My clear position is that Miguna was lying in those bombastic statements and I am challenging him to prove me wrong and if he can't to apologize to Kenyans for lying to them. I am questioning Miguna's integrity on his claims on the PEV issue. I have stated that Miguna and myself have talked at length about the PEV issues and the ICC cases. Based on what I know I can safely conclude that Miguna's outburst on the PEV issue was a pack of lies, probably meant to spice up the sales for his book. I find that reprehensible and I want to say so loudly and clearly. But I would be damned to sit around and put up with lies from any quarter, specifically with something as deadly as the PEV issue which is going to haunt this country for a very long time to come. I am doing the same thing Miguna is doing. Holding folks accountable. That is all. I do not know MM, but I was at the Peeling Back the Mask book launch. I do not also know and neither have I met AO. But I think on reflection Adongo is correct. Its possible MM was carried away as many politicians and mike lovers do when there is an attentive crowd responding enthusiastically to them. When MM first uttered the words 'come baby come' it was in reference to threats to sue him. And its possible this was directed to the likes of Caroli Omondi and anyone who dares refute the contents of Peeling Back the Mask. The crowd roared its approval and he (MM) went to cloud 9 (although he states he neither drinks nor smokes). When he dared ODM leaders to 'kiss his feet' or he can take them to Hague, in my humble observation he was more of a possessed man. Anger. Its almost like in those evagelical summons when the preacher starts froothing in the mouth and the scared folk start confessing by talking in tongues. And the beauty is that it was all alive on TV stations. But again I could be wrong but I think if one has to take a side Adongo is correct although he was not present in the room. MM was being bombastic with 'kiss my feet'. What I do not understand is him repeating it on the bench at K24. If he did not confess he does not drink nor smoke, I would have said he was still 'high' but

Reporter,The Chairman of CIC has actually criticized Eugene Wamalwa's antics - which have actually been fully endorsed by the Kibaki-Chaired Cabinet. The cabinet has largely agreed with these anti-reform measures; which is a sign of what is likely to happen in Parliament. Most in the cabinet are themselves ethically and morally challenged fellas themselves. Cabinet Is Fighting A ‘Radical Surgery’ Of The Executive www.the-star.co.ke/opinions/others/89592-cabinet-is-fighting-a-radical-surgery-of-the-executiveChapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya is very broad. It prescribes a framework of what is expected of those aspiring for public offices including elective positions. Such expectations include; personal conduct in respect of one’s past and present behaviour while in public office as well as financial probity while in public office. However, the Constitution provides for Parliament to enact laws to operationalise Chapter Six. It is now in respect of this Constitutional requirement that the fate of Chapter Six, especially its enforcement, hangs in balance. The matter at issue is that the original draft that was intended to operationalise Chapter Six has been considerably diluted by the Executive through deletions of critical clauses by the Cabinet. The clauses in question which the current Bill omits relate to: vetting of persons aspiring for elective posts; requirement that persons aspiring for elective posts declare their wealth, assets & liabilities; and that such candidates secure certificates of clearance from both the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA); among other relevant statutory bodies. It is unfortunate, though, to note that since the promulgation of the Constitution in August 2010, the enactment of laws intended to operationalise certain provisions in the Constitution has been marred by controversy and sectarian interests especially within the Executive. Presently, the Executive comprises of Ministers drawn from ODM and PNU sides of Government; including their respective allies. Admittedly, both sides of the Executive have vested interests in the Kibaki Succession and would not wish to have their respective candidates subjected to such stringent vetting and requirements as envisaged by the said Bill in its original version. Although Parliament is the law-making organ of the government, our current Parliament as constituted appears incapable of enacting fair, just and effective laws. This is largely due to their selfish and vested interests. Interestingly, scores of applicants for public offices have been subjected to rigorous vetting and screening at the instigation and insistence of both the Executive and Parliament. In particular, the Judiciary appears to have been particularly targeted during the two terms of the Kibaki Administration. Kenyans still remember quite vividly the ruthlessness with which the so-called ‘radical surgery’ was visited upon serving members of the Judiciary at the onset of the first Kibaki Administration. In conformity with the saying that ‘What’s good for the goose is also good for the gander’, both Parliament and the Executive must also be ready to submit to the same regime of vetting and screening required of aspirants for public offices. In conclusion, it must be stated that it is immoral and unfair and therefore totally unacceptable for Parliament and the Executive to raise the bar of Leadership, Ethics and Integrity so high for members of the Judiciary and aspirants for other public offices only to lower it to the levels we now see in the diluted Bill on Chapter Six when it comes down to themselves. Could it be a case of ‘poetic justice’ that now, by a twist of fate, the Judiciary stands on the moral high- ground to ensure aspirants for Parliamentary and Executive positions are vetted and screened as required by Chapter Six of the Constitution and related legislations touching on leadership and Integrity?Malkia,
The particularly dangerous thing in my view is that this case may have the unintended consequence of bringing together people who are currently foes, because any presidential candidate with alleged integrity issues (especially corruption and political violence allegations) will work jointly with Uhuru and Ruto to ensure the dilution of Chapter 6 and Leadership and Integrity Bill, whether they are enjoined in this case or not.

Oh my God,
I did not know it was that bad already! Now what Malkia poses is what we need to be prepared for. Mixing that with what job has illustrated as the main reason for Wamalwa's historical role we have exciting times ahead. Teacher tells us that 'the individual has to learn , to understand and transform reality'. Reporter,These are the biggest challenges facing our nation - serious ongoing activities and threats against our brand new Katiba. These anti-reformers are even trying to use the vitriol from Miguna to disabuse the obvious notion that the next election is going to be a choice between electing a reformer as President, or a non-reformer. They don't want it framed under such terms for obvious reasons. Meanwhile, they're ginning up propaganda to paint everyone as dirty...to confuse and cloud the voters' eyes.
Teacher cautions us 'some people believe themselves to be leaders and go to the masses to establish a dialogue with them.' Kitendawili.....tenga is for RAO; Yule jamaa wa vitendawili is for Ruto. Now we need to remember 'it is their own interests and not the interests of the community that are pursued. They encourage people to adapt to a new way a life without attending to their historical demands'. The foregoing shuts out Uhuruto who 'fall into the naive thinking that one should adapt to existing conditions, rather than construct the new and appropriate conditions required by critical thought - the kind of thought that builds spaces and opportunities for liberation and the overturning of oppression through conscious action'. Where RAO does not fit the bill either is 'the liberation of man and the overcoming of oppression are not achieved by consumption of the existing ideas that teem and circulate between people. Instead, the individual needs to construct his own ideas and above all transfrom them through praxis and horizontal communication'. We have the Constitution (an excellent social contract) and the Vision 2030 (an economic blueprint). Both if implemented provide a reforming nature to our people and hence the best leaders are those with plans (manifestos) on who, how, when, where etc. they will be part of the solution to implementing the Constitution and Vision 2030. www.nation.co.ke/oped/Opinion/Aspirants+should+tell+us+how+they+will+grow+economy++/-/440808/1424136/-/item/1/-/waxlusz/-/index.htmlI have heard it said we should vote for the devil we know than the angel you do not. spectators always have wise counsel.. Prof Podp,Just like in term paper, thesis, dissertation etc etc, we provide our sources on this board just so that all are on the same page! So, what is that up there? Some latest hot gossip from downtown River Road? Uh? www.the-star.co.ke/national/national/89246-uncertainty-over-odm-reloadedOne of Prime Minister Raila Odinga's campaign teams, ODM Reloaded, is facing uncertainty with fears it may have been disbanded. Several sources in the Orange party indicate that Raila may have caved to pressure from his wife Ida to disband the team, after tension emerged between Reloaded and Ida's Sibandunki lobby. According to the sources, Reloaded has been replaced by ODM Mashinani. "When the party Parliamentary Group met last, it announced the formation of ODM Mashinani. Unknown to many this was a polite way of disbanding the Reloaded team," a senior ODM member said. A member of the Reloaded team also further claimed that Orange House and the presidential campaign secretariat have not been facilitating the team's programmes as they had been doing before, saying this was proof it has been wound up. The Reloaded brigade comprises MPs Margaret Wanjiru, Ababu Namwamba, Rachel Shebesh, Manson Nyamweya, Millie Odhiambo, Hassan Joho, Josephat Nanok, Joyce Laboso, Magerer Lang’at and John Mbadi. Some members of the team, especially women MPs, claim Ida is seeking to control Raila's campaign machinery after a group of women allied to her won the disputed ODM women league elections last month. Ida has since refuted this claim. Yesterday Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign secretariat director of communications Barack Muluka denied that Reloaded has been disbanded. "You should treat this report as rumours. Whoever is giving you this should be ready to be quoted," Muluka added. He also denied that there was a rift between Ida and some members of Reloaded, saying that Ida was only interested in promoting her Sibanduki lobby, which is supplementing campaigns for Raila. "Ida is not interested in any campaign strategy except her Sibanduki initiative. Through Sibanduki, Ida will perform campaign duties that can only be done by a spouse," Muluka added. The last time Reloaded team was engaged in a campaign activity was last month when they attended the homecoming party of EALA MP Judy Pareno in Mashuru, Kajiado Central. Since then, the team has been dormant leading to speculation. Reloaded even missed last week's trip by Raila to Nyandarua and Laikipia counties. The group has normally been preceding the PM on his tours across the county with road shows a day or two before Raila's trip. "We have retreated for strategic reasons and you shall see us back soon," Muluka said of Reloaded. However, he declined to reveal the next campaign activity for the MPs' team. Ida does not have a formal role in the PM's presidential campaign team but according to Miguna Miguna in his book, Peeling Back the Mask, she is the most powerful of the Raila's advisers. ODM supporters fear that should these turf wars among the various campaign lobby groups escalate, Raila's campaign will be hurt.

Huyo mzungu ametoa wapi huyu shamba? hate speech bwana, some of us reside in mzungu land own property and it would be sad if we were asked the same question by lazy locals it is a question of justice in courts not mob justice on streets. why don't you help the old man appeal in our courts if you are that fond of him. and while at it remember Kenyatta family owns the size of old Nyanza or is it Western province while we all know old Jomo used to sleep on streets before relocating to Europe and only acquired land when he became PORK. after going to school we know arithmetic and his life salary would not have bought what the family now has the same can be said of Kibaki. there is an old picture of him with a long short with no kaptula so where did he get chums to acquire all the land he has now and we will also come to RAO and Ruto who can now mount campaigns to be PORK when not a generation ago they did not have land worthy mentioning but now we have seen them claiming land in all counties so hate speech on wazungu upunguze or when Mwakwere-red you may suffer heart attack

David Matsanga and Tony Gachoka are basically fraudsters who know how to cash-in on other peoples' misfortunes - pretending they could be of valuable help. They can play to the public gallery; ginning up intense feelings from supporters of the accused. They expect fat cheques in return - from the accused. I'm sure Uhuru's lawyers would advise him to keep an arms-length distance from these types - one already in legal conundrum.
It's instructive to note that Matsanga's earlier and similar antics have already been hampered by an active ICC investigation; for witness tampering. Matsanga may soon be shitting bricks. He has effectively passed the propaganda baton to the next willing fraudster - Tony Gachoka. These hyped political allegations may excite gullible simpletons already singing in the BOSS's choir...but remain of nuisance value to the actual case. Gachoka's antics are inconsequential to the case.
www.standardmedia.co.ke/?articleID=2000063724&story_title=Miguna-and-Gachoka:-Heroes,-villains-or-both? Miguna and Gachoka: Heroes, villains or both? Miguna Miguna, former advisor to Prime Minister Raila Odinga while launching his book, Peeling Back the Mask, recently dropped a bombshell when he claimed that he has incriminating evidence that could send many politicians to The Hague. Before we could say Jack Robinson, Miguna was gone to Canada and in came Tony Gachoka, guns blazing. Another ‘former’ in the PM’s office, who claims to have crucial information that might interest ICC. Miguna and Gachoka are well educated, and knowledgeable opinion leaders. That’s why they, and not Wanjiku, found their way into the PM’s office. Atrocity The 2007 PEV was the worst atrocity ever witnessed on our soil since independence. Why has it taken these Kenyans this long to make their revelations? And why do they find it appropriate to reveal this information now? Are we supposed to view them as heroes, villains or both? For ‘sleeping’ on such crucial evidence, if indeed they have it, they can only be villainous heroes or heroic villains. Sad.

Politics is very dynamic in Kenya and full of opportunists. But a good politician is also a good tactician, and will move fast to take advantage of an emerging opportunity to further their political goals. And there is the opportunity for the likes of Tunjuu and the like. If you can't be the King, you can be the King maker! Would you hate to be made King if you can still keep hold of your political agenda? www.standardmedia.co.ke/?articleID=2000063939&story_title=Judiciary-is-final-barrier-against-impunityFor now it appears that things are headed this way, at least on the political front, and with the General Election approaching. Members of Parliament, with the help of the State Law Office have ensured that the Bill on integrity is watered down to the bone, rendering it almost useless. How did we get here. It is a journey that began with the sham of a General Election in 2007 in which most of those now in Government benefited from incompetence by the then Electoral Commission of Kenya which allowed various forms of rigging to take place right under its nose. Having been elected to Parliament, their sole goal has been to benefit from the old corruption networks and use them to stay in power. www.nation.co.ke/oped/Opinion/-/440808/440808/-/3jx0lg/-/index.htmlLiberals often advocate for activism because they partly believe the law must be used to advance social ends, especially in favour of the vulnerable in society. That brings me back to our situation. At the outset, it is critical to understand that our Constitution is different from the western liberal model that is minimalist because it largely preoccupies itself with assigning and checking power among state organs.

MP wants IEBC to speak up on diaspora vote www.nation.co.ke/News/politics/MP+wants+IEBC+to+speak+up+on+diaspora+vote/-/1064/1478174/-/rf5ag8/-/index.htmlAn MP now wants the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to assure Kenyans in diaspora that they will cast their vote in the next General Election. The MP said that the developments on Biometric Voter Registration saga does not guarantee electronic voting. Addressing a news conference in Nairobi’s Parliament buildings on Monday, Mr John Mututho (Naivasha) said there were high-profile individuals keen to retain power and who were out to frustrate the automation of the electoral process. “These people in power should stop cheating the Kenyans in diaspora that they will vote in the next elections. Let us tell them the truth; they will not vote. The BVR as envisaged by the IEBC does not necessarily mean an electronic election. Let’s tell them that they will not vote because someone is planning to steal the election,” said Mr Mututho. The MP also criticized the government-to-government deal struck last week to procure the BVR equipment. He said it is wrong for the executive to borrow money to run the key poll component, when Parliament had approved Sh17.5 billion for the IEBC. “The decision by this government to borrow USD 55 million for the BVR kits, is an admission that we’re either too careless or too broke to carry out our own elections. This is very embarrassing to Kenyans,” said the Naivasha MP. Mr Mututho added that “when governments engage in business” then they ought to be subjected to the same tendering process. The MP took the view that it was wrong for the Canadian government to give Kenya conditions on how the procurement should be done. He said that the Canadian firm picked to do the job was “bankrupt”. “Let the government keep the likes of Canada out of this because their agenda is not clear. Do not bring us a company that is winding up, to register our voters. Why would we want our bio-data out there with a foreign company that we do not know what it is going to do with it?,” posed Mr Mututho. The MP said the Chief Executive of the IEBC, Mr James Oswago, ought to relook at the procurement, and get a consortium of Kenyan companies to do the job. He said the Canadian firm Code Inc, did not have the financial muscle to do the job. The Canadian firms have formed consortiums to handle the BVR procurement. The first consortium involves Code Inc, whose ownership is still in question, and Face Technology of South Africa, which was the third lowest bidder, before IEBC cancelled the tender on July 23. The second consortium brings together Cross Match Technologies of Canada, Smartmatic of UK, and Dermalog of Germany. Boardroom wars pitting the commission against the secretariat had prevented the IEBC from awarding the tender to Symphony, the second lowest bidder after 4G Identity of India was disqualified.

More from the Toboa Ukweli folks: More on the Rot in the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Project By the Toboa Ukweli teamThe mismanagement of the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Project, with the controversial George Ochilo Ayako at the helm as the Executive Chairman threatens to scuttle the international goodwill that Kenya has enjoyed from such key partners as the International Atomic Energy Agency. By banishing David Otwoma, the nuclear scientist seconded by the Public Service Commission to serve as Secretary to the Nuclear Electricity Project’s board, Mr. Ayako has effectively undermined the credibility of the KNEP in its attempts at resource mobilization. Below is an excerpt from an email dispatched from the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency to officials of the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Project now working without the valuable and critical technical input from Mr. Otwoma: From: x.xxxxxx [mailtox.xxxxxx@iaea.org] Sent: 22 June 2012 04:28 To: Boniface Kinyanjui; Winnie Ndubai
Subject: Concept for 2014-2015
Boniface&Winnie,
This is to inform you that what you presented as a concept for 2014/2015 cycle could not measure up of what is expected. There is now a window for you to rework on your conceptand submit the same by next week otherwise there will be nothing for Nuclear power. It maybe worth while to consider consulting David Otwoma as he is familiar on what is expected and has been a valuable local and international expert nuclear project formulations.
What was event from what you presented is that you did not understand how to link your current project with the next. In other words you are not sure what do to next after this project!!
Please urgently revert back to me if you are determined to do so. x.xxxxxxx
And in a veiled reference to the continued marginalization of David Otwoma the same official sent the following email:
From: x.xxxxxx <x.xxxxxxi@iaea.org> Date: Thu, May 31, 2012 at 4:05 PM Subject: RE: Concept for 2014-15 cycle: KEN2005 To: bwwekesa@xxx.xx Cc: bkkinyanjui@xxxx.xxx To: Boniface Wekesa Wanyama P.O. BOX 30623-00100, National Council for Science and Technology, NAIROBI,Kenya.
Please if possible advise the formulators of the next CPN on Nuclear Energy accordingly as per our excellent discussions. We will be in Kenya and will welcome more deliberations with all, especially the Kenyan experts who are highly regarded here but unfortunately you ar under utilizing them. Best regards, x.xxxxxx
Our sources inform us that absence of Mr. Otwoma from the day to day running of the Nuclear Electricity Project seems to have had a negative financial and monetary impact on the activities of the project. Of the allocated 200 Million last financial year (July 2011 to June 2012) a whopping 50 Million Kenya Shillings was taken back by Treasury presumably because the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Project was unable to utilize this amount that had already been budgeted for before it was allocated. As you can see from the attached Excel file, more than half of the funds allocated for travel and training was spent by the Executive Chairman, raising audit concerns as these disbursements were not per the performance contract signed by the Secretary. Mr. Otwoma’s focus in requesting the money for travel and training was to have young, technical competent Kenyans with professional aspirations benefit from such support with the projected goal that after ten years it is this generation of Kenyans who would be in charge when the country was on the cusp of rolling out its nuclear program for peaceful economic activities. Other related audit queries had to do with the large expenditure used to pay the 13 Committee Members when they purported to meet (with some of these meetings totally outside the mandate of that committee). In a case of grand coalition collusion in corrupt and unethical activities, the minister for energy who is from the PNU side seems to be in cahoots with the Executive Chairman, a former cabinet minister and an insider in the ODM party. Information at our disposal indicates that the minister appears to have handpicked 12 people from his back yard, including a potential in law to be placed under questionable circumstances within the Nuclear Electricity Project. A spouse of a senior manager at a state corporation under the aegis of the same ministry is among those irregularly deployed. The wife of an assistant minister who is a close ally to the minister in question is part of that tally giving rise to questions of probity within the new constitutional dispensation. We know all these individuals by their full names and we have chosen to with hold their identities for now along with other sordid personal details not yet in the public domain. Of the 40 opportunities given to Kenyans to study for six weeks at Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University earlier this year, only 27 Kenyans eventually went as the Chairman was reported to be demanding kick backs. KIRDI coughed 1,500,000 kshs to send two people, Kenya Bureau of Standards a similar amount to send a man with his wife; Kenya Power too to sent the afore said spouse of the senior manager together with one technically competent person; Radiation Protection Board only sent one person while the officer at the other end feigned illness at last moment to keep the cash; KenGen paid but gave the Chairman to use at his discretion so he pocketed half and paid for a lady he is supposed to be very close to.He also rewarded the Human Resource Manager and the Financial manager for being obedient by letting them also go for the course even though the trip was meant for technical staff connected to nuclear electricity project. Watch this space! Stay tuned for more! www.standardmedia.co.ke/index.php?articleID=2000063953&story_title=Editorial-Cartoon-13.08.2012so we can replace NOCK with Kenya Nuclear Electricity Project on the cartoon 'Pondium of Shame'

What is increasingly leaving me disturbed is the total inability of the IEBC to exercise their constitutionally mandated independent authority (Chapter 15). Is there a leadership vacuum? They should have called for this meeting in the first place and the press release of should have been from IEBC. Exactly what is going on here? www.the-star.co.ke/national/corridors-of-power/89128-corridors-of-powerA member of a constitutional commission which has been in the limelight lately is said to have purchased prime land worth Sh25 million from a charitable organisation. This has raised eyebrows as the man, who seems to have become a multi-millionaire almost overnight, is said to have paid the entire amount at once, leaving even the seller baffled at his source of funds.

spectators always have wise counsel.. Let us suppose the above is gospel truth. Here is something that started an hour ago alread has 20+ counsel. So which one is wise? My pick is in red 1.Just got a confirmation from an MP and member of ODM Reloaded. Things are not good as Ida Odinga elbows everybody out. Ida Odinga is trying to control Raila Campaign Secretariat especially the finances. Few are happy with most of her moves. Keem David huyo mama anataka kuharibia jakom kura ! awe mpole... Eric Akanga c u also knw she(idda)..is envious of Shebesh..u knw y??..(squeexes)..if u knw wat i mean..heheGovernor Doddie Van Soddie Ida Odinga is going to be Jakom's downfall. Raila should control his wife. Gichuru Davids She has gone through lots of problems and she doesn,t want any thing go wrong, her keeping finances in check is not wrong, she has done it b4.campaigns are not a joke Charles Otieno Akudo Washing Dirty linen in public gives the like of Itumbi Dennis ammunition? Adede Owalla If u fail to control & manage ua wife, then she will succeed in managing u..shida si ya Idda,ni ya baba..... Herbert Dola Managing finances closely with the secretariat may not be a bad thing considering that during campaigns, people are bent to misappropriate. But if it is a question of strategy that she is interfering with then that would be worrying. Wangunungu Dennis Such happenings brings credence to migunas assertion.Dann Adika Not strange as a campaign secretariat requires persons you can really trust: not every Miguna, Gachoka et al. Nabwera Nabii To all of you i want to share something you may not know. The battle in ODM is between people who want the party to reform and a select Mps who want preferential treatment. They fronted candidates in the youth and women league and were defeated. Ida is an excuse. As for Reloaded they are costing the Party and Raila support. The ODM party machinery to the sublocation have little room for them as they were using ODM reloaded to want to grab party national leadership for themselves. Ida is a scapegoat. It is about people mentioning themselves. We are seeing some pple using the unorthodox means like the one Mbeki and team used to edge out Winnie 1 Raila's handlers are not allowing for open communications channels. Sisi tutasema tu. Otiebo Joel ODM MASHINANI Nani napinga jamaneni Emmanuel Waswa She is practising exactly what she will be doing in state house, Martha Tsisika ida is doing what a woman in state house should do and so just give her time Paul Mwangi Ida is the only presidentials candidates wife behaving as if winning the seat would be a family affair or family property. podp, I don't think it is the quantity of parties that would have convinced the G7 of Tuju's 'ability' to marshall support. We were in the same scenario in 2003, this was cunningly used by the then NAK to shortchange the then LDP. They stated that NAK was an alliance of 15 parties while LDP was just 1 party and therefore it would be unfair to share the positions on a 50-50 basis. We all knew that of the 15 parties, only DP, Ford-K & NPK had grassroots support of any sort. In addition to that only 1 other party among the remaining 12 had a parliamentary seat of any kind. The rest were just hot air. Coming to the POA alliance, one will easily note that only SDP and POA can attempt to have a presence countrywide. The rest of the parties don't have the capacity and will be easily obliterated by the constitution once it comes into full effect. So, mseto wa hoja may have been used as a bargaining chip but anyone with an iota of political intelligence will not fall for it. It is difficult to see how Tuju was going to sit comfortably in a formation that was socialistic in its basic principles while the guy is an opportunistic capitalist (an ill informed one though). Isn't he the guy who was extolling the virtues of industrialisation using his example of a biro manufacturing company as opposed to an agriculture driven economy? Isn't he the same dude who was flaunting his wealth when he had an interview at his house. In an interview that could have been successfully conducted in one room, he managed to take us to almost all the rooms in his house including his well manicured garden ( I wonder how that display sat with the marxists). Koigi is a well known political conman....I'll leave him at that. In short, the alliance was dead on arrival. It adequately illustrates that you cannot create an alliance that is a mixture of principle and opportunism. Principle will always give way as we are seeing here. Thank you Luol Deng for the history of alliances in our post Mo1 era. Going back to teacher; he taught me 'the subject should build his reality from circumstances that give rise to the daily events of his life'. That should have informed SDP to be part of an effort to reform Kenya and to make us all conform to SDPs historical demands. By joining a conformist whose stance considers the present Kenya's situation normal even to the point of supporting a known opportunist was exposing SDP to individuals who construct their own reality and when they manage to liberate themselves (in Kenya's context read attain power) they only can go to the opposite extreme and become the antithesis of what they were fighting against (remember Kibaki swearing 'zero tolerance for corruption' and lately RAO with his nusu mkate inviting Kanu orphans to the table and family members as Miguna says). On that note SDP need to think and reflect before going about creating themselves from inside out!

Hehe, we told you so. But you refused to listen and dismissed our wise counsel with harsh words. spectators always have wise counsel.. The bottom-line - SDP has not exited from the Hoja alliance. That may remain the case so long as scheduled Hoja Oversight Committee meetings keep being postponed. Until any exit, I’ll withhold my other thoughts and count the numbered-days! But it’s instructive that Oloo, Hoja’s listed Secretariat’s Coordinator, was confronted with the statement: “We all know who our COMMON ENEMY is. It is ODM.” [/blockquote] Isn’t it confounding that an Issue-based (Hoja) alliance had its Secretariat Coordinator ambushed with the revelation above – deep in the game, long after launch? An anti-ODM (read G-7 tribal) alliance disguised as an issue-based alliance? With SDP at its frontline without knowing? Baffling and perplexing!
She is desperate than her man to have a foot in statehouse. Poor woman she ought to know wives of big people behave the opposite of their men.

Like KICC was easily dislodged from KANU, Moi will likely lose a lot of his grabs. I suspect some of the loss may be strategically delayed...may be easier to pry off the hands of his already besieged off-springs. did we hear Kenyatta family has land the size of Western or is it former Nyanza Province? then the Mo1 family and if Mudavadi does not become PORK what of Kibaki's? the hens are really coming home to roost

OO, Listening to NTV discussions this morning the actvisit and Martin Oloo said this to the presenter. What we are seeing in G7 is everyone, say POA (New Ford Kenya) leader(s) who knows very well he (they) will not stand for Presidency, cunningly conning the likes of you (SDP) so that they can go and meet G7 heavy weights and tell them 'See I have so many followers'. It is like during Mo1 days when delegations to Kabarak, Kibera, Statehouse etc. were done by individuals who wanted to be Ministers, parastatal heads etc. used to do. So in short POA leader got all the 9 parties you are talking about in Hoja Alliance. He rushed to G7 and told them this is what I am bringing on the table. Going forward why don't you take this down? www.nation.co.ke/oped/Opinion/Aspirants+should+tell+us+how+they+will+grow+economy++/-/440808/1424136/-/mg8yhjz/-/index.htmlWhat we should be hearing from those who want to lead Kenya and its 47 counties should be about education and training programmes that will equip Kenya’s youth for jobs and the spirit of creating jobs; economic plans that will create wealth and therefore jobs; and blueprints for attracting local and foreign investments in specific areas. .... This will happen when, one, the politics shifts from discussing personalities to discussing their programmes and ideas. Things will change when, two, politicians change their attitudes towards political parties. Parties stand for — and stand up for — something.

This may not be the most appropriate thread but it's addresses to Miguna, so I thought I'd post my comment here. I just finished reading your book, and it is a fantastic, read. It is extremely well written, if at times verbose, and I am very grateful that you took the time and effort to write about your experiences. (I am actually hosting a book club dinner later this month with friends who've read it so we can discuss the book, not what people are saying about the book, and the invitation list is growing faster than I would have expected). In my view, the real gift of this book isn't in the depiction of Raila Odinga, it is in the exposition of the Kenyan political system and it's cast of characters (the usual suspects). It is a worthwhile read for anyone advising a political candidate, at whatever level, aspiring political strategists and political commentators and thinkers. This book is not recommended for sycophants or anyone who cannot hold an independent opinion. It is an important read for anyone who believes in, or seeks to, change this country and system from within, and it is also, in my view a warning about the very real possibilities of revolution, for when a political system cannot accommodate or tolerate significant detractors or persistent dissent, it leaves those sympathetic with the detractors no choice but to seek to destroy the system. I have greatly enjoyed reading this book, and while I do not believe everything in it, it has helped me understand some of the difficulties well intentioned political neophytes or political idealists (not implying Miguna is either) face when they try to change the system. Again, thank you, it was clearly not an easy decision and one that came at a significant cost to you, but I think all students of the Kenyan political system esecially the younger generation, if they permit themselves, can learn from your experience. thank you malkia. job, jeff are among those who have given their thoughts after reading. it is very good for those who support RAO to read and re-read while those who have no time for RAO can just read it. the worst is to yap and have not read it

Please record this things carefully. They form a body of evidence which we will use later to close our cases of summary executions in the blink of an eye --Said a french Jacobin as he heard of the latest episode of corruption in the aristocratic class. www.the-star.co.ke/local/northeastern/89144-mp-ngilu-to-block-mui-miningWater minister Charity Kaluki Ngilu and Mutitu MP Kiema Kilonzo have received public approval from Mui Coal Basin residents to block a Chinese company from mining the mineral. During a whirlwind tour of the coal belt on Thursday, the duo addressed meetings at Karung’a, Mathuki, Mui, Miambani, Mutitu and Sombe markets. By a show of hands the residents gave them the go ahead to use all means including court action to block the coal mining unless locals get a 50-50 share of the accrued benefits with the investors. The two leaders have constantly shown open reservations over the awarding of the mining concession in Blocks C and D on the Mui basin. They said that their fears had been vindicated after it emerged that China’s Fenxi Industry Mining Company is fronted by powerful individuals. Although the meeting at Mui was interrupted by youths with occasional shouts of the Wiper Democratic Party slogans, those in attendance generally gave the duothe backing to block Fenxi from mining the coal. Security officers in two vehicles, led by the Mwingi police chief, Simon Birir trailed Ngilu and Kiema’s convoy to forestall any possible clash between the Ngilu team and the Wiper backers who were also on tow. Ngilu dismissed the aggressors as hopeless hirelings of Mwingi south MP David Musila. “The wealth of Kitui is the property of the Kitui people and woe to all those out to take advantage and disenfranchise the locals. Not an inch of the Kamba soil that contains the coal will go to anybody before it is properly negotiated. That will not happen under our watch,” ,” Ngilu said. Kilonzo said due diligence was not followed in awarding the concession.

Should we not save the resources for ourselves. When we start looking for energy and are not able to do with solar energy we shall end up creating coal powered stations, if we let our coal go already then we are in big trouble as we shall be paying an importation price for it. T he above is by a commentor at www.businessdailyafrica.com/Corporate+News/Man+behind+Chinese+firm+in+Sh3+4tr+Mui+coal+mines+/-/539550/1475750/-/9s84nyz/-/index.htmlMan behind Chinese firm in Sh3.4tr Mui coal mines When George Kariithi, a millionaire businessman, first got wind that the government had intentions of leasing out the multi-billion-shilling Mui Coal fields two years ago, he instantly sensed a lucrative business opportunity. It struck him that he could use his close connections with two Chinese friends and mining executives to bag the lucrative contract and he quickly arranged for a flight to China to meet Li Yuxin and Yang Wusheng. As an experienced hand in natural resources exploration, Mr Kariithi knew that his Chinese friends had at their disposal the technical expertise and financial muscle needed to win the lucrative tender. Using his company, Great Lakes Corporation, which he co-owns with a New Zealand national, Ian See, Mr Kariithi formed a consortium with Mr Yuxin and Mr Yusheng, the Fenxi Mining Industry Group. On August 24 last year, Mr Kariithi and his Chinese partners received communication from the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy, Patrick Nyoike, informing them that their consortium had won the concession to mine coal in the Mui basin’s blocks C and D. The two blocks are thought to have more than 400 million tonnes of coal reserves valued at Sh3.4 trillion ($40 billion), according to the Ministry of Energy estimates. Mr Kariithi, 58, a trained pharmacist and one of the lesser known Kenyan business magnates, had won one of the most hotly contested and lucrative Kenya government tenders ever, but controversy was soon to follow award of the contract. When the Business Daily caught up with him, he was preparing to leave for China to meet his business partners. He was concerned that negative publicity on the tendering process was “distracting people from the bigger picture,” and feared that the controversy would delay the start of the mining process and hold back economic benefits the local community and the country would derive from it. “We won the tender in an open process, and I’m willing to answer, as I should, all the questions that are arising, we have nothing to hide,” said Mr Kariithi. For history see also www.businessdailyafrica.com/Ministry+invites+firms+to+explore+more+coal+blocks+/-/539546/1426860/-/auar7h/-/index.html“The purpose of this exploration is to establish coal potential and delineate more coal blocks for concessioning,” the ministry said. These resources are expected to provide up to 2,400MW of electricity by 2030 as per the Least Cost Power Development Plan (LCPDP) 2011/2031. For history see also www.businessdailyafrica.com/Pre+qualified+firms+to+tender+for+coal+power+projects/-/539552/1204826/-/vifnf2z/-/index.htmlAt $0.0954 (Sh8.59) per kilowatt hour, coal is the fourth cheapest source of power after geothermal $0.084 (Sh7.56), nuclear $0.0684 (Sh6.16) and hydro $0.0383 kwh (Sh3.45 per kilowatthour. Wind costs 12 US cents (Sh10.8) per kilowatthour.

To those arguing here that Jukwaa is an ODM or pro-Raila forum. You could not be more mistaken. This forum is full of the anti-Raila crowd: Miguna, Oloo, Destiny (btw dear destiny, you said you do know me: do you now?), Kebaara, Mwalimumkuu, Kamale, Podp, Jakaswanga, b6k etc. I tell you, they are a dime a dozen, these Jukwaa Railaphobics. One thing for sure, Jukwaa is definitely NOT a pro-Raila forum! In addition to the anti-Raila, there are Railamaniacs like yours truly. Then there is a thin strip in-between where some people claim independence from Raila. However, these unprincipled Kalonzo-like characters are really very watery ‘watermelons’. Like the nondescript church of Laodicea, they neither blow hot nor cold. For the record, my favorite Railaphobics are the ones that wear their phobia proudly on their sleeves. Not the worms that crawl out of the woodwork every now and then dripping with all the hypocrisy they can muster. What stops us raising this discourse, on who will be the next PORK, to issue-level. 1. In a sentence, what is your candidate's articulated vision for the country? (It must be one the candidate has been articulating.) 2. What precise plan does your candidate have for tackling corruption and impunity, being key challenges in Kenya's fragile democracy (including cases where the candidate is implicated)? 3. How does your candidate plan to eradicate Kenya's beneath-human-dignity poverty where 46% earn less than a dollar a day, bearing in mind the current 40% unemployment rate, with ? And while at the above hope you read OOs piece although long.

rr, the BD version and my own intepretation of the colloquium, or the causal and visual representations, are "complementary" to each other. That is, they are mutually exclusive, yet jointly essential for a complete description of the events. Being neither a full nor an empty we can disagree or agree that notion of the observer becoming a part of the observed system is fundamentally new at Jukwaa and only Peeling Back the Mask short of the violence of 2007/08 has brought that shaply in focus. As an aside in science the observer is no longer external and neutral, but through the act of measurement s/he becomes her/himself a part of observed reality. So I will encourage you to take more salt. What is an 'average student' at university? All have above average IQs and hence would like to correct you unless you are talking of normal distribution which again you need to provide your measurement criteria. rr do not yap yap when among Profs

birds of a feather.... www.mwakilishi.com/content/articles/2012/08/08/raila-odinga-nairobi-planning-to-bid-for-2024-olympics.htmlRaila Odinga: Nairobi Planning to Bid for 2024 Olympics By Mwakilishi | Wed, 08/08/2012 03:46PM -0400 . Kenya's capital Nairobi is planning to bid for the 2024 Olympics and become the first African city to host the Games, the prime minister said on Wednesday. "Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, speaking at the Kenya National House today, announced that the Republic of Kenya will be starting the process of pitching to host the Games of the 33rd Olympiad in 2024," a Kenya House announcement said. "If successful, these Games will be the first ever held in Africa." The International Olympic Committee will elect the 2024 host city in 2017, with official campaigning to start two years earlier. There have been African bids in the past, most recently with Egypt's Cairo unsuccessfully bidding for the 2008 Olympics that were awarded to Beijing. South Africa's Cape Town had also bid for the 2004 Games, staged by Athens. The country did, however, host the 2010 soccer World Cup, the first to be held on the African continent. The 2016 Olympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro - the first in South America - while Tokyo, Madrid and Istanbul are bidding for the 2020 Games, with a decision to be taken next year.

einstein, in red above you wanted an objective analysis Just so that we are on the same page as regards philosophy. Let me psychoanalyze you for fun. Just to humor myself. My conclusion as I humor myself for the new week is 'denial does not represent liberation for those concerned, but rather a flight from reality'. Have a safe flight. Podp,To be honest, I do not get you at all. In your post above, are you psychoanalysing me or are you 'philosoanalysing' me? Which one are you belabouring? May be your wordings ain't right and hence the reason I cannot catch your drift. Do you want to give your analysis of me again, but using other words? And while at it, please decide whether it is a psycho or philoso analysis! Just to humor myself.

That was hilarious. But then, one would want to ask, why would a whole Prime Minister of the republic, the one Kenyans have entrusted with the custody of the country's resources, go bathing in a river with his cloths on the shore (euphemism for conniving with his aids to plunder the country's resources and suffocate the government with his relatives and clans' men)?Is it the fact that (as he confirms with his kitendawili) he has been found naked and wanting that he has ashamedly decided not to answer to Miguna's charges? My Tanzanian colleague who listened to the whole clip and did not know of MM, Tony Gachoka etc type of fellas in PM's life also had a hearty laugh
