G7 ploy to finish the PM?If anything happens to MM regardless of who is responsible public opinion will certainly point toward RAO and this being an electioneering season that would be a goldmine for his opponents who have openly banged tables and said "we will use all means neccesary to stop him" ,while killing RAO himself will be costly for business and realestate owners eliminating MM on RAO's account sounds very favorable for politics of the day.I think Raila should provide MM with adequate off the record security for his own good.

Makau Mutua was right in his DN column about Miguna not being very smart. I mean, the man is literally giving his real enemies an ammo with which to destroy him.
FACT: Miguna has created a long list of enemies through his puerille and misadvised adventures: from boarding a plane to go and gloat about Uhuru, Ruto, Muthaura, Ali et al's misfortunes at the Hague, to penning lots of antagonistic articles against Moi, Kibaki, Mary Wambui, Kabogo, and other narco-lords in Kenya especially after Mercy Keino died. All these guys have a very good reason to eliminate Miguna.
FACT: Most of Miguna's enemies, particularly the ones who see that Raila is their only roadblock to State House, would find it politically expedient to eliminate Miguna and have it blamed on Raila. Should this occur, everybody will point a finger at Raila for Miguna himself had already intimated at this through his article. That Miguna does not see this basic math makes me realize now that Miguna is really average. He simply handed them the noose to use in his hanging.
FACT: In Miguna's own constituency, he earned a paltry 400 out of over 20,000 votes in 2008. I mean, only his nuclear and part of his extended family members voted for him. So how would he be a threat to Raila in his own village, let alone the greater Nyanza or Kenya? Only in his mind is his image of self importance this overblown.
FACT: Miguna is more of an asset to Raila fighting him than being in his corner. Miguna made Raila lose votes in the RV through a misadvised Mau strategy and not so bright columns. Miguna's recruitment as the PM's advisor, cost Raila some women votes, especially women who thought that Miguna escaped justice in Canada after RAPING two vulnerable immigrants. Given the long list of votes that he has cost Raila, every article that Miguna now pens against Raila makes some of those voters who ran away, because of Miguna's perceived closeness with the PM, give Raila a second and more favorable look. Raila knows this. After all, only Raila - with the exception of Moi before him is the person who consistently accurately reads the political mood of the Kenyan voter. Any astute politician knows that you dont go about eliminating your greatest asset.
FACT: It is unafrican to relay messages to a person through their parents in law. If someone was really after Miguna and wanted to relay a message to him, the African way to do it would be to approach Miguna directly, or give the message to his parents, brother etc. Miguna must have been in Canada for far too long to forget this basic African way of dealing with things.

That is Miguna Miguna's way of digging for delusional gold! Poor fellow cannot stand on his own feet despite the education somebody invested in him. The PM should sue MM for defamation, but I know the PM will not even bother with the spoilt brat. Here is what the MM brouhaha is all about. Politicians unleash bag of tricksBy Oscar Obonyo With just slightly over one month to the election year, muck-racking characteristic of electioneering is increasingly taking centre-stage. In recent days, Prime Minister Raila Odinga has often times been forced to fend off political attacks that his camp alleges is a smear campaign. And his opponents, too, have had to contend with similar political attacks – though no one wants to take responsibility – as presidential aspirants manoeuvre for pole position ahead of the defining 2012 General Election. In a sensational development on Saturday, it was the Prime Minister’s former advisor on coalition affairs, lawyer Miguna Miguna, who called a press conference to allege threats to his life over articles perceived to be negative to the PM.
He accused some politicians he did not name of being behind the alleged plot against him, following his falling out with the Premier. In early August, the office of the Prime Minister announced that it was suspending Miguna from his position, without pay pending, investigations into his conduct over complaints (see story page 11). In recent days, Raila’s allies claim opponents were on an over-drive to bring down the Lang’ata MP, whom opinion polls suggest is favourite to win the Presidency in the next elections. Raila has this month been put on the defensive in Parliament during heated sessions on alleged corruption over Kazi Kwa Vijana project, and the re-appointment of Foreign Affairs Minister Moses Wetang’ula. Opinion pollsThe ODM leader on two occasions protested at what he described as selective attacks against his office to settle political scores. During debate in Parliament on November 9, when he explained the reappointment of Wetangula, the PM had to fight off claims that his relatives were beneficiaries of ambassadorial appointments. Ikolomani MP Bonny Khalwale questioned the appointment of some envoys, suggesting that Raila had influenced them, to the PM’s consternation. Khalwale said: "I do not know, but was it because he was returning a favour in respect of the appointments of (he listed the names)?" But Raila termed Khalwale’s remarks unfortunate and that he had to set the record straight because the issue had been a subject of propaganda against him. "I do not want to dismiss these remarks because I know that they have been subject of insinuations and rumours," he told the House. Furious at Khalwale’s suggestion that the persons who landed the appointments and whom he had listed were his cousins, Raila responded: "Not every Luo is a relative of the Prime Minister." He added: "The people he has talked about have no blood relationship with the Prime Minister. The member needs to know that the Luo are Kenyans and they have a right to be appointed like any other Kenyan." The PM explained that the country had 60 ambassadors and high commissioners abroad and about 80 consulars, totaling 140, and it was unfortunate to pick on any. Another battlefrontThe justification that Wetang’ula was given back his job because investigations had cleared him prompted the New Ford-Kenya MP to open another battlefront. Khalwale claimed "double standards", asking why the decision had not applied in the case of Eldoret North MP, William Ruto, after High Court acquittal. He posed: "Why is Hon William Ruto not in the Cabinet, if it is not a question of applying double standards?" Raila responded that Ruto had asked to be relieved of his Cabinet position to "concentrate on building a new party that is not a member of the Coalition Government". That explanation angered Ruto, who told a public rally thereafter to be wary of leaders who were not honest even about things that were common knowledge. Ruto, who is also ODM deputy party leader but has fallen out with his party boss, had been suspended as Higher Education minister over a corruption case. However, although the court cleared Ruto, his post was given to Eldoret East MP, Margaret Kamar, who was elevated from Environment Assistant Minister during a Cabinet reshuffle. Interestingly, the Industrialisation docket, which has remained vacant since Tinderet MP Henry Kosgey stepped aside over an ongoing abuse of office charge, was not filled. Raila has adopted a softer stand on Kosgey, who is ODM chairman, unlike the hard line position against Ruto, who has publicly denounced ODM for United Democratic Movement. ODM insiders said the party had given up on any reconciliation with Ruto, who heads a rebellious wing of ODM that includes some Rift Valley MPs. However, the party brass has extended overtures to Kosgey, including selling the idea that they were comfortable with him defending his party position if he returned to the fold. A week earlier, MPs had put Raila on the defensive over the alleged theft of Kazi Kwa Vijana funds. Heated sessionThe PM, however, weathered the storm during a heated session at which he, again, protested that some members were maliciously attempting to smear his office to settle political scores. Khalwale stirred the pool when he read out a list of senior staff in the PM’s office who he said were involved in supervision of the programme. Among them, Khalwale said, was Caroli Omondi, the Chief of Staff at the Office of the Prime Minister, Deputy Chief Economist John Musale, Permanent Secretary Mohammed Isahakia, and Rachel Gesami, the Vision 2030 co-ordination director. Raila said Khalwale had been selective and economical with facts "because the list he was quoting from had 47 names". "He purposely just picked a few names from the Office of the Prime Minister," said Raila, explaining that the officials had done no wrong. After riding out the storm in Parliament, the PM had to contend with other developments in Kisumu, which gave opponents fresh cannon fodder to attack him on perceived intolerance to competition. This followed the stoning of presidential aspirant Raphael Tuju in Kondele during a campaign stop. Tuju himself charged that the buck stopped with the ODM party leader, in a stinging rebuttal to claims by the Orange party that he had staged the attack. Cooking scandals"The ODM party thrives on communist-style/Hitler-like propaganda where peddling falsehoods, half-truths and outright lies were common," said Tuju. ODM Secretary General Anyang’ Nyong’o had blamed Tuju for the incident at a press conference following a party Parliamentary Group meeting. Over time, the PM has fought off a barrage of accusations targeting him by "mimi ni mweupe kama pamba (I am as clean as cotton)". His allies, on the other hand, have derided opponents for their persistent attacks on the PM. But Ruto denies that Raila was their target: "Kuna watu wengine wanafikiri eti kila mara viongozi wakikutana kuongea mambo yao, eti wanazungumza juu yao (There are some who imagine that each time political leaders meet to consult, they are discussing them). However, Sports Minister Paul Otuoma maintains that Raila’s detractors were busy "cooking scandals" to discredit him. "This is the work of malicious politicians who are now abusing the very freedoms that the likes of the PM fought so hard and sacrificed a lot to achieve." Joint Government Chief Whip, Jakoyo Midiwo, said there is nothing wrong with fighting corruption. The only problem, he observed, was when the exercise is politicised or personalised. www.standardmedia.co.ke/InsidePage.php?id=2000046977&cid=4&ttl=Politicians%20unleash%20bag%20of%20tricks

(Miguna)2 has become a media misfit. There are other important happenings that he can write about rather than focusing on RAO. I wonder why anyone would want (Miguna)2 dead. Hako na nini ya Raila yenye Raila anamdai? Are there any more secrets that he can reveal that he has not uttered so far? I doubt. Whats that killer revelation that he his hiding? Seriously, I do not see three ODM officials driving all the way from Kisumu to deliver such a message to his father-in- law knowing too well that (Miguna)2 will be writing about it.
If I were Miguna and indeed my life was in danger, I will not cling on my constitution and proclaim my rights ( or wrongs) and freedoms of expressions as someone presses a barrel on my head. I will run as fast as possible. I will not try fight him by holding press conferences. I will not loudly beg for government protection. Instead I will hire my own. Whoever who wants to Kill me may send goons in the name of government protection instead. Further, I will choose my life over a mere freedom of expression.
If (Miguna)2 wants us to believe him, he should perhaps run and hide in the Canadian Embassy and perhaps take a flight into exile like Githongo did. He can then continue writing about Rao from overseas under 'protection' as he figures how to return back. In this era of computers (Ruto knows this), you do not need to be in Kenya to write about Kenya. Then perhaps people will maybe believe him.

What is this nonsense about reinstating security? Has Miguna Miguna forgotten that he is 1) a common mwanachi and 2) no longer works for the government and therefore no longer entitled to the security detail he had? It also seems like Miguna's life was intertwined with Raila's that is why he cannot let the man breath.
He writes an article on 11/10/11 then another one a week later on 11/15/11, that the Star refused to publish, and now here we are on 11/20/11 not quite 11/29/11 (IS this suppossed to be a future threat) as noted above. What do all these articles have in common...... Raila Amollo Odinga. Its almost like an obsession of some sort. All this while Kenyans are going through some of the worst times, being rendered homeless by recent demolitions....... more than enough material to write something about.........what kind of fighter is this guy?
How dumb would it be that someone identifies himself as an ODM official before issuing threats and then further explains that his life is in danger if he continues writing about the PM........, sounds like someone is playing politics and Miguna fits the perfect build of a jilted former employee. I have read this script somewhere before. And why go through the inlaw's when they can reach him?
Miguna promised to Tango with Raila ever since he got fired and We also promised to Tango right along sir, since we can see through your many shenanigans. Please get a life and move on from this petty wars. You are not doing anyone a favor with your rants
If Miguna's life is in danger as he purports, file a police report and get your own security just like anyone else would, stop it with the self importance and in the meantime stay put until the dust clears.

Surprising how tables have turned! There are folks here who would never see anything wrong with Miguna Miguna's annoying rants before August this year, but since August they can't stand anything the man writes or utters. Miguna has not really changed. What changed?
It now seems the only way Miguna can win sympathy is by dying in some mysterious accident. It might help to point out that the guy has not even claimed that it's Raila threatening to kill him - or did I miss something?
I think Miguna Miguna's allegation is serious. Very serious! If true, it tells us that there are those who still harbour and are ready to exercise the same social-political sensibilities that gave birth to the post election violence of 2007/8. For this reason I think it is redundant to say that thorough investigation of the claims should be done. I would expect such an investigation to be already under way.

These Luos who think that anyone opposed to Raila is opposed to the Luo community are taking us back to the dark days. As jakaswanga puts it, Raila is a politician who is beyond his saleby date, and I dont see any reason why someone should be threatening others with death for him. This is not the first time Miguna is writing about a politician. All the while we've not seen them send some wazee who cannot even speak sawhili to his father in-law to warn him in mother tongue of dire consequences. This is the kind of intolerance we need to weed from the society. For Raila, he needs to come out clean on this. We know that Miguna could have very classified information on the malpractices at the OPM, thus the need to silence him. It is a pitty for a man who claims to have fought for various freedoms in the country to be mentioned as the one threatening innocent Kenyans with death and gagging the media. It was Tuju last week, and now, Miguna Miguna. Who is next? Maybe Mwalimumkuu? Who knows. This is a good example of a slippery slope argument for anyone who doesn't know. Violation of Rule No. 4 on the 8 Basic Rules on Debate

I have a small question for the Doubting Thomases: How about if what Miguna is saying is actually true? What do you expect him to do:
Wait meekly to be throttled with a pillow in his own bed as he snores away soundly?
There must be a distinction between heated polemics even if these are on partisan or even personalized grounds are some of us are wont to engage on this forum and direct threats on people's safety. When I spoke to Miguna a short while ago, he was in the throes of contacting the CID and other police agencies. Onyango Oloo Nairobi, Kenya
Nd. Oloo, These are my views on this: Miguna Miguna has made a very serious allegation about threats to his life and has reported this to the police, which should conduct and quickly conclude its investigation of this matter, given Miguna says identifiable people actually went to his relatives to make the threats. I take him for his word that these threats were made. The best thing for all of us to do, is to pray for him and hope he is not harmed which would be idiotic to even think that would be something Raila or anyone in ODM would condone, let alone direct as Miguna insinuates. Why? What for? Eti because of his articles? Please. For every critical or harsh article Miguna has written or can write, there are a thousand worse by others, including right here in these fora and none of those Raila bashers have been the the object of physical threats or harm from anyone. Why would Miguna be different? Again, let the police do their work and if what Miguna says is true, then the police should have the culprits in custody by now or in days as it’s Migori we are talking about not New York or Hong Kong or even Nairobi for that matter. This is the time to let the police do its work and not the time to unnecessarily invoke past instances of political assassinations or attempts that have ZERO parallels to this allegation. Finally, Miguna’s contention that “My life is more sacred and more important than someone’s delusional belief that he has a God-given right to the presidency of the Republic of Kenya†and demand for reinstatement of his security detail totally undermines his claim regardless of the outcome of the investigation. Kenyans from all walks of life are threatened with their lives and/or are actually attacked and even killed for reasons that have nothing to do with politics but their lives are no less sacred than Miguna’s to warrant protection from our government. This kind of assertions introduce politics to an otherwise serious allegation making it easily dismissible as another political stunt even when it may not be.

I am simply amazed at some of the reactions to Miguna's press release.
Some comments are simply ridiculous-like the ones which try to make political hay of a TYPO where Miguna said "Saturday,November 29th" instead of the 19th.
I posted the press release on the same day, Saturday, November 19th that Miguna held his press conference and the statement was covered by the Kenyan media.
Yet for some of us, this typographical error is "proof" of Miguna's chicanery.
So much abuse and ad hominem attacks then flow like the River Nyando during the rainy season.
What has Miguna's performance during the ODM by elections in 2007 got to do with his press release?
Jukwaa is about sticking to ISSUES, not personalities.
Let us go back to what Miguna said.
He said he got an early morning phone call from his father in law.
Is this true or false?
He relayed what his father in law told him.
Did he make this up?
Did his father in law lie to him?
Miguna talked about people conveying similar messages through his elder brother.
Is this a fact or is Miguna peddling falsehoods?
How about the correspondence from the Star?
Is that also hogwash?
Did Miguna say anywhere in his statement that it was Raila who went to his father in law or his brother?
Let me tell you a little story to illustrate something.
About a year and a half ago, a civil society pal of mine invited me for an evening chat over a couple of beers to a pub called Sango in the Ayany neighbourhood in Kibera.
When I arrived, I found my friend already there. Seated next him was a middle aged man.
My friend then formally introduced us:
"Hey So and So (he used a nickname for his friend made popular because he used to be one of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga's bodyguards during the heydays of the original FORD) this is Onyango Oloo."
At the mere mention of my name the man started glowering at me in silent rage.
Realizing the cause of the man's discomfiture, my friend chuckled, cleared his throat and said:
"No, he is NOT that Onyango Oloo! This one was in prison with Agwambo at Kamiti. He is one of us."
The man visibly relaxed. He even managed a broad smile before admitting sheepishly:
"I was planning to pour this beer in your face before punching you in the mouth. That Onyango Oloo makes me so mad!"
My point is that this man who was then a total stranger to me was prepared to unleash violence on me on the mere assumption I was the person seen to be attacking and undermining Raila Odinga.
The Prime Minister knew nothing of this chance encounter and would have been shocked to find that someone who considered themselves a devout follower of ODM physically attacked a perceived "enemy" of Raila.
There was no memo from Orange House ordering this man to attack Onyango Oloo (me or my namesake) in a bar of Kibera.
Please do not rule out the possibility that these people who visited Miguna's father in law and brother could have been overeager zealots acting on their own volition taking it upon themselves the "duty" of issuing threats to Miguna.
That is one possibility.
But whatever the source of their motivation, the law does not sanction such behaviour.
No matter how much people may detest Miguna for his opinions about the politics of this country I do not see the need for this mindless lynch mob mentality I witness with horror right here in Jukwaa.
Do some people think that Miguna should be threatened, attacked and even killed because he has expressed some critical opinions about his former boss?
If so, say so.
Onyango Oloo Nairobi

On Jukwaa is where we first used the triumvirate analogy to analyse the unsteady cannibal alliance ruling Kenya. And because I saw MM use the kitendawili too, I was always of the opinion that he would spare some time to revise his reading of the politics of Triumviracy, especially the position of intellectuals in it.
A rotten arrangement would need a hoard of rotten bareaucrats to oil and fluent its rotten deals. And a battery of rotten intellectuals for hire to style it up. These would be used ruthlessly in their naivette and adolescence, though paid handsomely from the proceeds of an expropriated populace, but once expired, they would be dashed back to the realms of anonimous folk, and left dazed. And the public, cynical and understanding the rot of their times, always enjoys the theater of the fallen high, even adding a boot to the buttocks of erstwhile heros.
Let us say like is evident in this thread! [Never has Jukwaa been such a frenzied mob!] A wolf-pack tearing prey with christmas glee!
And so it was with a man called Marcus Cato Junior. Principled, educated and aristocratic, he fought the good fight for many years and castigated corruption in the other factions of the Triumvirate in lyrical prose and public well speak. But when the state ran out of money and wanted to expropriate his own privilleges, he totally fell out with the reformists and joined the most reactionary wing of the opposition. But these were ruthless days, and they did not read you your miranda rights when you rebelled against Rome.
The struggle needs matyrs, and nationalism prospers by the ultimate sacrifices of her sons and daughters, even if in the supreme moment of death they are unnerved and yell from the cross like Jesus to his father: Why do you desert me now dad?
If MM's murder would be the rock upon which the monolithic head of current Luo nationalism splits into irreconcilliable wings, then it will enter into Luo mythology at par with the split over a bead which led to the disembowelling of a kid, and the back to back goodbye forever. And one thousand years from now, it would be noted as a key event in the development of the nation. Now, that is okay with me as a student of Luo nationalism!
NB: My longterms go in millenia, not the quaterly returns in bookkeeping in business economics!
MM has refused to grow up from Raila this and that and open his eyes to what is going on in the whole wide country and world! then his options really get very narrow. ----------- Oloo, There could be more, but there are three cases I know of people who were intimidated into closing down their bars in Kisumu, because spies had reported that the politics there were anti-Agwambo, and both their domiciles and business premises were marked for arson. You can be sure people like me tried to reach people like Miguna who were then bigwigs. I tried to reach Nyong'o too through a mutual acquaintance in academia, so that that the party dissociate herself from this kind of thing. We have seen how political thuggery works in Mexico, Colombia, the philipines: Today they are for you, tomorrow they are for hire, against you! Ach, the men in power did not listen!
I have warned the indian MP to strongly condemn thuggery in the most vehement terms. He hasn't yet. I told him down in Kondele is a feeling of latent animosity against Asians who domineer in Kisumu. One day a Luo politician will make political capital of this feeling, formenting it further and, He-He-He, he Shakeel will be roasted alive by the same people who wanted to roast Tuju!Political thuggery, has only temporary masters! let none condone it. Comes back at you with impunity! Nyanza offers a forensic case in the study of both covert and overt persuation methods! Wait until they start to spit at MM's wife in the streets!

Your life can be in danger if you are of threatening value for others by things you know or if you can be of use in a set-up to incriminate someone.
I don’t think Miguna Miguna is of any threatening value for anyone. He has no beans left to be spilled. However he seems to be possessed by an irrational (paranoid) drive that makes him an excellent candidate to be used in a set-up.
People who come threatening to kill you normally do not identify themselves unless there is a good reason to bring this to the attention for a set-up.

People who come threatening to kill you normally do not identify themselves unless there is a good reason to bring this to the attention for a set-up. Merlin, Your conclusion is based on an erroneous assumption that all involved are rational decision makers. They are not! In OO's story, why was someone ready to humiliate and cause bodily harm to OO? Was it not just because that person presumed OO to be the one saying things against Raila Odinga? There could be people out there, and Miguna Miguna appears to press that indeed there are, to whom bad-mouthing of Raila Odinga could be reason to die. Besides, Miguna Miguna's bad-mouthing of Raila Odinga is unique, and I believe a particular irritation to those among whom faith in Raila inspires hatred for the faithless. Miguna Miguna has been very close to Raila, and any criticism he makes of the man comes with much more authority than any. In short, you might think Miguna Miguna is not a threat to Raila, but there may be those who believe otherwise, and who may be ready to make personal sacrifices to contain the threat they perceive.

A few weeks ago here in Jukwaa if my memory is still to date, it was stated that Miguna had given an interview at K24 with damning information about the inner workings of ODM and RAO in general. He is said to have told Jeff to only air that interview after he goes on to exile.
The interview was aired, nothing really came out apart from his usual critic and Miguna did not go anywhere or even if he did, he jetted back after getting no response from the PM.
Was he hoping that what he uttered in that interview was overly damning such that the country will pose and ogle at the PM's office with question marks?
Up to date, I am still waiting for that killer revelation. If anyone interacts with him face to face, please tell him to do this. I cant wait now more than ever given that his life is in danger.
Now here is a man who takes Awambo and the whole of ODM head on (George Saitoti thinks you cannot be successful as the former is like an elephant that would take everyone to subdue)
This is one brave man who has shown willingness and stamina to fully exercise his constitutional rights without fear. I do no see a reason why he can hold a press conference, tell us on how his life is in danger yet not name these guys who are threatening him.
He has balls to point out the ills in ODM, some of which are just mere errors yet he cannot muster enough courage to name people who want him dead. He can describe RAO and the ODM brigade with all kinds of adjectives yet he cannot even dare to utter the names of these people who are threatening him although he reveals that they are ODM leaders.
How ironical. Is he such a coward or ODM is such a soft target? This man has written so much about the ills within ODM while the latter has largely ignored him. A lot of people even here in Jukwaa have followed suit. Its like the boy crying wolf story now. How careless can he be? With his past as an overzealous anti-ODM crusader with no real tangible reason, people will not listen to your cries.
This to me is anti Miguna. The Miguna I know is a bull fighter who takes on everyone on his path.
Lets assume he does not know these killers, what would prevent him from naming these messengers of death who were sent to his relatives?
On the contrary, lets assume that these guys indeed visited his relatives. Did they give their identifications and their ODM credentials for scrutiny or they merely stated that they work for ODM and his relatives took it as gospel truth? Did Miguna verify if indeed they were members of ODM?
Miguna would do all of us a favor by answering the above questions otherwise these cries will just be like your usual retort on the PM and ODM.

Subsahara,
If you went back to the piece you refer to, you will realize that it was a Jukwaa member who quoted the grapevine. Miguna distanced himself from the allegations and even offered an explanation of what he had told Jeff.
In this instance, it is Miguna himself alleging that people have been send to chop his head. He even addressed a press conference to that effect and has recorded a statement with the CID. There is a huge difference between the two.

Merlin, Your conclusion is based on an erroneous assumption that all involved are rational decision makers. They are not! Mank,I agree with you not all killings are for rational reasons. There are psychopaths in our society. There are also many threats based on likes, dislikes though they rarely result in actual killings. Nearly all real killings are based on rational of loosing position and/or wealth (this includes crime passionnelle)

Jukwaa is about sticking to ISSUES, not personalities.Let us go back to what Miguna said. He said he got an early morning phone call from his father in law. Is this true or false? He relayed what his father in law told him. Did he make this up? Did his father in law lie to him? Miguna talked about people conveying similar messages through his elder brother. Is this a fact or is Miguna peddling falsehoods? How about the correspondence from the Star?Is that also hogwash? Did Miguna say anywhere in his statement that it was Raila who went to his father in law or his brother? Let me tell you a little story to illustrate something. About a year and a half ago, a civil society pal of mine invited me for an evening chat over a couple of beers to a pub called Sango in the Ayany neighbourhood in Kibera. When I arrived, I found my friend already there. Seated next him was a middle aged man. My friend then formally introduced us: " Hey So and So (he used a nickname for his friend made popular because he used to be one of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga's bodyguards during the heydays of the original FORD) this is Onyango Oloo." At the mere mention of my name the man started glowering at me in silent rage. Realizing the cause of the man's discomfiture, my friend chuckled, cleared his throat and said: "No, he is NOT that Onyango Oloo! This one was in prison with Agwambo at Kamiti. He is one of us."The man visibly relaxed. He even managed a broad smile before admitting sheepishly: "I was planning to pour this beer in your face before punching you in the mouth. That Onyango Oloo makes me so mad!"My point is that this man who was then a total stranger to me was prepared to unleash violence on me on the mere assumption I was the person seen to be attacking and undermining Raila Odinga. Do some people think that Miguna should be threatened, attacked and even killed because he has expressed some critical opinions about his former boss?If so, say so. Onyango Oloo Nairobi OO,Please next time you meet MM, could you also advise him to be issues-oriented in his articles, press conferences and talk-shows. Only then shall we refrain from attacking his personality. Otherwise, you can as well assure him to expect more of the same (attack on his personality) from this forum. Unless, of course, we are kicked out by the admins for attacking the personality of MM. I will leave you with what Peter Tosh , one of the greatest Jah Prophets once said. It goes something like this: "If you live in a glass house, don't throw stones; and if you can't take blows, don't throw blows"Fair game! Or?
