Is this the peaceful mass action that phil is saying it is distorted for diasporans? So what? every Kenyan citizen has a right to demonstrates what they do during the demonstrations is up to them! they are all grown ups with their own rights and if they go against the law then should face the law! that is why Kenyans tax payers pay the police force to do their jobs. Ati blaming Raila because some adult Kenyans decided to demonstrate in his support is utter nonsense.. it is like your family member being RAPED and enraged friends and relatives demonstrating against such vicious and barbaric act, burning houses or buildings.. will the police or the courts blame you for their acts or will they be charged as individuals? Bure Kabisa... Miguna has no leg to stand on Let him produce the alleged evidence he claims he has in regards to the PEV.. wait a minute.. hand written fake notes are out of question.. let him produce tapped conversation showing Raila and ODM politicians discussion how they were going to Kill, Murder, Burn innocent Kenyans during and after 2007-8 elections enuff said..

Reporter,
You simply don't get it. No one is blaming Rao for whatever happened in Nyando or whatever place it is. What others are saying is that Rao should not necessarily respond to MM's book but rise up to his usual statesmanship and condemn any non-peaceful demonstration. He should show he is on another political level not equated to that of MM and Outa.
Rao has my vote in his pocket and we must cultivate ground for more votes.
Will you condemn those currently demonstrating at PM's office demanding for his resignation? I bet not or will you? Are they burning anything?

Brother Jakaswanga,Please see my response to Kaburwo and I hate to disagree with you, too ;D But you have raised a different issue which, I unfortunately, too, don't have time and wish I did to respond to and that is the near unanimous support of Raila in Luoland. Here is my proposition I wish to develop soon into a blog: Because of historical reasons, two communities in Kenya will still vote as a block in 2012/2013 and that is, Luos and Kikuyus. Of the two, Kikuyus will vote less of a block because of attitudinal changes and shifts in the region brought about again by historical factors that have yet to catch fire in Luoland precisely because of that history. This phenomena will gradually disappear in both communities but that does not mean by any means that we shall not have influential families and/or individuals from many of our communities who shall continue to influence and/or dominate their respective community politics. Nothing wrong with that. Jayadha Mak'Omwenga,Indeed I read your missive to Kaburwo, and it is proficient to say I am covered therein! But after we have disagreed superficially, you may equally hate to discover how we actually share a fundamental principle in our different takes! Abide me Sir, for a moment: Outa is a member of the political party ODM of which Raila is the captain. And importantly, Outa is the area MP. So was this a party event? NO? that is where the party leader comes in. Note also that the demo is essentially a pledge of loyalty to Raila. (Nice to ask as what?) It would be different if it was a random mob in an independent act. But this is a Miguna vs Raila collateral ripple. It is not anything else. The burning of the effigy itself is not much of an issue in law, but for me, it is the effigy of a writer, specifically in opposition to the King. Denounced for saying wrong! the earth it is that goes round the damn sun! not vice-versa!? What are your writers for, if not provocation? --urinating on your national bowl of soup just when it is about to be served? Like in the Kibunja vs the gikuyu benga men, I want a condemnation, but not a banning of this form of expression! I too may want to demonstrate in the center of Nairobi carrying the mock corpse of impunity! and you never know if the front and back will spot the images of the two captains of the GCG! So I expect you to condemn me, but not ban me from expressing that freedom in that way. PS: And, that Miguna's wider family has been intimidated, makes it even more imperative for ODM and the PM to dissociate themselves. The people doing these things are doing it for the cause. [the cause??} Pen that missive you are working on. I will be among the first to read it --all, even if it works out to be longer than the other one we talked about!

Nonsense.. why should he?all those demonstrating are adults and if they go against the rule of law then let the police deal with it. why should RAO get involved? it has nothing to do with him.. if citizens dislike Miguna's book and they are upset that he is withholding PEV information then let them demonstrate the way they choose to.. Kisumu was hard it with PEV and imagine having someone from your own area withholding information that can shade light on why your relatives or friend are 6ft under, would you just stay quiet or react to the information.. RAO has nothing to do with the so called demonstrations.. wacheni Upuzi..

Jakaswanga,I hear what you are saying but I think we must give our leaders room to breath and even though Outa is a fellow ODM he is in the end responsible for his own conduct. Again, Raila need not say something about everything that some may think he should. Sometimes it's simply a balancing act and he takes the appropriate act and not saying anything here is the right call in my view. I will soon tackle the other point re block voting and no it will not be a lengthy analysis P.S. I am humbled by your referring to yours truly as Jayadha Mak'Omwenga and only wonder whether I should not now officially claim to be Luo. You know there are many who refuse to believe I am not one because of my staunch support of Raila ;D
