If muslims at the coast and everywhere else in the country link Raila to Obama, ( Obama son of kogelo), they may be turned off Raila. If they percive Raila as close to Obama who sends assasins to eliminate their clergy that may not bode well for ODM in terms of their votes. This as low as a desperate person singing Miguna's praises while trying to link and tarnish the PM's name at anything they can hang on to... Bure Kabisa Maybe Miguna and his goons of handlers arranged this murder! si he was in Mombasa, Just after lhe left... a top cleric is assassinated... what is the connection.. If one wants to play dirty with peoples names.. so too can others play dirty by linking those that they glorify like Migina "come baby come" aka Robot voters' OK people who is the mchokozi me or reporter 911?

If they (radical Muslims) percive Raila as close to Obama who sends assasins to eliminate known terrorists, clergy or not that may not bode well for ODM in terms of their votes. Mainstream Muslims never see the war against terrorism as war against their religion. Parliament should act on the stalled anti-terrorism bill--yes working with the Muslim community and get this law into the books to better and more effectively combat terrorism in the country. omwengaI don't think one has to be a fundamentalist to be manipulated. All those birthers in US are not fundamentalist although the seeds of their racism was planted centuries ago. I said percieved. optics and such. ps. i realise you didn't use the word fundamentalist, rather you used radical. i'll assume you ment fundamentalist.

It is quite shameful & disgusting that people can try to politicize the killing of the Muslim cleric. Where does Raila,ODM & Obama come in? Be serious ladies & gentlemen. Can we please have some respect for the dead. It is sad that Kenya is slowly degenerating to a lawless country, this guy is on record as having sounded an alarm that he will be killed, but nobody in the law enforcement agencies ever took him seriously. Should we now expect an investigation that is credible from the same agencies. If we are not careful this country is headed for doom.

Meanwhile Kenyan citizens should shy away from propaganda and pointing fingers.. seems to be from the Muslim council that there have been previous hijacking, assassinations and disappearance of Muslim cleric's.. they have requested the government to get to investigate.. the question then becomes.. who is behind the Ext-judicial Killings of these cleric's and why..it can't be ordinary wanaichi's carrying out these planned assassinations..

Kathure,I fail to see where manipulation fits in what you attempted to convey and in what I responded perhaps you can elaborate. Ditto for birthism and racism. Also, please note I deliberately used "radical" as opposed to "fundamental" or "fundamentalism" in describing that section of the Muslim community that is often associated with, or actively promotes acts of terrorism as a means to achieve their ill-objectives. Put another way, I distinguish between "radicalism" and "fundamentalism" within the religion of Islam itself and as used in contrast to Christianity or other religions. The problem is not our Muslim brothers and sisters; the problem is the radicals among them.

I believe in innocent until proven guilty.
I believe in a judicial process that leads to termination of life on a finding of guilt.
I believe that victims of terrorism are entitled to fair justice through the punishment of those that support, fund and fuel terrorism
I am sad at HOW Rogo met his death.
I am NOT sad that he did.
This in memory of a friend killed in a terrorist attack in Nairobi by Al Shabaab and many Kenyans who lost their lives and those who have been maimed.

CONDOLENCES & APPEAL FOR CALM ON SHEIKH ROGO’S DEATH:
A few hours ago, we got this surprising news of the fatal shooting of Sheikh Aboud Rogo in Mombasa.
I am shocked and saddened by this horrific and tragic shooting that came in a day and a time the country is celebrating the second anniversary of the new constitution and hosting a conference on peace.
It is even more shocking that Sheikh Rogo was killed while taking his sick wife to hospital. I offer condolences to family and friends of Sheikh Rogo, and more so to his widow, Haniya Said Saval.
I am equally saddened by the violence and the destruction that has followed the shooting incident. I want to appeal to our people in Mombasa to exercise restraint and allow the government to get to the bottom of the matter.
We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice. I appeal to our people not to use this sad act to inflict more pain and suffering on our country. Let us come together in calm instead and join hands in order to get to the bottom of the murder.
RAILA A. ODINGA.
27.08.2012.
The swiftness of this statement from RAO himself & not from the Secretary General or the presidential secretariat is rather telling. The sheikh had a constituency with bursting with votes ready for the harvest. Miguna's constituency is already "in the bag". Such is life...

R911, has it ever occurred to you that if Raila had gone through the courts & due process back in 2007/8 then there would've never been any PEV & over 1,300 Kenyan lives would've been saved? Since Kibaki & his crew were already knee deep in extra-judicial killings before the elections, RAO would've held the moral high ground, not having bloodied his hands under PEV whether directly or by proxy, & as leader of an opposition that ought to have been in power could've justifiably called for, & won, elections in late '08 early '09. Anyway, no need to speculate on woulda, coulda, shoulda as the PM seat & all the perks were too sweet to let go ;D

Did Raila Pay the Mingiki's to murder, rape innocent Kenyans whose only mistake was a cry for justice after rigged elections? the cry brought then 6ft fit under silence.. and by the way ICC awaits those believed to be masterminds. If Kibaki had not rigged elections and retired graciously back to Othaya.. 1300 innocent Kenyans would be among us today..

Terror suspect lived, and died, under a cloud of controversy By PHILIP MUYANGA pmuyanga@ke.nationmedia.com AND ANTHONY
KITIMO akitimo@ke.nationmedia.com
Posted Monday, August 27 2012 at 23:30
Sheikh Aboud Rogo died in as much controversial circumstances as he lived.
On July 25, the US administration sanctioned six people, including Sheikh Rogo, Eritrea’s external intelligence chief Tewolde Habte Negash and senior military officer Taeme Abraham Goitom for their alleged roles in supporting Somalia’s militia group Al-Shabaab.
Sheikh Rogo was accused of raising funds for Al-Shabaab and helping recruits get to Somalia to join the group. The other two Kenyans were Omar Awadh Omar and Abubaker Shariff Ahmed.
Mr Omar is awaiting trial in Uganda for his alleged involvement in a July 2010 attack on restaurants showing World Cup matches in Kampala that killed 74 people.
Mr Ahmed was arrested in Kenya in 2010 on suspicion of involvement in the bombing at a Nairobi bus terminal.
The US froze all assets of the six after they were accused of providing financial and logistical support to Al-Shabaab, which is blamed for numerous attacks against civilians in Kenya, Somalia and Uganda.
Eritrea has been accused of fomenting violence in Somalia, in part to keep its archrival Ethiopia in check.
Sheikh Rogo had been a Muslim cleric in Mombasa since 1997 and was said to have introduced Mohammed Kubwa Mohammed to Fazul Abdullah Mohammed and two others, who were later indicted by a US court as the masterminds of the August 1998 attack on the US embassy in Nairobi.
Sheikh Rogo was once arrested in 2002 for allegedly playing a role in the Paradise Hotel bombing in Kikambala which killed 13 people. At the time of his death, he was facing a charge before a Mombasa court for allegedly being in possession of a cache of weapons.
During the hearing of the case almost two weeks ago, the court heard that weapons allegedly found at his house were to be used to attack a Catholic church, Likoni ferry and the Nyali bridge.
Testifying during the case, constable Samuel Kamiti said information received indicated the areas as targets.
Raid at home
Mr Kamiti, attached to CID Kilifi and the only prosecution witness who has testified, told the court that police did not “plant” the weapons at the preacher’s house.
He said the raid by police on Sheikh Rogo’s homestead on January 29 was after a tip-off given to Kilifi CID officer.
The preacher who was out on a Sh5 million bond with three sureties in similar amount also faced four other counts of being in possession of firearms without certificates and another charge of being in possession of explosives.
Sheikh Rogo was allegedly found in possession of AK-47 rifle, 113 rounds of ammunition, two hand grenades, two pistols and 102 detonators.
The hearing of the case was adjourned to October 15. www.nation.co.ke/News/Terror+suspect+died+under+a+cloud+of+controversy/-/1056/1488586/-/ee32o7z/-/index.html

Ikitolewa, wewe chukua, na kama hutapata, ni makosa yako,” the President said in his off-the-cuff remarks, before he read his official speech. That loosely translates to a licence to take the money from the aspirants and enjoy it. As he wound up his speech, the Head of State said that money was the only factor that would change the course of elections, because, “there are those who are here, who want to give you a little money so that you say only good things about them”. “Why do you think people create chaos; it is because of money. This nation has made progress and it has huge amounts of money,” said the President. ==

The Assasination of Sheikh Aboud is serious that you most think.... For Immediate Release: Sheikh Aboud Rogo’s Death: Embrace Change, Mujahideen In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful Majengo (28/08/2012) – On 27 August 2012, our beloved Sheikh Aboud Rogo (May Allah accept him as a martyr) was murdered by the Kuffar as part of Kenya’s policy of extra-judicial killings against prominent Muslim activists. Amir Sheikh Ahmad Iman Ali and MYC condemn this act of barbarity against one of East Africa’s most respected Sheikhs and hold the Kenyan authorities responsible for this targeted assassination. Sheikh Aboud Rogo embodied a shinning example of a true and pious Muslim: unwavering and steadfast in his determination to fight injustices against Muslims all over the world. As a popular and well-respected Sheikh, Aboud Rogo used his unique gift and knowledge of Islam to inspire and inform thousands of young Muslims all over East Africa. Undeniably, MYC and its members are part of the generation of Muslim youths that have been inspired by Sheikh Aboud Rogo’s vision of the Muslim Ummah in East Africa. While the Kuffar has robbed MYC and the Muslims of Kenya of a great Muslim leader, we must remember that the Kuffar has also deprived the family of Sheikh Rogo of a loving father and husband. We ask that Allah comfort his family and ease their pain. For those of us that worked with, and shared the same vision as Sheikh Rogo, we fully understand and accept the path we must now follow in the wake of his brutal murder. Today, after drying our tears we must begin a new journey of embracing change – a change that has been forced upon us by the Kuffar and one that our beloved brothers in Al-Shabaab have graciously reminded us of in their solidarity with the Mujahideen in Kenya. In his last lecture to MYC in May 2012 in Nairobi, Sheikh Rogo spoke of his readiness and wish to become a martyr for our religion. Yesterday, Allah granted Sheikh Rogo’s wish.
