Word on the ground is that one Najib Balala is soon launching a political party of his own. He "left" ODM to find a place in KKK/G7 party but found himself unwelcome. Unlike Kajudas who keeps on begging Uhuruto for a slot in the group, he is too proud for that kind of thing. He has decided to go his own way if Agwambo does not fish him back. I will wait and see.
The moto part of Najibs siasa is that he might be beaten badly in the next elections. He intends to run for governor.

wycliff and his boss, agwambo in luhya enclave of western kenya where joto la siasa inazidi kupanda with a hostile media and poisoned environment, kenya's most vibrant and dominant political party, odm is finding itself in a familiar orbit contrary to the fears and wishes of the misguided critics. as our respected member phil, ;D once counseled, odm as a party always has strategic survival plans starting with plan a,b to c ! because i am in a good mood, i will let slip plan e: to have agwambo relinquish the party leadership post to musalia mudavadi given that as president-in-waiting, agwambo's hand will be too full for party politics. the idea if you ask me is three fold: first is to test the deputy party leader's mettle as a leader and in effect groom him for 2021 when agwambo under a committed and vibrant party would have delivered his assignment. i would be arguing to wycliff and his handlers like kibisu kabatesi that deputy party leader would be the winner in this arrangement as the post of party leader would mean he would have a say on the odm cabinet appointments, who become the next speaker, majority and even minority party leader. i am aware and i do agree with them, that the gubernatorial post may be lowly a post for someone who has been a vp and long serving cabinet minister. so far there is no indication that wycliff is helbent on wrecking the party and the siasa moto moto bit is that contrary to popular belief that his preferred option is agwambo's archille heel, this is the method that we may pull a fast one with. the other plans cannot be revealed here for obvious reasons.

"kenya's most vibrant and dominant political party"
@ Dada Nereah
ODM isn't any better than the other tribal outfits calling themselves political parties. How comes the only "known" faces we watch whining on the news are all from the same area? You know them, yaani kina Nyong'o, Midiwo, Orengo, Caroli, Kajwang' and Oburu? Is that really the face of Kenya? These are the same characters who hounded our brave Big Mig out of his job as if he was a sadistic serial killer. How sad. Never mind...

Dada Nereah,That is not possible before the next elections, unless Raila wants to relinquish the PM post too to Mudavadi. Raila is the PM today by virtue of his being the leader of ODM, the majority party in parliament.

Musalia Mudavadi's plan B is the worst kept secret in Nairobi. This is someone who Raila personally lifted out of forced retirement and placed on the national radar; and went further to protect when Cemetary Scandal allegations became too hot to handle. Talk of naivety. Musalia himself forgets it is Bonny Khalwale who led censure motions against him in parliament is the same Bonny purporting to lead his presidential campaign team in Western. We wait to see if Bonny Khalwale will put his money where his mouth is. Coming from someone who had no qualms defecting to New FORD-K after disagreeing with his 'Luhya' leaders in FORD-K, and now promising to support an ODM 'Luhya' presidential candidate, Bonny Khalwale must imagine residents of Western Kenya are kindergaten voters. Bure kabisa.

This is someone who Raila personally lifted out of forced retirement and placed on the national radar; and went further to protect when Cemetary Scandal allegations became too hot to handle. Funny how the truth eventually comes out. So Raila consciously sought out Mudavadi from his "forced retirement" to create the now defunct Pentagon? He even went "further to protect" a corrupt Mudavadi over the cemetery scandal (forget for a minute that Mudavadi was already corrupted by Goldenberg even before his "forced retirement", wink wink) in order to save his wing of the GCG. Are these really the actions of a reformer or a status quoist? Is this really the right man to lead us towards the Kenya we want?

"kenya's most vibrant and dominant political party"@ Dada Nereah ODM isn't any better than the other tribal outfits calling themselves political parties. Dear Destiny,Now, this is a delicate one I rather would have avoided. But you know how life is, a question once asked can be withdrawn, but it remains asked even if ignored. But the walimu in the house can only have the excuse of deferment: I will come back later to you on that. So please abide my lateness. For those of us who showed much distaste at, and spent volumes castigating what they identified as the overly nepotistic composition of the Kibaki court and her power brokers, MK Maffia, the pendulum now swings back with a merciless thud upon us. Thanx to Destiny.Indeed the geographical bias, which can be succesfully qualified as uni-ethnic, is all too apparent in that array of names you parade. Yet I plead a case of nuance, even at the risk of embarking on a tragic-comic and quixotic hair-splitting endeavour. Those names you put, are not even the WORST showcase of the dreaded omena-maffia that SHOULD sorrouND Raila-ODM --the vintage, pragmatic and accomodative and progressive brand of Luo nationalism; these ones constitute the fwamka-think tank. You will always notice the political rot and degeneration when Otieno Dalmas's mind is not included. --See the handling of the Miguna sacking. Orengo is contemptuously refered to as 'jating handbag' or 'macha nyiek Idda, which is a dholuo round about way of saying he competes with that lady for the affections of.. The once mighty mind of Anyang' Nyong'o is 'mihudhi' nowadays, which should mean rubbish or sterile sperm. The way he reads the press releases like a zombie should warn you of a waning intellect. Jakoyo is guok manyuru, ie the female dog with cubs, fiercely protecting the nest and ready to fang anybody in the vicinity. But no longterm vision other than maternal instinct to protect at all costs. My man Kajwang' has endeared himself to his public role as the court's fool and buffoon. And fwamka means stale, as in stale fish. So you can infer what a fwamka-think tank implies for Jokarech, or Fish people. All these fwamka's see themselves as having the historic mission of putting one of our own in the office of PORK. Raila is the man to redeem the Luo jinx which put paid to the elite contenders of old, Jaramogi, Mboya TJ, Ouko Robby. It is a determined and powerful constituency within Luo nationalism, but it has run into another powerful constituency within Luo conciousness: The pride of powerful thinking. The presidency of Kenya is not worth a general mobilisation of all Luo resources {I&M} as if the survival of the community is threatened. Kenya remains in a post-colonial jinx and capitalist retard, which necessitates millitant opposition to any government which shall pretend to run her without a revolutionary economic reform programme. And we have enough historical evidence on Raila to state that he has the offings of a reform candidate, but not the revolutionary candidate. And his performance as PM in the GCG monstrosity? [judge for yourself which side the coin lands] One can then think and see, that the Luo having been multitudinously in the progressive movements in resistance to the post colonial economic suffrage under Kenyatta and Moi and Baba Jimmy, can not be expected to throw in the towel just because one of their own is to inherit the wheels of that expropriative machinery... [And therein, composing n answer, lies the differences between omena and fwamka]Now Destiny, let us take a tea brake. I will be back. -------------- PS: Now we watch the fwamka think-tank bent on remaining only with the Luo end of the so called Western Alliance. A rudimentary rump of the once mighty ODM. A very fishy business. If these men in their power portfolios --Immigration, Land etc, had delivered services to set themselves down as national leaders, performed, all would be well without irony on the western front (or the lake shore for that matter). But even within Nyanza, they would be hard-pressed to maintain their seats. That is why during the recent ODM locational elections, even Homeland Nyanza was not spared chaos. That is the fwamka leadership for you. And I do not see it propelling Raila to State House now. It would be a snakes pit. Raila can win I think. But not with his fwamka-think tank. Neither can he win with the Duol I come from. But if he re-invents the omena-think tank, he will sail all the way! methinks.

khamisi mp, george khaniri who is arguably the longest serving mp in ingoland(his not been voted out since elected in a by-election over 15 years ago) fired the first warning shot at an event in his constituency over the weekend.
i heard his soundbite over my mother's kitchen radio,in gem ,warning that we(meaning mudavadi supporters and not to be mistaken by luhyas or western) would keep ''our''options open if the odm presidential race is not open, free and fair.he repeated the mantra that they(again mudavadi and his supporters) would only accept the outcome if they are convinced that mudavadi lost the contest clean and square.
the siasa moto moto bit is that already there is a precedence in the odm presidential nomination contest whose lead up and upto the wire was devoid of this fitina, uhasidi, husda na hulka chafu.
the only thing that has changed as i have stated before is that mudavadi is finally being taken note of by his discerning core constituency which nevertheless retains a fiercely independent disposition and would in all probability, vote him out in next elections if fails to rally raila and rest of kenyans behind him.
ukweli ni kwamba the alternative is to scary if not poison chalice.charity who i can authoritatively state is still wycliff's staunch ally and may jump ship with him, is unlike wycliffe a political animal and opportunist per excellence.
even as khaniri thumbs his chest, the answers mudavadi's core constituency demands are:
if we as khaniri puts it,walks away and veers to the far right of kenyan centre, will it polarize the anti-agwambo rank and file or consolidate them into a potent political force?
has mudavadi secured the mbas(as kiraitu calls it) fare for his troops and,how sure are ''we'' that this mba

as i prepare to join my roundtable, the self styled hurghligham consensus group in monitoring the isaak hassan & co's press conference on kenya's next election date,i could not help noticing ngunyi playing mischief with jeff the koinange at the bench. www.nimd.org/includes/thumb.php?d=documents/P/photo_article_njeri_kabeberi_20100611140024.jpg&w=270&q=100according to this cowboy analyst who walks with the swagger of an urban misfit, musalia mudavadi who has never featured even close to lady martha karua who i adoringly refers to as apondi ;D in this years opinion polls, will be the next president of kenya.he however had rider: only if uhuru kenyatta doesn't run for presidency. and if uhuru runs, mudavadi is his safe bet for deputy president. according to the political gospel of mutahi, musalia will beat kenya's all time favourite raila amollo odinga hands down in a political contest.in fact he believes that there would not be even a run off. mutahi is convinced that musalia has disorganised odm and raila so much so that he will either take over odm or leave it in shreds when he walks away.the siasa moto moto bit is that george muthengi kinuthia saitoti must be on the ballot and doesn't need introduction to the core base that is uhuru's pivotal political constituency and neither to william ruto'seugene wamalwa knows his relevance and survival is not only on propping the waning wamalwa brand but beating shrewed and long serving fellow bukusu and nairobi insider, moses the wentangula. mutahi says musalia mudavadi (and not saitoti) is the president kenya shallvote for after kibaki because in his words, the next leader kenya want is one leader like kibaki! neither controversial nor decisive. what amuses me about this cowboy analyst's take is his mischievous disregard of or the reversal of the kenyan political trajectory. ngunyi want us to imagine that kalonzo the musyoka, apondi, strategic charity ngilu, george saitoti and the also runs that are wetangula and peter kenneth not mentioning bondo district's product, raphael my son tuju are way below mudavadi who i can still state without fear of contradiction, has no core constituency.

Mudavadi now reaches out to Balala and Ngilu by david mwereDeputy Prime minister Musalia Mudavadi is in talks with Water Minister Charity Ngilu and former tourism minister Najib Balala for a possible pact ahead of the next elections, in what could become a third force in the raging Kibaki succession power intrigues. The three who originally belonged to the “unofficial†ODM top policy making organ, the Pentagon, have been involved in a series of meetings after their presumed fall out in their party. The trio is said be enjoying goodwill from, hitherto Prime Minister Raila Odinga Odinga allies in Rift Valley; Minister Sally Kosgei (Agriculture) and Margaret Kamar(Higher Education). Also said to be in the fold albeit tacitly is ODM Chairman Henry Kosgei. The group under the leadership of Mudavadi may have identified the Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) associated with a politician Dr Julia Ojiambo, in his ambition to succeed President Mwai Kibaki. prof. julia ojiambo An MP from the Coast region and a close ally of the DPM says that the decision to reach out to Ojiambo was necessitated by 'a political broker’ from rift valley and that LPK has already complied with the Political Parties Act. “We are formulating a national lineup that will reflect the gender rule and regional representation. The reflections are also inclined with the marginalization group and the disability quotient,†he says. The DPM’s resolve could have been informed on the premise that his support in the Western bloc, his homeland area could plunge radically if he fails to put up a strong bid. He has to show cause to have fought a good war in the current ODM circumstances. najib balala The latest development exposes the emergence of a third force in the Kibaki succession contest after, Raila’s ODM and the G& Alliance, associated with a former Finance minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North William Ruto. The Alliance has already transformed into the National Alliance Party of Kenya under whose ticket Uhuru is expected to run. It is not yet clear whether Ruto will back Uhuru for the presidency but the materialization of Mudavadi could pose serious implications to the alliance’s support in rift valley.Balala who is the Mvita MP was sacked in the recent cabinet reshuffle for going against the ODM grain. He has been a great critic of the PM and is expected to lead the Coast vote to the DPM’s camp.Ngilu’s political direction though, has been confounding. She has also been on the internal Security minister George Saitoti’s radar. Mudavadi who has been on the countrywide tour to meet ODM delegates for support in the party’s nomination against his party boss, Prime Minister Raila Odinga, may have made a final decision after his wishes were “thwarted†in the party. The turn round of his fallout with the PM might has been evident when the party chose to comply with the provisions of the Political Parties Act without amending its constitution that gives the party leader(Raila Odinga)a direct ticket to contest the presidency. ODM’s Secretary General Anyang Nyongo says the party’s National Executive Council(NEC) meeting that was also attended by Mudavadi resolved that the party would prioritized its compliance with Section 51(1)(a) of the Political Parties Act which requires all parties to be compliant within 180 days with effect from 1st November,2011,failure to which the party risked deregistration. kaluki ngilu “Acting on the resolution of NEC, ODM also gave the Registrar of Political Parties notice of the party’s intention, as required by section 20(1) of the Political Parties Act. To amend Artickle6.2.1 of ODM constitution in accordance to which the Party Leader becomes the automatic Part’s Presidential candidate,†says Nyong’o in a statement. Section 20 of Political Parties Act 2011, requires parties to seek registration first before they become competent to amend their constitution or rules. However, the Raila Odinga for President Secretariat has dismissed allegations that the DPM was being frustrated. The statement; Setting the ODM nomination Debate Straight, says the party was aware of external forces keen to infiltrate the party. In Rift Valley, Musalia is said to be working closely with Agriculture minister Dr Sally Kosgey, Higher Education Minister Prof.Margaret Kamar and Tinderet MP Henry Kosgey among a host of other politicians from the region. He was widely expected to lead the party in presentation of its compliance instruments to the registrar of political parties but did not turn up. Belgut MP Charles Keter, who is in the Ruto camp, says the rift valley politics could change drastically depending the route Mudavadi takes. “The DPM’s resolve to be on the ballot paper could make it easier for the three to prosper in their new roles. Incase ODM doesn’t change the rules and Mudavadi makes the move, it could be an attractive offer the people of rift valley and especially the Kalenjin community, “says Keter.
keter: mudavadi attractive more than ruto
“If by any means the DPM choose to support his current party boss then he is assured that the rift valley vote will go to waste. The reality on the ground is that Mudavadi appears more attractive than Ruto!â€
However, those close to the coming out of Mudavadi are cautious that if they leave ODM, that enjoys majority following across the country as per the recent opinion polls, they could form a weak team. It is this reasoning that Mudavadi’s camp is reaching out to other parties to bolster his bid. New Ford Kenya’s Shoita Shitanda of Malava and Ikolomani MP Bonny Khalwale have come up strong to support his bid. Shitanda who is also the Housing Minister and Khalalwe are expected to lead Mudavadi’s bid in Western Kenya.Though initially the two were for Saboti MP Eugene Wamalwa,Mudavadi’s bid must have dwarfed Wamalwa’s aspiration. “It is not a secret that we are for the DPM.We as members of New Ford Kenya we are ready to give him the vessel to state house,†says Khalawe source: the sunday expresscontact: info@sundayexpressnews.com tel(+254)020-2218593

Close associates of Kibaki appear to have switched camp to Mudavadi after he joined UDF, a party allegedly conceived by his Private Secretary Nick Wanjohi. Kibaki’s nephew Assistant minister Nderitu Muriithi and the renown Othaya politician Mary Wambui are closely linked to the party. On Thursday, Kalonzo, the President’s principle assistant who many fear is being sidelined said he was still in the G7 alliance but insisted he was the most senior and therefore expected support from his “junior” colleagues. www.standardmedia.co.ke/?articleID=2000059522&pageNo=2An official at Mr Mudavadi’s party who did not wish to be named claimed Prof Wanjohi met Mr Mudavadi at his home in Nairobi before making a trip the DPM’s Mululu home a few days before he ditched the ODM last month.
“We were told at the last minute that he will be joining us,said the official. “We are interim officials and of course we get orders from certain people.” ” www.nation.co.ke/News/politics/-/1064/1423382/-/item/1/-/symy4kz/-/index.html

“We are interim officials and of course we get orders from certain people.” ” www.nation.co.ke/News/politics/-/1064/1423382/-/item/1/-/symy4kz/-/index.htmlAah, the mischievous professor Wanjohi! The man who organized the seminar at GSU headquarters where returning officers were trained on their duties in the run to 2007 elections! Michael Gichangi later claimed he warned his ilk from such mischief to no avail! I wonder what else the troubled mind of the professor is cooking up in the dark! It wont be good, if you see his name at the latest scam at the KAA land and the Standard Loan! [Nairobi Law Monthly]

Meanwhile, political temperatures are simmering within Mt. Kenya; where the real project is budding. Uhuru Kenyatta and his die-hard sidekicks like Lewis Nguyai refused to join Kiraitu’s Alliance “mbus”, ignored Saitoti’s PNU, snubbed Kiunjuri’s GNU, dismissed the moribund DP…and now the panic sets in. Aspiring Mt. Kenya area candidates from constituencies currently represented by GNU (Kiunjuri et al.), Alliance (Kiraitu et al.), PNU (a majority) & DP – those opposing these incumbent MPs - have already lined up to secure early-bird TNA recognition. They are already carrying Uhuru’s water cans in their respective constituencies. Realignment panic and fear of euphoric waves has set in. TNA is essentially throwing its weight in the former Central – literally forcing all politicians to line behind this budding personality cult around Uhuru’s TNA! Will wakina Kiraitu and Kiunjuri swallow humble pies and make acrobatic stunts into TNA? Political junkies better sit baaaack and watch these developments!!! www.the-star.co.ke/national/national/79485-uhuru-assures-fair-nomination-in-tna
