When it comes to tell-all books by high ranking civil cervants just out of office, I am not all for freedom of expression. A man can access classified documents of his country due to his position. He cannot, in my opinion, just turn around a week later after quitting and pour them on the streets in a book. Maybe MM and Raila discussed Kenyan security problems with her neighbours in the light of the difficult relations within the GCG. Now I would say should they be of use to al-shabaab, that is treason. So MM,being a handy lawyer, knows that book will be tame, and only delving on his emotional relationship with Raila. Now about that, Freudian or otherwise analysed, Jukwaa has pretty much exhausted the depths.
But what we don't know is... if this book will create a backlash of laws in public service which will gag even those servants who want to talk because of conflicts in their consciences. Promise a long jail term if they are tempted to go deep-throat [like the guy in the watergate scandal who fed the washington post]

An arrogant Miguna using Citizen to market his book and chest thump about imaginary popularity. Ati Miguna used his personal funds to support Raila's candidature and even wrote Raila's speech. What if we retort these were purely for purposes of canvassing for a state job when ODM takes power? Tasteless interview. Will give a deeper response in due course. phil,Are you serious? Do you mean it has gone that low? Miguna is talking about writing speeches for Raila? That is pathetic. It is a cardinal rule in any civilized atmosphere that speech writers who are often involved very intimately with every leader would never go to media houses to brag about writing speeches. Typically any speech by these big guys may involve several writers with people handling specific parts and one person soliciting all the input from everyone. The selfish guys would lie to their bosses that it is all their brilliant work. We will find out where Miguna falls and we are not going to be afraid to say where he is lying. More honest speech writers actually let their boss to understand the different aspects and even the angle from different contributors. Ultimately the boss decides what to go with. I don't know if Miguna is parading names of people he asked to contribute to his so called speeches, but I am completely embarrassed for him. We know one of the guys who wrote George Bush speeches, particularly the one who inserted the axis of evil angle. His name is David Frum and he comes from a family of writers here in Canada. Mr. Frum is today a media personality in the US and have never ever been drawn into talking about his role in writing some of the fiercest of Bush speeches. He often simply shrugs off such questions by saying he was working for the president with many others. At least he is grown up enough to know the boundaries of human relations at work and in other settings. These things are never taught in schools. They are simply ethical human standards in the complex world of trust and work between grown people just as in partnerships between two adults. Even in the most acrimonious divorce there are limits beyond which people can only invite ridicule to themselves. Of course some details can be very entertaining to peeping tom types but I don't know if treating Kenyans as peeping toms serves any useful purpose. As for the book, I have said the same thing. Miguna is free to write books on anything he wants including his experiences as a Coalition Advisor to the PM. In any event Miguna has written books before. I don't know the circulation numbers but why wouldn't he free to write one now and if he wants to promote the same in talk shows, why NOT. This is a free world. My concern however is for Miguna to try to sell his book by withholding information he may know about corruption and theft of public money by whoever so that the information can only be found by people reading a book after paying money for it. Miguna is under obligation as a Kenyan and a civil servant to avail to the police and other relevant authorities any information he has on criminal activities that goes in his place of work. He cannot black mail Kenyans to have to buy his book for that information. That is just selfish opportunism and a charade by itself. What is also bizarre is that the same Miguna as late as a few days ago, after he claims he had sent the book to the publisher, made a deal to go back to work for the PM and only bolted after the PM seems to have gone back on his side of the deal. For that I support Miguna. But I ask why and how was Miguna going to work and report to the same person he claims he has released information about to show how bad the person is. Something just doesn't add up and it seems to me there is a lot of hot air and I am afraid a lot of it is beginning to look very selfish and geared towards personal gain. That too is Miguna's right to pursue just as it is our right to call it as we see it and we will. No problem. If Miguna wants to talk about integrity without hypocricy I am all for it. Lets have that discussion. It is about time. And phil, could you please post the citizen Miguna talk. I am not interested in the Caroli stuff. I have never liked Caroli myself, based on what we have heard so I really don't care much what he says. Others may.

I doubt whether Miguna's much awaited comic book will contain enough dirt to change the course of history. I guess we'll have to wait and see but it likely will be a vengeful regurgitation of the K24 interviews… only in much more grandiose verbiage.
The question is, will OO have the goodwill and holiday cheer to serialize it on Jukwaa. It'll save us some cash.

I watched the Newsmakers segment on Citizen last night & it might as well have been renamed Noisemakers.
His posture was also a tad disrespectful in my view. The hand to crotch thing as you are being interviewed by a lady is rather disturbing. This guy needs to go back to charm school to get some lessons on etiquette & manners as his "confidence" knows no bounds.

This guy doesnt seem to know whether he is coming or going! Mara he wants the job, mara he doesnt, mara he wants his dignity back, yet he himself is pissing on it! At the sma etime hes "sitting pretty" and proud to be percieved as proud and arrogant.
What a revealing interview, to those who had never seen him in person!
But its good hes a least shown us how disorganised and absoluelty witless the PM is - travelling all the way to Minesota without even an idea on what he was going to do or say! Shame on you Prime Minister! This guy has made you and this is how you repay him!

Shame on you Prime Minister! This guy has made you and this is how you repay him! Afrigun,I know a thing or two about those so called speeches. Ask Miguna, he knows what I am talking about. Is there any chance Citizen TV can come to my crib in Toronto at the Esplanade. God I will have to lock the boy up because I am afraid he could order the camera and TV crew out of his house and bang the door behind them. But the fact is Raila never came to Minnesota or Toronto to make speeches. He came here to meet people, interact with them and more importantly to answer their questions something he is extremely good at. I have seen him around here many times and his wit, charm and honesty when answering questions is second to none. Many times the VIPs who accompany him hardly stay in these meetings for the whole session, but Raila alaways stays until he has answered every question and his interaction with people is superb. Miguna does not have any such skills. He has other skills of course as we all do. So Miguna going to Minnesota and his first concern being where the speech is says more about Miguna's own priorities than Raila's. At best this is petty and at worst it is the rantings of a man whose ego has gone nuts. That is Miguna's problem not Raila's and if these are the so called manenos for which we are being ordered to buy some book then we have some serious gold diggers to deal with. If Miguna was writing the so called speeches and travelling with his own money to get a job paid for by the tax payer, shame on him. For all we know Miguna was working with ODM to get nominated for the Nyando seat just as others were working with ODM for similar possibilities in other seats. It is not Raila's fault that the people of Nyando did not pick Miguna at that time. There is always next time. Many of us worked and helped ODM not because we wanted to be M.Ps nor even remotely interested in being handed government jobs. I for one would never take one of those things. I have lived without any and will continue to do so very comfortably. Miguna as a Coalition Advisor to the PM did a superb job and nobody will ever take that away from him not withstanding his current intoxicating pettiness and selfishness. We are not going to be afraid to tell him that even to his face. He knows us and he knows we are not interested in jobs or any of that stuff and we have never been scared of anybody.

It was hilarious. I am going to have to show the boy that today after I come back from work. He often says my typing is too slow and I tell him he has grown up with the computers. I demand we be judged both by how neat our hand written material is. His mother is of no help is this great battle. She says she is not interested in the battle of the Flinstones. Talk about a misguided comparison!. This is absurd. Then Miguna talked about his Office Messenger, Personal Assistant, Driver (three of them apparently), Body guard etc and I said to myself there is a reson our country is so screwed up. This is not just about Miguna. In kenya today all senior personel has that kind of arrangement. Here is the question: Just what exactly do we need Office Messengers for in the 21st century when we have cell phones and internet whereby any staff person can send memos and info instantly to those involved without moving from their chair (one finger computer gig nothwithstanding) or even from their blackberry and what not. We are insane. Office messengers were used by wakolonis because there were no phones, no lines of communication except for the good old telegraph at the post office. Even in the villages today you could be laughed out of your cave if you are sending little boys to go tell auntie across the pond that uncle Ojwang' Hatari has passed away. You use the godamn cell phone available in every home. When is our country going to grow up people. Even the people who "invented" those things no longer use them. Why do we insist on being so backward? I will stop there before I ruin Miguna's house party in Runda. The show must go ON and ON.

Watching that video is extremely painful for many reasons. But first, why do we keep on commenting about Miguna and his tirades? Wouldn't it be just enough to ignore him and move on? No, we can't because for more than one reason, Miguna diatribe invokes a sense of urgency to respond because he is quite adept at lying and shouting about it.
Raila odinga doesn't prepare speeches as such because he always treats his audience as human beings, who are diverse and different in their own way. Therefore he gives them a chance to inform his interaction with them. This is called being self aware, as a leader, to create a platform where you can dialogue with your audience as your peers and motivate them to engage you with their innermost concerns. This is something that many African leaders have failed to do on many occasions....they tend to treat their audience as some sort of dead wood, who are spoken at, and to, rather than conversed with.
That is probably one of the reasions why we (africans) have many failed leadership..who listen to the inner core rather than to their people.
It is ironical that miguna accuses raila of not being prepared, and in the same video, miguna exposes his children TO HIS TYRANNY....THE kids look scared and perpelexed at why their father seems so angry and bitter. The little girl, with her hands folded neatly in front, speaking of wanting to be a doctor is excrutiating to watch. Reminds the dear watcher of the bygone ages, when children were expected to tell guests what their dad wanted them to be... a desire to please your arrogant family than be yourself...even before you know what you really want to be... IT TAKES AWAY THE CREATIVITY AND KILLS THAT OPEN MINDEDNESS THAT KIDS OF TODAY FLOURISH IN. Kids, in this day and age, should be allowed to freely say ..'I dont know what I want to be' or even 'I don't care' ...or something like that which gives them a room to explore the world freely and make choices as they mature and are nurtured into adulthood.
AND in this age of permanently stored info...that little kid wouldn't be happy in future watching that silly episode.
But that is miguna for you, embarassing his kids in the name of fighting raila is just one of those games.. And he is captured watching a lot of nigerian witchcraft-father sleeps with daughter in law..mother have affair with bodyguard...nonsense infested 'movies', most of which should not be watched by children of a certain age. A terribly careless man.
And I don't think he is a very good speech writer if you ask me...

"The reason you have an advisor, is for him to advise you on things you dont know, and I know things he (Raila) doesnt know."
Really. What a suprise!!! Enlighten us some more.
Miguna Miguna, what can I say about this man that hasn't been said already? He cannot sink any lower than this. He should just chill and release his book already, we are waiting for it.
Why, Why again does Miguna see the need of dragging his chilren into this soap opera? These kids at some point will have to go back to school and may have to put up with bullies amongst other things.
I seriously think there may be more serious underlying personality issues going on here. Only person I know who cries and laughs at the same time.

I was utterly surprised that the beautiful little girls were brought into this soap opera. Completely unnecessary! Adongo, you made the same observations I did regarding the one finger typing. Also, totally unnecessary. That was hilarious ;D !!Reminds me of my first interaction with computers. ;D Indeed a soap opera.

The write up by Adongo Ogony, who is by the way, Migunas friend, goes to show that Miguna has lost it big time (my words).
I knew that Miguna was a jingoistic and egoistic person but by claiming that without him Raila cannot even deliver a speech is going overboard with the hate propaganda. In my opinion, some of Railas best speeches are done without any notes (reading). Another thing I’m sure about is that if Raila wanted a speech writer he would find one in no time. The only issue I have with Raila is failing to conclude this Miguna issue as soon as possible. He has let the matter go on for too long for no reason. He must let Miguna go or bring him back if he wishes.
Miguna is on record as having met Raila in 2006. As far as I know, Raila was Agwambo long before this time. It goes without saying that Miguna has not contributed to Railas rise to the top and if he has then his contribution is insignificant. I’m shocked at the claims that he is the one who used to tell Raila what to do and say. Talk about being full of oneself.
The more Miguna continues with his erratic behavior the more he puts off people. He indicated that he would like to be given an equivalent job elsewhere. My question is who would like to work with Miguna Miguna. The PM might find it hard if not impossible to get him an alternative job. But since he claims that he has skills that others don’t possess, I guess he will just throw himself in the job market and get one.
By the way, MM was running a newspaper some time ago. What happened to it? A man with such “great managerial skills” cannot have folded up a paper within a year or so.
As for his style of writing style I call it “pecking”. Its rather cool.

OO, please remind your friend that too much ego is tragic. He'll lose in the long term unless he can cut the balance as I mentioned earlier. By the way since u r so close with MM, have u bothered to ask him why he was still willing to work for RAO, yet his former boss is such a corrupt man? If he hadn't been suspended in the first place then what would have happened? ....the cookie jar was good until it got empty!! I don't see any integrity in this guy and he'ds no different from the rest of our leaders.

He is unknowingly putting some labels on the family. As I have said before, he needs help. But aparently some of his friends believe in him and believe in what he is undertaking. Miguna Miguna is writing a book and for it to sell it he has to market it, people might think that he is ruining himself by talking a lot but the fact is the bridge was burnt long time ago when he was suspended, there was no way he could have gone back to the same job and live happily ever after. He has to look beyond Raila, this year will be the last time Raila has the chance to ascend to presidency and become relevant in Kenyan politics, if he losses then there is no 2016 and those using Raila's name for their own benefits will be like Moi's orphans, so Miguna should stand up for himself now, it might not be popular but one thing i know Miguna is as stubborn as Raila, there is something about Miguna that is characteristic of Raila and that is why Raila has fanatic followers, he doesn't fear and speaks his mind, the reason why he was detained by Moi is not that he was a YES man. Miguna has life after this, and with his five beautiful children who depends on him and looks upon him for protection, let the father take care of his family and he has my support, Miguna as done a lot for ODM and Raila and he deserves much better than Caroli, Orengo,Midiwo nor Isahakia. SELL BOOKS MR I WILL SUPPORT YOU.
