Phil, no need to mark the 4th of July. Sounds like a tacit wink to cousin Obama who will be celebrating his country's Independence day then ;-)

Maybe it's time I switched my loyalty to ODM with hope of inheriting the vast resouces this party has...this should give some edge come 2017! Does anybody know how I can acquire life membership in US? Does anyone have some clue on the upcoming membership drive in US by John Mwangi & Co.?
Phil do you have any details?

Same strategy of 2007 of promising change and even when sh!t hit the fan and the man ended up being the 2nd most powerful man in Kenya, there has been little change initiated by him and we have had more stories of theft and plunder from ministers allied to ODM than even those of 'that other side'. Moral: Pick a slogan that will not be used against you!

...if it has happened, how then does it come? That is how the inappropriate the slogan is. Of course change has come...something like 'kazi iendelee' would have been apt!

Get real man!

Kamale,
Let's quit the pettiness and semantics. Political and social change are not events. They are a process. A lot of great things have happened in Kenya in the last couple of years, the most glaring being the new constitution many aspects of which are being blocked by Kibaki.
Talk about blocking. Didn't Kibaki try to impose his own hand picked CJ to come help him ruin the new constitution? Didn't we unblock that illegal move by Kibaki. And we did that despite the relentless efforts of the Kamales of Kenya who were wildly cheering Kibaki. Mr. Status quo.
Even getting the consitution was not easy. Kibaki has blocked it since 2003 when the same Kibaki promised Kenyans a constitution in 100 days. It took 7 years including a failed attempt by the same Kibaki to impose a bogus katiba in 2005.
Look at the damage being done by Githu Muigai our new AG who Kibaki managed to sneak in. Hasn't the courts just stopped Kibaki from imposing the county commissioners in his effort to retain the PA system through the backdoor. Even that battle has been won despite the best efforts of the Kamales of Kenya who were again quite predictably cheering Kibaki. All these battles are fully documented here in Jukwaa.
These are not romours. These are actual attempts by Kibaki to stop the implementation of the new katiba which many Kenyans see as the biggest step foward in our country since independence.
We need the likes of Raila and others to keep fighting tooth and nail to ensure that the new katiba is fully implemented. So yeah we need constant change to improve the quality of life for Kenyans.

Will the judiciary change....I seriously hope so, but it inspires little confidence when I witness a judge of a magistrate on the take in this day and age! So getting excited because Kibaki was fukced up is not what I look for. I much prefer seeing a leader like Raila living true to his claimed credentials.....but then you and I know that is supposed to be a joke. So what change will come....that has not come? Please tell me!

I’ve misgivings about Raila being the person to bring the much needed change if the way he has handled some affairs in his office is anything to look at. For instance his ability to fight graft and stop the widespread misuse of public resources is questionable (or perhaps he learnt his lessons when he lost Ruto over the Mau eviction? ). indeed it's only this week that the toothless Efficiency Monitoring Unit under his supervision cleared top-ranking officers who had illegally allocated themselves NHC houses. Among the beneficiaries was ODMer Margaret Wanjiru (assistant minister for housing ministry which supervises NHC )and Dorothy Angote, PS ministry of land.
But then you may ask, who can bring change if not RAO? Certainly it isn’t the like of Uhuru, ruto, or mudavadi. My view is that no one beats Martha Karua in the ‘change’ criterion even though she’s yet to go beyond 1% mark in the opinion poll.

It's either ODM's "Change Is Coming" or TNA's "I Believe Tunaweza". I prefer "Change We Can Believe In".
I suppose, to remain relevant, Mudavadi should just state "I AM OBAMA".

That is why everytime Kibaki "fukcs" up to use your own words you guys jump up singing after him and shouting about how nobody will stop them and everytime we stop them you guys are forced to shut up. Go down the list and see how far deep you guys have been stuck with Kibaki and then kaboom Kenyans catch up with the conman and eggful faces galore. We don't worry about that. It is work.

You do not have to throw stones (go to jail) or make headlines to be the reformist and the world is littered with such reformist who were nothing more than self-centred bigots. You will see such characters in Kiraitu, Raila and shamefully Orengo all of whom will not see a cookie jar open and not dip their fingers! You might as well give me Charles Njonjo any day!
