reporter,Miguna's outburst about the PEV during his book launch at the Intercontinental Hotel is what exposed him as a fraud and a conman out to make money by any means necessary. Even his ardent supporters were shocked by his recklessness. Predictably Miguna has avoided addressing that very important issue even as he continues to throw insults at everybody who raises even the slightest criticism about his book and bizzare behaviour. Miguna's knows he made a blunder as he got carried away with a microphone in his face. In the coming days Adongo, we shall reveal more dark secrets that Miguna did not share with you (and I doubt if he did with Oloo) while you were in Canada. And yes, they revolve around money, lots of it! You saw the way he skirted around the question of the persons who financed publication of the peeling book? Typical Miguna arrogance and false sense of superiority complex. Although I was the first to start a thread to criticize the PM's sudden unkind suspension of Miguna from office, I was equally the first to dismiss Miguna when I came to learn of his secret meetings with PNU honchos. (You know he left all that out of his peeling book). You can check this thread for refreshers!!! jukwaa.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=5759&page=1#75785Phil it is one thing to promise us dirt on Miguna - cash and sleeping with PNU honchos...but like it has been asked, why now? Why were you sitting on that information?

Honestly, isn't this Mashada stuff written by one Rough Rider? Since I know Rough Rider's real identity, I'm simply shocked to say the least that he can stoop lower than a snake's belly. And for what?
"A former schoolmate of Miguna at Onjiko insisted that Miguna was a glutton who was known for eating. He would frequently eat ‘twice’. This was the source of the nickname ‘owadgi onding’ – which, really translates as the ‘brother of the yellow maize’ because he ate the yellow relief maize in copious quantities even as other students hated it. Greedy Miguna seeks to revise his personal story by spinning this to mean he was one who never cared about what others thought, even as he ate like a hyena.
What about Miguna’s relationships? Miguna’s Marriage’s? – Why haven’t these been discussed fully? For instance - what led to the breakdown of the marriage with Tracey if Miguna is such a perfect person? Miguna spent some time at the University of Nairobi and also in detention. Can we discuss the hard truths about all that really happened in those places?"

@ genius. MM wrote HIS book and told his story. Why can't other's do the same yet no one is stopping them from writing if they wish? It's sad especially when people post anonymously here in Jukwaa with all manners of claims and porojos akin to those found in River Rd. We know most of these people and we have their job descriptions. No one spends endless hours online mud wrestling for nothing. Just came across this website www.peelingbackthemask.com/ and wondered if it's really official or could be put up by another obsessed Kenyan.

My view is that he has not said anything worse than calling people who disagree with himself dogs, groupies, miscreants and all sort of names. In any case, that is RR's opinion. You would serve Jukwaa better giving your counter opinion. Appointing yourself judge is taking it a little too far in a public board such as Jukwaa.

Kamale,Just for the record and I don't think is important, I first met and got to know Raila in 1982 when we met at Kilimani Police Station. I was then the Secretary General of SONU and we had a long chat pretty much throughout the night. I have since worked with Raila here and there in the political project to democratize our country and build a better Kenya for all. I met Miguna in Canada in or about 1989 and we have since worked together on and off for our country to make it better. I am sure we will continue to do so separately and/or collectively. It doesn't matter to me. I find your comment about "abandoning Miguna for a politician" loaded with all sorts of absurd innuendo which is very typical of you. Your wife or girlfriend may abandon you for the another dude around the block or vice versa. Giving criticisms or opinions about about other peoples' opinions or views does not amount to abandoning them. I hope that helps you clarify your thinking. I also think we should let the thread be what it as meant to be. It is certainly not about adongo ogony. Of that I am sure. Adongo So as to respect your last wish, I will reserve any comment or response I may have had about this post. Let us keep it about Miguna.....and Raila (sorry but they are inseparable)!!!

HA!!HA!! even the government tried to help him to reinstate him and what does he do? demand to report to the PM directly!! or else? ( this man he now calls useless! unfit to run the country!! e.t.c why then was Migina DEMANDING TO REPORT TO HIM DIRECTLY? Miguna was mightily offending that a junior officer send him a letter of reinstatement.. He again refused to sign a contract! Kwani yeye ni nani? even the Position of AG and PS he was vying for they too sign government contracts! upuzi mutupi!! Miguna was on Month to month contract and the government had full right to SACK him!! ivyo tuu R911 thank you for proving my point. Your video includes a clip of the illegal suspension letter which is visible at 0:45. It clearly states that while he was on suspension Miguna would not receive any salary. This is illegal. At worst he should have received half his salary; at best he should have enjoyed a soft Isahakia/Omondi type suspension receiving full salary (which was also illegal). I understand the man rubs you the wrong way, but that is no reason for the OPM to blatantly contravene the labour laws of the land. That is impunity of the highest order & must be condemned. Get it rignt.. YES SUSPENSION WITHOUT SALARY!! because he had no contract with the government, just like the Kibarua people- watu wa mikono doing construction in Kenya they are paid per hour or per day.. you can sack them anytime because most construction companies employ them per hour or per day.. Miguna is very lucky that he worked that long for the Kenya government and paid by Kenya Tax payers without a contract in place..

I keep saying that Miguna is a loose cannon. I won't be surprised if he unleashes all his correspondents with OO at some point, going by what he is threatening to do to Adongo Ogony. This is childish...

Miguna is the only person I know who reads jukwaa through Osmosis and responds accordingly. What a “genius”.
It’s rather painful to see a man fall from grace to grass so fast. It’s even more heart wrenching to see a person who until recently I thought to be smart getting drunk with rage and spinning out of control. The Big Loud Mig is in a quandary. He must have loved working for Raila and the disappointment of being thrown out disgracefully is obvious.
Taking down Raila is Miguna number one priority and he does not care if in the process he also kicks Adongo in the teeth.
Miguna has fired” a warning shot”. To all ODMers be ready to be “taken to the Hague” if you refuse to believe Migunas lies. As for Miguna friends, don’t even think of criticizing him; be a loyal supporter of his lies or else…details of your private conversations or even life might just end up in the wrong hands. Just ask Sarah Elderkin if you think I’m lying. The gun is still smoking.
Miguna must be the greatest serial liar in Kenya. The man lies like a goat and keeps on repeating the lies like a broken record player.
The book that was supposed to bring Raila down seems to be taking its author under.
Miguna is simply a joke

Didn't Judiciary already rule? Perhaps an appeal in the offing? Enigma, indeed the ruling was out in Miguna's favour last year. On December 27th Raila acknowledged the suspension was illegal & promised to ensure MM would (1) receive his backpay due to him & (2) be reinstated. The reinstatement went south & the backpay had not been paid by the time of this recording & ofcourse by the time his book came out...

Peeling the Mask, my view
I finaly finished reading “peeling back the mask.
While some have dismissed the book as a tabloid, Makau Mutua giving it a D rating, I am persuaded otherwise and now seriously question the credentials of the professor from Sunny. On what basis did he dish out a D to MM- did jealousy and hate cloud his professionalism? Yes, the book has its short comings but a D, hell no.
First let me register my frustrations with MM. I have raised some of the issues before so just for the record, I will repeat them here and be done with, he has responded to some of the issues already even though not candidly;
1. There are repetitions in the book which could have been sliced out. We understand that MM is bitter, and he readily admits to that fact- however, the repetition’s are unwarranted.
2. He labels Ngugi Wa Thiongi a turn court unfairly. Here is a man who is demanding what was rightfully his- just like MM is demanding his rights from RAO- why should that be a problem. This explains to me why MM was very careless with his choice of words when Ngugis wife was raped in Nairobi- in various web postings, MM cast aspertions on the rape allegations and declared that he seriouly doubted if those allegations were true- I wonder what that says about MM.
3. Miguna leaves out of his “memoirs” allegations of sexual assault and subsequent acquittal of the charges in Canada- in his subsequent rebuttals he argues that this is no biggie and calls people questioning why this was left out “miscreants”.
Some would argue that this was a deliberate attempt by MM to mislead readers by omission- whatever the case is, it adds credence to those who have charged that MM has attempted to portray himself as white as snow- nyeupe kama pamba – for my homies who have never seen snow. We all have weaknesses. A friend of mine avers that she is lucky her hubby is a drunk because teetotalers are the worst womanizers- I have always reminded her that I know people, especially here in Jukwaa who are both. For those who know MM and who have read his columns, it is very strange that he passes a chance to brag and rub it in (He was acquitted after all) For me this is a red flag and just like MM had his red flag moments with RAO, this one makes me question MM’s integrity and his ability (in the absence of any reasonable explanations) to stand for the truth especially when it is inconvenient to do so.
4. He outs several people he had private conversations with in the book but keeps secret the identity of a mzungu (white) ambassador who had dealings with ODM- why the double standard?- the hypocrisy is nauseating- my guess is that this is the the Dutch Ambassador and not the German Ambassador as suggested by a friend during one of those Kenyan siasa moments we had over nyam chom.
5. MM reference to Summer, Winter etc makes me wonder who his audience is. Most Kenyans don’t know what summer/winter/spring/ means- if they do it is abstract since Kenya does not experience the weather variances MM refers to.
6.According to MM, only one other person, Kasuku (Wonder whether this Kasuku has any relations with the Kasuka I have clashed with here on Jukwaa) knows what they are doing at the OPM. His secretaries, bodyguards and groupies in the PMs office are either incompetent, lazy or just running after deals- this is worrying.
7. MM in a bout of his ego- equate himself to luo and states thus….”luos have left him (RAO) in droves on account of my humiliation……..….”something to that effect- this is hilarious to say the least- even though it is not impossible for this to happen. Last time I spoke to folks in Luo Nyanza, I was told that people were pissed off because RAO was ignoring them and sending Maize in Ukambani in the hope of securing their (Kamba) vote. The mode I was reliably told was that, "wangni"- meaning this time we will vote with our heads not hearts- but this was before MM found it convenient to trash RAO.
8. MM continuously complains about RAO’s dictatorship tendencies in the book but to my horror dismisses everyone who has beef with him as incompetent clueless, nincompoop or other derogatory term. He is impatient and unwilling to listen and be taught/learn -this to me are qualities of a good leader
9. MM declares himself ideological pure-mmmmmmh- did not see that one coming
10. Finally- everyone knows the circumstances under which MM was fired. Both friends and foes condemned the manner RAO fired MM- that has never been in doubt. Indeed, “Peeling Back the Mask” is as a direct result of the humiliation meted out on MM by the PM and not very much MM’s the fact that he loves Kenya more than RAO So it is not a surprise that you can actually cut the anger /pain in MM’s tone if you wanted.
RAO knifed MM in the back, MM could do worse if you gave him the chance for solominic justice. But does the anger sort of cloud the point MM is trying to make? Is the message lost at the end of the book because of the rage and matusi MM employs in his narrative?
Supposing you gave this book to a total stranger who has no clue of the Miguna's Kenyan “situation” would they come out wondering what hit the fan? We can debate this until the cows return- but my humble opinion is that hate, bitterness and anger takes over and the message gets clowded in the dust. The “Miguna sting” is diluted and the effect is a flat high.
Having listed my issues with MM above, should we dismiss the whole book as rumours and propaganda? Does MM raise issues Kenyans should be concerned about? Absolutely-
Unfortunately the issues have been sliced as “jaruos”/Kikuyu proganda issues either on Facebook or elsewhere on the blogosphere. Indeed MM is now Njuguna Njuguna, a name he has personally applauded on K24 and therefore furthered the tribalization and trivialization of his book. Instead of telling Jeff Koinange off about the labeling, he laughed it off and encouraged it. Last time I checked, RAO was the PM of Kenya not just of the Kikuyu or the Luos.
That aside, MM should be commended for recording for posterity the happenings and the shenanigans in the government during period 2007-2012. This book could not have happened if MM was not kicked out by RAO- that is a fact MM acknowledges.
There is no question that the book was rushed through to beat certain self imposed deadlines- but again- MM has a family and 5 kids to feed so this can be excused- even though a second and third edition should be in order. However the decision to rush the book may come back to haunt MM since some of the things he writes about, even though may be true, can be easily be verifiable and be twisted as untrue. Take for example the case of Joshua Obel- here is a guy who was RAO’s errand boy in the US- it is true that he was jobless for a while and could not access RAO- eventually he got a job through the RAO connections- not that he was qualified for the job anyway -but because of knowing Jakom. Now for Job of Jukwaa to tell us here that Obel has confirmed to him one or two things verbally is not surprising- did he expect Obel to support MM? Obel has no choice but to be a sycophant, he cannot hold a job in the US because of numerous DUI/DWI -he had no choice but to cooperate with the King. A better example is another Obel sidekick Kaula. Another errand boy of RAO in the US- Job- please confirm whether he has direct access to PM – the type of access he enjoyed or so he claimed he had while in the US.
The tragic lesson in the entire MM saga is that MM jumped into the RAO relationship with all his legs- he never had a plan B and only realized all that is obvious about RAO the moment he was kicked in the ribs. Who doesn’t know RAO’s love for his beer and bar hoping? In 2006, after settling down in a strategic corner at my favorite watering hole in hurglingham/kilimani area, RAO and the late Serikal, two other hangers on and a lady- not sure if it was Shebesh- burst into the pub with a crowd of hangers on who were left ouside. They advised the bar manager to evict us from the corner table we had settled in so that they could sit down. I recall we stood our ground and warned the manager that if they forcefully evicted us- it would have been headline news on KTN that evening- in any case we were in the company of journalists and they quickly realized they could not mess around with us . They relented- but what I recall as clear as yesterday was the giggles from both the lady and RAO that evening.
One of the ladies we were drinking with commented thus - “aki ya mungu kama ninge juwa nini huyo mwanamke anapea Raira hata mimi ninge leta compe” –literally translated-If I knew what that woman was giving RAO I could have been his groupie. If it was not Gor Sungu drinking with Raila in a shady pub with women it was another politician. These are facts.
MM also charges RAO of having reverse tribalism amongst the LUO. He alleges nepotism clanism and all that. Again, Miguna disappoints by telling us what is common knowledge. There is nothing new, a little bit of research by MM should have revealed the web of deceit that permeates the Kenyan politics and society. Isnt the ruling class related either by marriage, business or blood in Kenya to screw the common Mwanainchi? FYI – RAO is related to not just the people MM has mentioned in his book, he is also related to Oparanya, Atwoli, Parasankul name them. Infact you don’t have to go far, look at the PM’s flagship company, Spectre International- where last time I visited employees were served nyoyo (githeri) as part payment for labour- you can only work there only if you are either from Gem-Ida’s village or Sakwa (RAO’s) hometown. In 2006, they were still using nyundo, a hammer, to make gas cylinders instead of electric presses and all that- the work conditions then were pathetic. For those attacking MM - these are facts and speaks volumes about RAO’s leadership, managerial and reform credentials.
Truth be told, RAO co-opted Luo’s in the Kisumu molasses plant – this is a fact which I wish Job, Phil and R911 could address. There has been no transparency about how much was raised, how much stake the luo public owns in the company etc. Similar to Spectre factory in Nairobi, the workforce at the Molasses plant is rumored to be from two places in Luo Nyanza.
What about the lineup for Senator, Governor and MP for Bondo. I heard about this line up last year. Can anyone educate me why other Kenyans cannot vie for these positions? These are legit questions MM is raising and should not just be swept under the carpet. They deserve to be addressed by RAO.
RAO should be relieved that MM did a shady job at exposing who he really is and rest easy. For all those trying to hit MM, please be fair to the man. MM has taken contemporary issues in Kenya and tried to give us the context even though sometimes that context was clouded by anger, bitterness, hubris and an over blown ego.
Take for example the text Miguna sent RAO after the sack. Jukwaist wondered whether it was hacked by the NSIS and leaked on the internet- some argued that it was a hoax. MM did not address the matter but everyone on this blog can recall the text.
To the extent that MM has contributed to recording Kenyan history for posterity he should be applauded not condemned.
Let us not hang the messenger.

Did Miguna make an effort to clear with employer, sign confidentiality statements, return assets, diplomatic passport so as to get his terminal benefits? You need to do these things, even ministers do. And am sure Miguna can access his former office anytime. RAO has one of the most if not most accessible office in government. I dropped off a token from my employer and jakom happened to be in. Didnt see any of the pretensions you Will experience from junior officers elsewhere. Part 1 Senti 5 It is one thing to offer a balanced critique after reading a book by a disgruntled Miguna after falling out with and getting fired by Raila, but reducing yourself to such a gullible level and repeating and believing the above quotes and swallowing hook, line and sinker is something else....! Most of what you have cited above are half baked truths and whole lies propagated by those who try to discredit Raila Odinga at every opportunity...Raila is to blame for everything, if he says YES we say NO...! Do you really believe that employees would be served "nyoyo" as part payment and it would only take the genius of Miguna to find out this inhumane treatment of workers for us... really? What is wrong with an engineering firm producing gas cylinders using hammers in their course of work, have you not heard of Jua Kali? Is it illegal for an engineering firm to use hammers or manual labor for all production...? As for being from Sakwa or Gem as a benchmark for gaining employment at Spectre Int., the reality is different, besides Spectre is a PRIVATE BUSINESS owned by the Odinga Family, they are under no obligation to employ people from all 42 tribes in Kenya... The biggest "lie" told about the Molasses Plant in Kisumu is that Luo's were conned of some money by Raila. It is public knowledge that Raila urged Luo's to buy shares into the plant through the Luo thrift company and less than Kshs20 million was raised by a few moneyed Luo's who still own shares up-to-date. This lie has been repeated umpteen times but NO ONE LUO/PERSON has ever come out to declare that they were cheated or conned. None other than James Orengo and Anyang' Nyongo' were the chief propagandists spreading this rumour way back then, both lost their seats for this. Anyang' even wrote a "fake" academic paper for the government discrediting the economic viability of the Molasses Plant before a decision was made to gut it and sell it to a Tanzanian businessman as scrape metal...! As for employment at the Molasses Plant, I Okolo Owaka, was competitively recruited from a field of hundreds and employed as a Chemical Engineering Technician/Plant Operator in 2004...I am from Nyakach, not Sakwa or Gem, in fact most of the people employed then were old hands requited from the sugar industries in western Kenya. I found Luhya's, Kisii's, Kalenjin, Kikuyu, Taita, people from all over Kenya already employed before the first drop of alcohol flowed...there were more people from Nyakach like me employed at Molasses Plant than from either Gem or Sakwa...! As for Bondo Senator seat, Oburu declared that he would vie, Orengo also has declared that he would vie, so the issue of a list is another rumour. I accept that Raila is no angel but when we read or listen to things about Raila, especially from those who want to discredit or paint him negatively, we must also understand that this has been tried before... wheat is mixed with chaff... Don't take everything you hear as gospel truth... You end up being a spreader and propagator of half-baked truths and whole lies. Too much has been spoken and written by so many people about Raila with the sole aim of "hurting" his person or breaking his resolve to help Kenya realize political change, Miguna has had his shot at fame, Raila remains "Nyeupe kama pamba"....

This makes Raila no different from anyone in the PNU wing of the coalition government. How can someone who protects or defends corruption be a champion of reform which can neither sprout nor grow where there is graft? Friends of Raila argue that even if he is not perfect, others competing for power with him, are worse and he should therefore be elected as the fourth president of Kenya. I disagree. If Raila does not fit the bill of liberating president, he should not be elected. Equally if his opponents don’t fit the bill either, they too should not be elected. Who then shall we elect, Raila’s diehard supporters ask in feigned desperation. Kenya has enough good people to find a Joshua among them. Equally, Kenya has enough bad people to elect another Kenyatta, another Moi or another Kibaki. If people prefer a bad president, it is not for lack of a good one. It will be out of suicidal choice. After weighing the good, the bad and the ugly of Raila in Miguna Miguna’s book, I believe the bad outweighs the good. Miguna could be the lone voice in the wilderness announcing the advent of the one who may save Kenya.

Too much has been spoken and written by so many people about Raila with the sole aim of "hurting" his person or breaking his resolve to help Kenya realize political change, Miguna has had his shot at fame, Raila remains "Nyeupe kama pamba".... www.the-star.co.ke/weekend/siasa/88053-is-raila-still-the-joshua-to-lead-kenyans-out-of-the-wildernessHowever, Raila’s worst sin is his defense of corruption by any member or minister of ODM. I disagree. After weighing the good, the bad and the ugly of Raila in Miguna Miguna’s book, I believe the bad outweighs the good. Miguna could be the lone voice in the wilderness announcing the advent of the one who may save Kenya. Buried in the forest of Koigi's words, it's still hard to miss his cleverly calculated shout-out to Raila...kind of telling Raila to choose his friends wisely...by dropping fellows like Stanley Githunguri and picking himself and Wanyiri Kihoro instead. The fact is, Wanyiri Kihoro ain't no Koigi Wamwere. Wanyiri remains a steadfast reformist, Koigi a proven pretender. I suspect his shout-out goes beyond casually labeling Raila an anti-reformist. The likes of Koigi have unfinished business with the Katiba - which they failed to stop at the 2010 referendum. To them, either their anti-reform horse wins or they infiltrate and influence the reform horse. Koigi is calling for attention... probably wishes to join in and influence (tone-down) aspects of devolution he still fears. I once attended a fund-raiser for the previously-reformist Koigi Wamwere in Baltimore, USA when he was launching his come-back bid into politics. That fund-raiser was a humongous fraud in itself. Koigi had by then been pilfering Scandinavian taxpayers of welfare funds under fraudulent premises. As he looted from the Scandinavians, he falsely portrayed a picture of a broke reformist trying to navigate Kenya's expensive political terrain. He cleverly chose the capitalist bastion of USA to launch his lucrative fund-raisers...from yet another lot of victims - gullible Kenyans who still swallowed his snake oil. The moment Koigi landed in Bunge, he retreated into his ethnic cocoon...supplicating before Kibaki, begging for a cabinet placement. To justify his request, he turned into one of the most vile Kibaki hawks - an ethnic supremacist surpassing regular chauvinists. He turned a blind eye to Anglo Leasing and dropped all his reformist credo. He vigorously supported the 2005 Wako draft Katiba that attempted to impose an ethnic hegemony upon Kenya. Initially, Kibaki either ignored or failed to notice Koigi's vigorous 'efforts' for a while. Eventually, Koigi's poisoned pen, publishing numerous anti-Raila propagandist tirades (and pro-Kibaki platitudes) via the Star newspaper, caught Kibaki's attention...Wamwere was appointed Asst. Minister in none other than the Information Ministry where he could apply his Goebelean skills to the fullest. He became a propagandist on steroids...dedicating to the anti-devolution quest. Koigi vigorously opposed the 2010 CoE draft Katiba that ended up being passed by 70% of Kenyans. 2013 elections are now approaching. Koigi has started again seeking attention in the way he knows best...angling as a strategic anti-Raila propagandist. He has naturally joined Miguna in the quest to bring into disrepute, reformist credentials of their most feared 2013 presidential candidate. But by rhetorically asking why Raila doesn't keep him as a friend, he is probably opening the door for possible talk. His anti-devolution credentials remains unmatched. He must thus be viewed from that position. Koigi is essentially conflating the scene of the 2013 presidential candidates, declaring no reformist in the race. Its the same 'ol moral equivalency theory of "they are all anti-reformists" so it would be just ok to pick any one of them (e.g Uhuru Kenyatta)...after all they are all the same. What remains temporarily concealed is Moi's recent exposé...that the chameleon called Koigi is actually a beneficiary of Moi's irregular land allocations of the 80s within Nakuru District. Moi raised this publicly right in front of Koigi. It's no wonder Koigi remains a dedicated anti-devolution hawk - his principal reason for objecting the 2010 Katiba. Some of these counties (backed by the National Land Commission) will soon delve into how certain parcels of land transferred from public trust into private ownership. If a reformist president assumes power - most idle land may end up being taxed. Whereas no one knows for sure what each of the candidates might do - the ones feared most in this regard remain Raila and Karua. Of the two, Raila's prospects are better, thus the singular focus upon ganging-up against his quest.. These are certainly realities which scare the bejeezus out of many conservative land aristocrats and mid-size land beneficiaries as well. Koigi would definitely love a bird of the same feather, like Uhuru Kenyatta (whose family is the greatest beneficiary of mega land allocations) as the next president...hence the refrain..."they are all the same"..."there is no reformist in the race"....I suspect not many Kenyans will buy this cunningly presented snake oil. The 2013 race is definitely a horse race between a candidate holding the reformist banner, and another wielding the anti-reform to-undo list. Very likely, we are setting up for a horse race between Raila and Uhuru.

Very likely, we are setting up for a horse race between Raila and Uhuru. job, your analysis of CMC (incidentally did you know the late Sirkal had taken a Land Rover worthy kshs 20 M and it was reclaimed back just after his death because he had not paid a cent for it! So not only the directors of CMC are bad but our Cabinet members too who drive those VW passats and can take loans for SUVs without paying back), energy (Transcentury hold exhibiting incestuous and predatory instincts) just to name a few have been stellar. But in here my intention was not to analyze one Koigi wa Wamwere or MM. Rather to bring forth his (KW and MM) message. Is it possible to focus on the message or when matters RAO come up its best to shot the messenger? If the latter I am convinced MM is a Mad Man, Koigi is fake (wants attention and is seeking money as he is no reformer). Now back to the messages please. What is your take on say nepotism as a starter. The main course may come later if we are able to be debate without going personal. I know in PNU it’s legendary as for example Minister Kimunya will not be censured as he has something going on with Judy, PORK’s daughter hence those Parliamentarians calling for his sacking alongside the CBK governor better wait for elections. Now we go to RAO…. Well in MMs book pages 175 to 177 he has something. Here we go 'The nepotism, cronyism and plain irresponsibility defies reason, logic or commonsense...I tried to remind Raila repeatedly, of those solemn undertakings to the people of Kenya. I openly challenged the decision to appoint his older brother Oburu...Ass Minister Finance....cousin Jakoyo as chief whip, sister Akinyi to diplomatic post in Los Angeles and Achieng to chair the Railway Workers pension Board....cousin Carey Onyango as Permanent Secretary of Regional Development, Elkanah Odembo (Jakoyo's brother-in-law) as Kenya's Ambassador to the USA, his cousin Paul Gondi as executive chairman of the Geothermal Development Company; another cousin from Sakwa in S. Nyanza, Ochillo Ayacko, as the executive chairman of the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Project...another cousin from Sakwa, Bondo, Joe Ager as a senior officer of Kenya Power Lighting Company job any insights on RAO’s behavior cited above as Kibaki’s nepotism is rotten to the core and we know that, but our reformer? Peeling the Mask, my view Infact you don’t have to go far, look at the PM’s flagship company, Spectre International- where last time I visited employees were served nyoyo (githeri) as part payment for labour- you can only work there only if you are either from Gem-Ida’s village or Sakwa (RAO’s) hometown. Let us not hang the messenger. Too much has been spoken and written by so many people about Raila with the sole aim of "hurting" his person or breaking his resolve to help Kenya realize political change, Miguna has had his shot at fame, Raila remains "Nyeupe kama pamba".... Okolowaka, I personally do not recall anything about nyoyo & hammers mentioned in Miguna's book. I believe that was P101 sharing some first hand information he has about the same. On the flip side of your argument, rather than whole-heartedly accepting what others have told you about the book, why don't you read it & make your own conclusions?

job,
your analysis of CMC (incidentally did you know the late Sirkal had taken a Land Rover worthy kshs 20 M and it was reclaimed back just after his death because he had not paid a cent for it! No, I did not know Ojode took a Land Rover from CMC (a private company) which he never paid a cent for. Could you substantiate please? How does RAO and Miguna come into this deal? I gave a three-part comprehensive analysis of Miguna's message on the relevant thread. What I found in general was an angry and emotional man's collation of malicious propaganda, innuendo, hearsay and bar-room anecdotes. Of course it was peppered with half-truths and interesting but obviously concocted tales. It was indeed my focus (in reading and comprehending the book) that made me figure out not just the 'message' but chief motivation of the messenger. Nepotism is terrible for our ethnically polarized nation where unemployment reigns supreme. Whether practiced by Raila (Oburu, Jakoyo, Akinyi) or Kibaki (Alex Muriithi, Nderitu Murithi), it is retrogressive towards our reform goals. I am on record here in JUKWAA on a number of occasions, for specifically castigating the PM for perpetrating the vice. I frankly believe there are indeed crucial votes the PM will lose just for this. People have to bear the consequences of their actions. I did not know Kimunya had 'something going' with the President's daughter? Care to substantiate? If Kimunya's corrupt ways led to Kenya's loss of Sh 1.3 billion, he should be held accountable now - not in future. If the President's daughter was entangled in the pilferage, she too should be held accountable. All that is required is evidence. Granted, nepotism is terrible as I've said above and Raila can't make any excuses for it. This excerpt from the memoir is a perfect example of Miguna's blemished half-truths and exaggerations. Jakoyo is Raila's cousin; but Ochillo Ayacko is not. Carey and Gondi hail from Sakwa but not everybody from Sakwa is Raila's cousin. Could we say that all qualified people from Othaya, Nyeri should be denied public jobs under Kibaki's administration? Is it right to label all persons from Othaya (in the current government) as being Kibaki's cousins? It is such dishonesty and disingenuous misinformation which robs credibility to what should otherwise be serious discourse. Finally, I must state my view that of all the presidential candidates for 2013, Raila - despite his flaws - remains the most committed to the fundamental and core reform dream (devolution, Judiciary, Police/security, land, forest conservation, poverty alleviation) based on his record. There are those who given a chance will automatically kill land reforms and paralyse the devolution project. Others would simply walk us back to the Nyayo and Kenyatta era traditions. Thus, while acknowledging Raila to be human (with his own failings), he still remains (in my view) the best hope for pushing the country's major reforms forwards.
