A cordial reception awaited Miguna at Nyeri... B6K The reception of Miguna in Nyeri as I expect will be similar in Meru, Embu and Thika is nothing more than a reflection of differences in communities and how they behave. I hold the view that if Githongo had taken his book to Othaya, he probably would not have been lynched, but would have certainly received a very cool reception from the locals. As one gets removed to emotional characters the more cool heads one will find. The only think that does not change is that what happened in Mombasa was primitive, silly and unacceptable. What is not helping the situation is when Raila keeps calling MM 'wazimu' for that is how people tend to take a cue that MM deserves the reception he keeps getting! Well done Nyeri!

Kamale,I suspected as much earlier when I penned something about this but I have now more than one source in the know telling me the Mombasa incident was, in fact, stage managed. I have not bothered to go up with an update on my blog on this because I don't think it's worth it. That being the case, I join you in condemning it as primitive, silly and unacceptable, not that I wouldn't have condemned it at such if it were otherwise not.

A cordial reception awaited Miguna at Nyeri... Yup! A Hero's Welcome.. I wonder if he had stepped in Nyeri after 2007 election if could have been given the same reception, Now the plot thickens.. his sponsors " emperor" have been stripped naked.. soon the whole truth will be out in the public.. when there are many Cooks in the Kitchen the broth gets burned ;D Much like the Njamba of the 2002 elections couldn't get service at a Nyeri hotel in 2007? ;D

As for the reception of Miguna's message in the areas you mention, it could be more to do with the parable of the mustard seed than anything else. Deliver your seed (message) where the soil (audience) is ready & fertile & it will thrive. Deliver it on the rocks...well expect the worst. Why not hear from Miguna himself:

i dont know, but this tone of voice here is much more subdued maybe just me tnk and the restMaybe because there weren't people there trying to do him bodily harm. And spare me the fantasy about TNA territory or whatever skunk arguments many of you here want to foist onto us. Mombasa and Kisumu to the delight of many, many here @ jukwaa didn't leave him unscathed. Anyone with any human feelings would be bothered by that obnoxiousness amply displayed at the two previous venues.

tnk and the restMaybe because there weren't people there trying to do him bodily harm. i dont think that would explain it from what i've followed he makes the speeches first then physically interacts or is confronted by the audience so if his brash tone in nakuru, kisumu and mombasa was because of crowd intimidation then it would imply that he was anticipating rowdy crowds or it was otherwise meant to intimidate the crowd. i dont think that would be the reason after all the previous three venues he simply walked into the venue no fanfare but explosive action thereafter, but in this last one its the opposite some type fanfare into the venue, no drama and a much more subdued interview. like einstein said in a previous post, miguna's own approach to the book tour is also part of the problem anyway, wish him all the best and its what i've been saying along, that team managing the calendar needs to adjust so that he first visits favorable counties and then tackle the hostile ones towards the end of the tour. thats if its sales he's after, if its something else then by all means let him do his thang

With Raila's enemies galore, the world will be much happier should they be in a position to place any harm that comes to Miguna on Raila. Believe me. even if Miguna surfers mouth ulcers that would have to be assumed as Raila's responsibility. You and I know what that Canadian weather can do to a human being. Turn one crazy and that explains Miguna's state of mind. Any normal human being would never behave the way he does. So suppose I lent you money for a service that you later refuse to deliver, should I go on shouting and telling everyone your private life? This issue has really compromised you as the administrator and I believe (just like Job's and AO and other Jukwaa members' sentiments) we might just follow Mashada into oblivion.

The other thing is, when one is addressing an audience you can suss them out as you speak. To a certain extent you can even deduce who is agreeing or disagreeing with the gist of your arguments. also when one speaks to an audience, people aren't just silently listening. they react verbally or with body language. They cheer, nod their heads, or even boo etc. So, at some point in a presentation, one get a sense of where the audience is at. with, against you or a bit of both. So of cause miguna was uptight in those cities.

kathure,
you're probably right. anyway wish the man well, hope he beefs up his security and that the planners first focus on friendly or indifferent areas before he tackles the hostiles
hopefully there will not be any new sensational pieces to just remain relevant because i think no-one is going to pay attention after this but, ......

I have not read Miguna's book obviously, but a couple of my buddies who read the PDF version both told me that there was a section in the book where Miguna categorically stated that Kibaki stole the elections. I wonder if these Nyeri people know that Miguna accused their home-boy of theft and if they would still be chearing Miguna if they found out this fact. They (the Nyeri people) like me have obviously not read the book.

Miguna asks "where are the law suits"? Apparently he has not been served with a libel notice since landing back in KE two weeks ago. The Caroli Omondi's of this world were just posturing politically, it seems ;D Miguna tears into the Efficiency Monitoring Unit which white-washed Raila's minions, as it falls under his docket & couldn't possibly have carried out an impartial investigation of its boss. He also rips into The Inspectorate of State Corporations as Caroli & Isahakia supervise it. KACA & the DPP come under his wrath as well. This guy will not be cowed

This guy will not be cowed Ofcourse not he cant't be cowed ;D ;D ;D rumor has it he is being paid $$$$$ to keep rubbishing and accusing Raila each time Miguna opens his mouth or else no $$ no Police security escort all over the country, Ask Githongo when he wrote his book and tried to promote and sell it.. 1. Githongo never received special police security ( even though he had death threats on his life when he come back to Kenya. So what is so special about Miguna that he is backed 100% by the state apparatus police security? Answer; because they are using him to try and destroy Raila ha!ha!! it hasn't worked so far.. Example of how desperate Miguna and the force behind him are becoming.. screaming on top of their voices until the veins are Bulging puffing out from their necks.. with outlandish accusations that will not hold anywhere... it is really fun to watch them fall over themselves creating lies, stories and propaganda.. what a laugh.. ;D

Some people defend almost everything or rather anything, while others stand for what is both morally and ethically correct. The beauty of it all is that we choose where we fall.

This interview was a lot better. At least one could bear listening to him. 75% I would give him on performance! Pretty good improvement according to his standards seen so far.
A little bit of 'arrogance' is still visible. More effort is required on that end. Meeguna needs to tone down even further. Avoid 'grandising' the 'I'. It destroys any potential connection with the listeners who could have sympathised with him! Meeguna needs to make himself more identifiable and in syncwith his listeners, who can be supporters already committed to the various political/ethnical following or ideology, if you may call it.
Meeguna needs to make himself 'approachable' and 'touchable' to his listners. His aggressive demeanour has been the biggest 'put-off', which must be scary to many. Belittling all others whom he perceives as 'non-educated', certainly 'dis-endears' himself from his listeners. He needs to bring himself down from his ivory tower; Yes, you may be right in your statements against corruption and we certainly do like such views and commitment. But you scare the hell out of me when I witness your arrogance and how you choose to go about things!
What sort of a leader can Meeguna represent in himself? Arrogant, aggressive and an irrational bully? Or can he be someone who represents honesty, integrity, efficiency, tolerance, rationality, collectiveness, wisdom and 'good' leadership? Can he fit such necessary description of a people's leader? I say NO. At least not just yet.
You see, Meeguna raises some very valid points; Take for example the level of corruption thriving in the PM's office; nepotism, taribalism, dictatorial tendencies and what have you. Thes are allegations which do exist and are true to some extent! Are these the qualities of a leader we desire for our good nation? I would certainly say NO to that as well.
But what are the options suitable for the people to pursue henceforth? And what about those other guys? The PNU, G7, TNA, GDU, FSX, TFG, etc, etc. What about them? Yes, you mentioned here and there about them, but you certainly did not pursue them with equal vigour as you have on Raeella. Is that being balanced? And if not, why and why notor how are we supposed to fill in the blanks?
I know…you "don't want anyone to "love you" or to tell you anything becuase you are "not a conman" and perhaps even 'mighty'. But if you truly want to be seen to be a people's champion, it is inevitable that you must submit yourself to the 'will of the peopl'e!

Otherwise he would be splashing money to the downtrodden or promising them heaven. He certainly is a slave driver if given an opportunity to lord over others. He definitely is a workaholic and hence would make an excellent behind scene strategist and/or tactician. But leading people no, No, NO, nO, no. 2nd and 3rd red light MM appears to have made up his mind to concentrate on RAO. At UoN the 'jilted lover' adage sunk in properly hence the vindictiveness. MMs single minded mission now is to make sure through crook and by crook that RAO does not become PORK. All those other pretenders to the throne G7, etc will gladly bankroll his County tours and it is no crime. It is RAO's sycophants who will do more harm to their deity by reacting as they did in Kisumu and Mombasa, especially. Of course a cold calculating G7, etc supporter can harm MM and like ‘programmed robots’ all of us will see RAO's hand! After all MM is inflicting blows to RAO and not G7, etc. Hence any harm befalling MM is RAO’s hand work and hence the futility of the good Prof (ODM Secretary General) and BM (ODM’s Director of misInformation) proclamations as it is R911, rr and the multitudes celebrations that will point real fingers at the beneficiaries of MMs outage! Do not be surprised if MM starts singing praises to Mo1 and the current PORK.

G7 are looking to nail Raila desperately and if any harm were to come to Miguna as you mentioned above, they expect Kenyans to think, since Miguna vendetta has been specifically pointed at Raila, then the chess game plays out that he must be the one vying for his demise.. G7 or Miguna's rumored handlers are foolish enough to think that they can get away with such actions, but it is Miguna who would have made himself and easy target for them to act.. not realizing that the chess game is up and that Kenyans can see through the smoke screen

If you have paid a keen interest on Raila's kitendawili about wazimu (Miguna) and his (Raila's) cloths, you will hear him admit that he has been caught with his hand in the cookie jar and has decided to leave it at that in the hope that the matter dies away. But Mguna says, no, Kenyans deserve better, and I agree with him.
