It is being reported that Hassan Omar is on his way out of the ODM nomination and is claiming lack of transparency in the nomination process!
Now I cannot hide my glee when this charlatan faces the true meaning of politics! Shame all he did for the master has not been rewarded. Those following ICC know what I mean!

I anticipate a similar thing happening in Nairobi with the parting of ways by Kisia to join a CORD affiliate which will lead to the loss of the governor seat! |

A small correction.
I was listening to the Dholuo station Ramogi FM from around 4:30 am this January 17th morning (Kenyan time). On the six o'clock news bulletin, there was an item to the effect that Hassan Omar had withdrawn from the ODM nomination process allegedly citing lack of transparency and so on.
Since Hassan is a friend, comrade and professional civil society colleague, I decided to verify this for myself.
I sent him a text message.
Then I called him.
Hassan said he was STILL in the CORD alliance.
But he was now seeking the Senatorial seat on a Wiper ticket, rather than ODM. He remains firmly part of the Raila for President campaign.
I guess we will have to wait for the voters' verdict on March 4, 2013 to see whether he will be the inaugural Senator for Mombasa County after going head to head with Kajembe, Balala, Mwaruwa and any other aspirant.

If you note this is a start to the disintegration of ODM now CORD in Mombasa County .All aspirants running for political seats were at one time in ODM now CORD and it is the interference by Raila which has led to the divisions Governor -> Suleiman Shabal, Hassan Joho, Abdalla Mwaruwa, Ibrahim Babangida Senator -> Najib Balala, Ramadhan Kajembe, Omar Hassan. As it stands now you can already figure out who will be the Governor and Senator come Mar 04 Governor -Suleiman ShabalSenator - Najib BalalaWhen Balala left Kanu for Narc in 2002 we saw it as a political blunder and miscalculation and in 2007 when he was fighting for political survival against the then mayor Taib he surprised us by bagging the direct nomination ticket from ODM . Hassan Omar, coming for the civil society, has yet to get to grips with party politics where it is an unwritten rule that you have to fight for everything. The fact of the matter is that Mzee Kajembe is more adept grassroot mobiliser than Omar. Moreover Omar has given a lot of his time articulating national issues for ODM and for Raila Odinga as he remains a key member of lobby group FORA. Mombasa has its dynamics which he will have to contend with since ODM is not in business of handing out direct nominations. In other words, in whichever party he goes, Hassan Omar will still have to reinvigorate his campaign. The bigger battle is winning the nomination of CORD. If he gets that, then he is as good as elected. Balala is going nowhere. |

So when you say a running mate from the other party, which one and how do you arrive at that? Secondly, what about in places like Ukambani and Luo Nyanza where there is only wiper and ODM respectively, how do you effect this? My understanding of the clause you refer to only applies to the president and his deputy. We all listened to the Kalembes and the Wavinyas rubbish what you are saying, in fact Prof. Kaloki categorically stated that NEB board as constituted is unconstitutional and all those earlier arrangements by wakina Dalmas werr reversed. It is there true as Kamale states that the Kisias, Hassans and all TIP, Mkenya solidarity etc candidates will run, not unless they choose not to on their own or if they are bought to step down. Otherwise there is nothing in the coalition agreement that stops them from running. |

Kindly explain to us in a simple language what exactly is going on, by breaking down the dual noms process in the two cats. Wsan't Msa county not supposed to have 'joint noms' and how? |

I have always liked Suleiman Shabal from Day 1, Have you watched the Joho documentary about his last five years, he seems to have a good grassroots campaign going in for him.

Kindly explain to us in a simple language what exactly is going on, by breaking down the dual noms process in the two cats. The fact of the matter is that CORD National Election Board will issue certificates for nominees from CORD constituent parties. CORD is the only coalition recognized by IEBC. |
