Jukwaa, Let us do a one-stop blow-by-blow for the O-6 on 7-8 as the events unfold. Already Tinderet MP Henry Kosgey (George Odinga Oraro as lead Counsel with Julius Kemboy and son Allan Kosgey as the Legal Assistants), Eldoret North MP William Ruto (Kioko Kilukumi as lead Counsel, Katwa Kigen as Associate Counsel and Kithure Kindiki) and Radio personality Joshua Sang (Katwa Kigen as lead Counsel, Kimutai Bosek as Legal Assistant and Kiptum Koech as Case Manager) and Maj-Gen Hussein Ali (Lawyers Evans Monari has lead Counsel, Gershom Otachi as Associate Counsel and Gregory Kehoe) are already at the Hague. Finance Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, he who has been yapping about the PM's call for foreign, unbiased lawyers to mid-wife Kenya through the transition to the new order has an all-foreign retinue of Steven Kay as lead counsel, Gillian Higgins as Associate Counsel and Benjamin Joyes as Case Manager. Talk of Nyani haoni kundule! Head of Public service Francis Muthaura has retained Karim Ahmad Khan as lead Counsel, Kennedy Ogeto as Associate Counsel and Muriuki Mugambi. The drama of that arrival was evident with the arrival of a number of MPs accompanying the first batch of suspects. Let us keep it Jukwaa for updates. The media section of the ICC shall offer live video feeds of the appearance of the suspects. Catch up with the video through Youtube channel. www.youtube.com/IntlCriminalCourt

To begin with, Uhuru has been consistent that the Hague is a Mzungu court and true to his believe, he went for their own. I do not see any contradiction in that. Secondly, I asked earlier in the other thread for evidence of the said freezing of assests and more than 24hrs later Jukwaa is still waiting despite being promised that the information can be availed in a split second upon prompts. Instead, you come here and repeat the same KANU/ODM line as propagated by the standard.

Kisha najua kwa fujo zao za kijinga usishangae kusikia labda wawili watatu hivi wametiwa mbaroni 'for breaking the peace'... ;D Kweli Kenya tuna kazi kubwa. Ifikapo 2012 Mungu tu ndiye ajuae tutaishia wapi. Astaghafirulahi!!!

OCAMPO SEEKS more stringent conditions against ICC suspects, including gag order, bond, wealth statement and monthly reports on whereabouts. Heard it too - from the civil society grapevine- that Ocampo has filed for a restrictive (public gag) application to the Judges - to protect the interest of potential witnesses now fearing for the safety of their entire families. The ethnic mobilization and mass incitement rallies of the past 2 weeks by Uhuru and Ruto, have effectively served as the most potent and direct threats and intimidation to the witnesses and their families. Following the rallies, families of potential witnesses have received threats for 'betraying' the community - some even veiled through vernacular call-in radio shows. How in the world, these families were traced (pin-pointed) for the mass warnings is anybody's guess. What is clear is that the State-facilitated rallies by Uhuru and Ruto have intimidated witnesses and Ocampo wants fresh restrictive orders appended on the summonses or warrants applied mara moja!In other words (analogically), the best way to protect a witness in a village (set to testify against a village murderer) - is to deny the suspected murderer public platform in the village baraza, through which to convey coded and veiled threats to the potential witness. Such suspects need to be denied the right to step up a public platform to incite opinion against justice (which indirectly and directly suppreses witness participation in the cases). Let's wait and see! Or could we be set for drama - Judges being convinced the mass rallies have essentially violated earlier terms of summonses ( specifically on not intimidating witnesses)....thus calling for arrest warrants and detention.

I request the civil society lawyers - in their submision for the yet-to-be-convened admissibility challenge hearing - to catalogue to the ICC Judges, the rolling wheels of impunity, that intimidate and threaten potential witnesses through mass tribal rallies.
Even before Ocampo's ink requesting tougher conditions has not dried, the suspects have unveiled a new public platform at Uhuru park on Sunday, where the coded and veiled sabre-rattling and intimidation of witnesses continues. Aren't some of these suspects (save for Ali and Kosgey) openly courting arrest warrants?

Drama! if the new conditions are agreed to then every six months we will be treated to national weeping and 2 weeks of cross country prayer meetings, preceding the departure and followed thereafter by a jubilation sunday on their return if nothing else, we have big business for prayer houses. i suggest 6 O' (clock) reserved for prayers for O'6 and every hour in between reserved for prayers for the real and traumatised, recovering and still very much disturbed and unsettled victims and survivors of the PEV we can only hope that they can all finally be settled and re-integrated into the communities where they end up to once again lead normal lives the best they can. and as far away from the daily politics

....national weeping, ethnic mobilization, cross country prayer meetings, jubilation day and the unveiling of a political party boy aren't we in for a bumpy ride. enjoy the prevailing peace and quiet before jubilation sunday. What catches my attention is not that he has requested stricter conditions on the three, but seems confident of a time frame, ie. six months. The reference to the six months anticipates a periodicy (every six months). In other words Ocampo is almost assured that the charges will sustain a process that transcends the limits pf a pre-trial phase. Now who said they should be cleared by next year lest elections are not held in Kenya? I do know that prosecutors have this cocky (apologies ladies) disposition but in this case, I wish to invest more than just a passing interest: I wish to invest a measure of assurednes that we will have a trial phase and that the charges will be confirmed (at least some)

The Hague and KTN
I watched KTN 9 o’clock news today and realise it must have been a false start for KTN to provide information from the events in The Hague to the public.
Apparently they do not like what is going on there cutting short Beatrice Marshal and treating Ocampo as a school boy – one of the few persons who had news to tell. Instead they aired some nothing from Eldoret and went in great lengths to offer years old information we all know.
Further they cut short the PM – another who had news to offer – and interlaced this with the garbage Uhuru and Ruto have poured out over the public in recent rallies. We can forget KTN to inform us about one of the most important events for Kenya.
